  • Looking at Interpoles eyes in this I for some reason thought they looked like David Jasons, which is odd because I've only just found out he actually does the voice of Interpole.

  • I must've been 2 or 3 when this was on and I still remember it vividly.

  • botijaychompiras

  • It is a shame that this series sort of slips by the wayside...I remeber it as being in the same league as duckula comedically...or at least 'thats what I think anyway' as the man says...I was just walking through the street one day and suddenly the phrase 'thats what I think anyway' came to mind and prompted a nostalgia flash and this intro came to mind...that is what led me here...

  • I loved this cartoon as akid. Shame it didn't get the same accliam as Count Duckula or Danger Mouse. It was very underrated.

  • Hugo sounds like Bob. From Weebl.

  • i loved this knightmare and count dukula as a kid

  • I remember when this was on CITV on a Friday, right before Knightmare.

  • My brother hates this show, though he is called Hugo so it's understandible.

  • how many years is this cartoon??!! OMG, I USE TO SEE IT , WHITH MOM! sniiif!!!

  • Love how cartoon characters aren't subject to the laws of gravity until they realise they aren't standing on anything. Deep.

  • i used to LOOOOVE this show as a kid!

loved the one wear hugo dressed as a teddy bear or a panda i 4get

  • sooo hilarious... what kid doesnt love french robbers?

  • They are the bunglers in crime...they'll succeed next time..hahaha. Good old days

  • oh man i used ot watch this as a little kid omg so many memories of watching this

  • Pinky and the Brain, Pinky and the Brain, Bangers and Mash, Pinky and the Brain...

  • Recorde mi infancia... (sniff)

  • wow..i remember this cartoon so well... I used to watch this when I was a small boy. And yeah,...i remember watching Count Dackula.. and Danger Mouse as well...haaa...memories are flooding in.

  • what's a bungler?

  • @darkcylander

    Someone who bungles.

To bungle something is to screw up at it. To make a blunder. To make a right cock of the situation.

  • classic use to watch this all the time when i was little anyone know what year this started and finished?

  • hugo voices is david jason u dick

  • Hugo sounds so much like Bob.

  • I had this song in my head when I woke up. Glad to see other people remember it too.

  • Hugo's voice reminds me of Bluebottle from the Goons.

  • You can guess where the inspiration for his voice came from, then! ;)

  • @InvaderJem

no but i can tell you they were rehashes of charactures from sount duckula

  • Yep, Gaston and Pierre ;)

And yeah, Hugo's voice was inspired by Bluebottle from the Goon show.

  • brings back so many memories.

  • omg! i l ove this show! i used to watch it with my dad when i was little....ah childhood memories

  • back in the good old days ayy?

i'd do it all again if i had da chance.

  • this rockkkks

  • This always reminds me of waiting for Knightmare to come on, on a Friday afternoon!

  • They did not fall until they noticed.

  • Hugo and Victor

    That's what I think anyway.

    Classic.

  • haha awesome

  • oh man back in the day!!.... hugo is adorable.

why did this stop airing, its brilliant, and so funny

  • lol i remember this

  • I sware they were in Duckula, as ducks!

  • david jason voiced hugo and count duckula, thats probably why theres a similarity. actually hugo reminds me of count duckula a little bit too.

  • Their original forms, the Duckula versions, were Gaston & Pierre. I always considered the Duckula versions as the predecessors to Victor & Hugo, myself.

That being said, I have a real soft spot for the Duckula versions. Something about that episode where they disguised themselves as Chinese Takeaway Chefs still makes me laugh to this day XD

  • they were then they had their own spin off AKA Victor and Hugo except as humans

  • Yeah I did once see Duckula in some episodes of this as a kid.

  • I wish this was back on telly! They should bring it back with Knightmare! And Bad Influence I loved that show too.. thanks for posting this intro I've looked everywhere!!

Does anyone know if this is available on DVD?

Hugo and Victor... that's what I think anyway lol

  • "Hugo and Victor. That's what I think anyway."

  • Gah what on earth does Hugo say in the intro after Victor says: 'Nothing can go wrong?' I could never make it out!

  • "Yes Victor I know"

  • Gah so obvious! Thanks!

  • Love David Jason's Hugo, a tribute to Peter Sellers' Bluebottle from The Goon Show.

  • Victor and hugo is british but it's french.

  • Victor and hugo is the original cosgrove hall programme. It was in 1991.

  • hugo sounds like bluebottle from the goonshow

  • this brings back the best memories of watching tv after school when it was getting dark...how can you beat 90s kids tv? shows these days just don't compare

  • I always used to sing "Victor or Hugo, Bundles of Crime". It made sense to me!

  • "hugo and victor...thats what i think anywyay"

  • yea absolute classic!!! I also loved it when hugo used to say "Victor, what is it, that it is, that you are doing?" LMAO

  • "Like so, Like so, like so"

  • i thought i was the only who remembered this show! glad to see i'm not alone!!!

  • oh lawd... this goes back a few years

  • ME TOO! I have always had memories of this show:

"Victor, what is it, that it is, that you are doing?"

  • I *loved* this show. It was always the lead-in to Knightmare, thus Fridays were awesome. Dare I say I prefered V&H more than the other Cosgrove Hall cartoons of the time (Duckula/Dangermouse) - V&H never got the appreciation it deserved. I do have some episodes on VHS somewhere, I could probably dig them up.

  • OmG! Please upload them!

  • I've got loads and loads of old VHS tapes that i'm taking out of storage next week. I'll try and set aside some time to finding some of my Victor and Hugos. I know they're there!

  • We'd all love to see them!

  • Someone! Please! Upload some episodes!

  • omg i loved this show!!!!!!!!!

tooke me ages to find it

  • loved it!! remembered it vividly... i loved hugos earwig penelope

  • haha i have this on video

  • This show was the best cartoon i can recall as a kid, however i only got to see about a seasons worth of episodes then all of a sudden, VOOM! GONE! never to be seen again. It simply never came back, with no explination, it made me so sad. Does anyone know if you get it on dvd or download more than just the the intro from anywhere??

  • aahh I remember this as a kid, use to watch it all the time XD

  • i used to love this cartoon when i was little ! Anyone know if it's available to buy on dvd or video ?

  • "you put the suits in the suitcase and the breifs in the breifcase!" haha!!

  • In that case - I know what it is that you are full of. NUTS! You NUt-case!

  • "Oh good, hope they're Brazil nuts, I like Brazil nuts, SQUAARK"

  • huga and victor that's what i think

  • Lol Hugo use to crack me up, "Yes my Victor"

  • but but but but my victoooooor i love my little earwig
