    Please reply!

Cuz I want a silent alert but still a vibrate and iphone phone won't allow a vibrate without a sound!!!

  • @JuliaC96 set ur phone in silent mode with vibrate on ?

  • If you don't get an "Create AAC" option and something like "Create MP3" you must change your convertion settings.

Edit --> Preferences --> Import Settings (on the first page) --> Select AAC encoder.

    Option should now be there.

Thumbs up so this helps others.

  • great vid lol so easy

  • I tried this with a purchased iTunes song and it worked as well. Maybe since the mentioned Itunes version it's possible. Just wanted to let everyone know. I did however create an aac version of the purchased song first, then changed the start and stop times, then created another aac version.

  • fricken awesome man!!!!!!!!! ilove it and made a thousand ringtones! and i used the latest version of Itunes!

  • fricken awesome man!!!!!!!!! ilove it and made a thousand ringtones!

  • It was indeed a challenge at first!.. but after reading the some other reviews & replaying the video!... I got it!... wooo hoo!.... Thanks a much!.... :-)

  • ive followed everything, its showing up on itunes and saying its synced but can find it in my iphone. any help is appreciated

  • @KAYMW1989 it could be the "length of the song"... I played around with it & the max song length I got was 0:39... I didnt see mine at first... one viewer stated.. "go into devices"left on i tunes screen" where it shows your phone & click "sync all ring tones" & that should work... using Vista so my system gave me a dialog box when the song didnt sync correct. If in the progression window it reads "copying fire or song" it has to be on your phone... on your phone go to settings&ring tones

  • THIS IS ORGASMICLY AWSOME!! SOOO CUUUUEL!

  • Damn he's cute. ;)

  • i cant find the ringtone in my ringtones although it was downloaded

  • yay!!!!!!

    THANKYEWWWWWWWWWWWWW

  • i fucking love you do. best tutorial yet

  • finally someone showes step by step to do this

  • thanks

  • it wont sync to my iphone why? plz help

  • @redsoxguy1056

Connect your phone and then click on it under "Devices", then go to "Ringtones" then click "Sync Ringtones" and select "All ringtones" and it'll work buddy. I was like wtf at first too.

  • @iGalvanize It doesn't have the "ringtones" folder on the left side under the library section..why is this?

  • @sooflymami

If you have no ringtones then itunes won't show that folder. After you're done renaming it to ".m4r" , drag it into your library and as soon as you drag it into your library the "ringtones" folder will appear automatically in itunes. Hope this helps buddy.

  • @iGalvanize

hi hoping you can help. I can't drag the song into my library. I get a circle with a line thru it. i also pluged my phone into my computer and clicked on devices. Can't find anything about syncing ringtones. I have vista, don't know if that is the problem. any suggestions?

  • nice!

  • just like u said.. except i can do for 40 seconds ringtone

  • Yaaaaaaaay! awesome vid thanks

    xx

  • The easiest to follow, thanks m8

  • nice Macbook red Skin

  • yeah~

  • When i rename the file to .m4r, it doesn't convert the file, it just changes the name. Has apple updated so people can't convert it anymore?

  • I can get all the way to renaming it to m4r and then I can not drag it back on to my iTunes! I have Vista. Am I missing something?

  • works good... shitty audio quality though.

  • just a FYI. if you can not get it into iTunes just add file to your ITunes Ctrl+O

  • nice your the best dude thanks :)

  • Does not work :S

  • @megodgast

    you wrong do step..

i get it.. workkk!!!!!.. new itunes version 10..

    cool.. you try again..

  • that was really helpful. i knew how to make ringtones thru itunes before but i guess my settings have changed and i couldn't find out how to change a file name (it was checked as hidden in file options folder). thank you so much for mentioning this information!

  • This is ridiculous! The shit you have to go through just to have your own ringtone...

  • @Mitro86 The process is really quick, just that he has to slow it down to teach..

