  • @ hardwiredgaming how do you replace the japenese text and sfx with the english ones? please help me!

  • Can you play this, purposely place THIRD or FOURTH in High Scores, so that you get the Good Driver music, and post it? I HATE the music when one gets first place! So boring! But, I love the Second, Third, and Fourth place musics. Thanks!

  • So many quarters.........*sigh*

  • Lots of 'splosions!

  • i'm noting the sound difference from the original and it sounds like they stuck a high-pitched oscillator in there with the engine noise, it sounds like the mosquito sound. how did they think that was a good idea?

  • PREPEW TWO QWOWIFY

  • @TedLee810 i heard REERREREWWW RROOOOO REEEREEEWWWEIIIFFEFEY

  • the game is a reference to Gran Turismo the Fuji Test and Suzuka are part of the Gran Turismo Series

  • @VandolphVibar09 I think you got this backwards.

  • =)))what a shit

  • If you did the test track you would have got 2nd place

  • cool

  • OMG!! It`s So Cool

  • DARN THAT SIGN. GETS ME EVERYTIME.

  • Hey can you se me the rom, The ones i find say poleposition ii but are only poleposition.

  • Classic racing game one of my favorite old school games

  • the 8 -16 bit era was kick ass

  • the sound and the game itself its PURE classic :)

  • fuji speedway's on Gran Turismo

  • Funny as fuck nonetheless ! I can't believe I actually used to wait in line to play this game ! Kinda funny how technology moves on though - early 80's = good times : )

  • The low-to-high gear shift kinda sounds like the Phantom of the opera.

  • spongebob

  • the voice sounds worse than a walkie talkie

  • chowder is sad

  • @rikiyamashi its the emulator its sorted no on later versions

  • wow your playback is ropey as shit

  • MadCommodore: If you mean the actual video, this was before I got CamStudio to work like I wanted it to.

  • ox12

  • good ol days

  • i meant the real deal as in the actual arcade game in your posession that costs about $500 or so.

  • ENTERTAINMENT35: I figured, but not all of us have that kind of money. I certainly don't. The cost of the unit alone is way out of my league, and repairs and parts would be even worse.

  • yeah i definately agree. i dont have that kind of money at the moment but im 1 of those ppl that wants to someday have my own lil game room.

  • @HardWiredGaming just make an emulator and hook it up to a cabinet with joystick. or crap steering wheel. i love the tires flying everywhere btw.

  • @titandown Even then, I haven't the money, time, or desire to do that. Maybe when I have a better job and better house.

  • The voice sounded funny because it said, "first time to qualify to race" real funny. Did the game have static when that happened?

  • victobob: That would be the computer grinding at that exact moment to keep up with the processing requirements of MAME and CamStudio. That's how it manifests - sounds repeating.

  • Oh, ok. Thanks for telling me that. I thought it had something to do with static.

  • stupid mame crap!! gota get the real deal

  • ENTERTAINMENT35: This IS the real deal.

  • lol at the first time u crashed into the sign

  • You crashed so much!

  • playmobil678: I stated as much in the info.

  • dude... u over frickin revved so much

  • Don't be so hard with yourself!

You are anyway the number one to leave the best score!

    :-)

  • Pole Position is strip club in vice city <3

  • So in Pole Position II your car's top speed can approach 255 mph (410 km/h). Best if you shift into high starting at 100 mph (160 km/h).

  • And you're a troll with nothing of interest to say.

    Funny how that works.

  • haha that was a wicket comeback...lol nice one

  • You might noticed there is Seven 11 signs during the race.

Didn't know Namco partnered with that.

  • Yep. And to think people seem to think advertising in games is a recent development.

  • there are also some pepsi signs in the original pole position, but they got rid of them and replaced them with plugs for Dig Dug and Centipede in the US atari version

  • Both Pole Position and Pole Position 2 are the hardest Roms to find online. How did you get them??? Is it possible to get them as well.

  • Hard to get? Hardly. As for how, just do a search.