  • @trassicslay No. It's not. It's unnecessarily time-consuming. It should be: grabbing your phone > Go to songs > Options > Select song as ringtone and DONE (like every other phone on the market) You can't do shit with the iPhone without connecting it to the computer.

  • cool.......

  • followed the directions on the latest version of ITunes as of Oct 13, 2010 and worked perfectly! If you are having problems minimize your screens and put up ITunes next to the youtube window and pause the video after each instruction. I had no trouble and I am not so computer savvy.

  • Thank you, done it :)

  • omg how do u all have the ringtones section under the left column of itunes? i dont hav the ringtone section. anyone tell me where to get?

  • @dholi07 If you're using Window...

Start | Control Panel | Folder options

    Select "View Tab"

Check "show hidden files and folders"

Uncheck "hide file extensions for known file types"

    Click "OK"

    Hope that helps!

  • @ZakkMcKracken Much appreciate, bruh.

  • To everyone complaining, slow down, pay attention, and follow directions... this technique works great.

  • can i ask how u get the create ringtone... option when u right click it cuz it does not show up on my itunes

  • THANKS SOOOO MUCH!!! the quality will go bad if i edited it with garage band, so THANKS!!!!

  • it works with songs downloaded from itunes

  • So simple!... NOT!

  • @zfunk not for an idiot

  • BUT I've messed about for a hour and found 2 solutions MAN!

1- Waste disc and burn editing tracks to CD and import using right AAC settings.

2- GarageBand will do the work for you, simple; edit the chosen track in iTunes or you can in GarageBand, then under the "Share" tab select send to iTunes which converts it to ACC for you in .m4a form, then just drag and drop track to desktop change extension to .m4r delete the ones you don't want first and import the one you want and it be under ringtones!

  • @M1te5h could you please explain the waste disc thing to me, ive made ring tones before but i cant on my new itunes! i suck at computers please help me :)

  • @kriskeri

i've updated itunes and you now seem to be able to convert to AAC files, within itunes, so there no need to send to another programme..

but the "wasting a disc method" is basically creating a playlist that you want to burn, for example the track you want as ringtones, if your itunes burning setting are set to WAV files, which the format the CD player read, etc and then reimport the track once burned, which then be able to work with the track as the video directs you through the sets

  • @M1te5h oh, my itunes already says aac but when i drop the song to the desktop it doesnt have m4a, so when i change it to m4r it doesnt ask me if i want to change it

  • @kriskeri when you right click first select create acc version then right click again to do all of those other steps he said. ;)

  • New Version Blocks AAC Convert / Import Attempts (this key step) because the renaming stage wont have a effect!

    /watch?v=OMNV7JwsitQ

  • this was amazing thank you so much!

  • For iTunes 9.X, there doesn't appear to be a "convert to AAC" option. This can be sidestepped using the free program Audacity by Sourceforge. Load original song in Audacity, crop to the times you want, then use File/Export As and save as M4A/AAC. (Or, alternately, you can set the start-stop times in iTunes, convert to mp3, then load that mp3 in Audacity and Export As, but you can crop much more precisely in Audacity.) Rename as M4R. Follow all other steps as in this video and it will work. :D

  • I LOVE YOU THANK YOU

  • thats amazing!

    thanks so much!!

  • instead of finding an ACC version of a song, right click the song and click "create AAC version" but only do that after editing the time of the song! :)

please thumbs up this comment so everyone will see

  • well it worked for me with a song which i downloaded of the itunes store...

  • what if when i click on Create AAC its in grey type and i cant click on it?

  • Wow, this help me so much! Thanks a bunch!

  • LOVE YOU

  • does it have to be itunes 8.0??

  • thanks man really helpful

  • it's synced but it's not showing up in my iphone where am i to look for it at

  • thank you very much :) very easy to follow help a lot thanks ;D

  • When i drag the aac file to my desktop, it does not have the filename "songtitle.m4a" and when i add .m4r to the end it does nothing. any suggestions?
