  • The Polyphonic Spree snuck their merry selves up into my "Best Bands EVER" list. <3

  • you can actualy do this stop motion, using the shuter speen on your cameras or actualy do it on your editing equip/software. this could have been a combination of it all. however they done it, its good work

  • such a good song... to answer the question, I'd call it slow motion.

  • wow, good song, good stop motion!

  • they played this song in my XC slide show it made me eary eyed =;D

  • christ is a vicissitude of the light. He is no more neccesary to understand or appreciate this music than he is to experience a rising sun. within.

  • I hate this pseudo-intellectual BS with its grammatical errors and sloppy sentence structure. Music and sunrises are tangible, gods are imaginary.

On a lighter note, I agree with thefakeyeti.

  • I love how this song has such a calming effect that no one really is ripping into the guys that are dissing it.. They are feeling happy, and realizing those people not worth the effort

If they were to do this in a icp video, people probably would threaten his life

  • Okay

  • it's people like you that scare the crap out of me

  • Comment removed

  • andlchange...My friend JoBob wants to f@ck ur arss...and u give NASCAR a bad rep. Go trees

  • Good for you. You've successfully trolled PS fans. Congrats. You can go away now.

  • Yeah..drink the battery acid like you did obviously..wtf is with your brain?

  • its sad but either youre completely serious or just really bad at making satire obvious

  • Your a fucking idiot. Go touch your sister.

  • yo man think u can send me dis song?

  • The only thing were quantity is responsible for the quality is money. It's definitely different with videos.....

  • Wow this is a crap load of pictures

    and absolutly insanely awsome photography

  • ....so?

Do you have a point you're trying to make, or something?

  • For some reason they remind me of a mix between the flaming lips and Arcade Fire.

Which, makes me very very happy.

  • my friends and i are doing a cover of this song with about 15 people. it is so sick! i love it!

  • For those concerned about the math, I can't find anywhwere it saying it was done by only one camera, photographed sequentially. Could've been multiple cameras at some points (like the concert footage).

  • My orchestra teacher used to be in this band =\

  • hey you're right it is stupid

I guess maybe you learned something today, stupid face

  • And by the way, Does anybody know any more song with this same summery feeling, please pm the name of it to me :D

  • I love this tune, Just think that the description could've been more honest or sumthing. But whatever, summer is coming to sweden soon! :D

  • So, my biggest concern is nitpicking over the logic of math, instead of there being widespread enjoyment due to some great, happy music. You've got all manner of instruments squeezed in there, and the overall effect makes you want to just jump up and down, or spin in circles. Or at LEAST smile. Stop sweating the small stuff, take a deep breath, and realize that no one here is out to be impressed by your so-called 'common sense.' Just enjoy the tune!

  • shut up sucker

  • lol, this is unreal. 70k pics in 10 days? Lets do some math:

    60 secs x 60 mins = 3600 secs in an hour. Now:

3600 secs x 240 hours (10 straight days) = 864000 seconds. So they have 864000 seconds to take 70k pics.

70000 pics / 864000 secs = 12,3428571. They must've taken a pic each 12 second for 10 days straight with no sleep. Ya, Good luck.

  • Or, you retard, they had a camera with a high burst rate?

Fucking hell, get the fuck off the internet and get the fuck out of here man.

  • alot of these look like they are not even a second apart they probably took A BUTTLOAD of pictures at one time.

  • There could have been multiple cameras taking pictures at the same time. If they had enough people, they wouldn't be giving up time by sleeping.

  • i hate the polyphonic spree so fucking much.

  • Then what are you doing watching one of their videos?

  • you are strange.

  • 3min 53 sec = 233sec

    70 000 pics / 233sec = 300,4 pics/sec (fps)

300,4 fps is unrealistic. My estimate is around 8-14 fps.

    Conclusion:

70 000 pics in a video this short is not realistic, even though there are more than one set of pictures at times.

If anything, the photographer took 70 000 pictures, and then chose just a few of these to make the video.

  • It makes video, who would have thought.

  • you guys do realize that most of the time there are more than one picture on the screen at once, right?

  • really awesome/unique... 5*****

  • Wow, killer! Pretty original stuff. Outside of King Sonny Ade I've never heard of any kind of modern rock/pop band this size. Cool stuff, I'll bet they'd be fun to see.

What's the deal with the pix? Who the fuck cares?

  • I love this stuff.... I miss the old Tripping Daisy days aswell but this is good

  • i think they meant 70,000 ecstasy pills in one tour.. not pictures

  • I know the lead singer and his wife and his kids. His kids go to my school and we are seeing the christmas show today. Polyphonic spree rocks .

P.S they did use 70,000 pictures.

  • who else took the bad acid?

  • thats less than 30 frames per second and at 30fps this video would be only 2130 frames. FUCK YOU :)

  • its 3.53min = 21180sec

at 30fps that would be 635400 frames :)

  • lol :D

  • Comment removed

  • No offense, buddy, but there aren't 21180 secs in 3:53 min.

    Some math tips:

there are 60 seconds in a minute, not 6000.

When it says 3:53 mins, it means 3 minutes and 53 seconds, not 3.53 minutes.

    3:53 is actually 3.883 mins.

  • Actually, the video is not 3:53 long.

    It's only 3:28 min.

  • hey!

i helped the making of this video and we did use about 69000 ppics !

  • sure...

  • bah who cares bout the pics it took, its a great song from a great band :D

  • yeah there is no way that is 70,000 pics. it can only even be 7,000 because it often has several layers of pics showing at the same time.

  • 70000? estaria con epilepsia despues de verlo... no way

  • Je je...ME AYDUA!!!!

  • shite!

  • probably meant 7000 and just added an extra zero

  • no way 70 000 pictures

if they used 30 per second (which would give smooth video) it would last 38min

  • But it's not smooth exactly is it?

  • you're proving his point. the less smooth it is, the less pictures it would use.

  • we can always assume that not all photos were used.

if it really were 70,000, then perhaps the guy followed the band for an entire tour, taking ridiculously stupid amounts of photos, but really only used a couple days worth.

if it was a long tour, then its not unlikely.

  • wouldnt be hard in 10 days. the guy that wanted to make this just went with them and took a shit load of pictures. just kept taking pictures cause that was no doubt his job.

  • what a great song, very catchy.

  • I heard this song a million times and can't stop listening. it's like an addiction or something :) brilliant.

  • LMAO, they're not a cult, they're a group xD

    They have lives...

  • each member must not make a lot of money per venue

  • really

divided among like 23 people means like 200 bucks per person or something

    weak

  • they dont do it 4 the money

  • thats the great thing about the polyphonic spree they most likely dont care about money and just enjoy playing their music

  • ANother great thing about The Polyphonix is that its a group full of happiness that you are surprised can be mustered in such a dark age as this.

  • It's not like we live in a time of horrible oppression

  • That might be, but we still live in a time where emotionally we are more hardened than ever these days. Heck, I read in a newspaper that more people than we'd ever guess worldwide is suffering from depression.

  • to be fair, if we lived a couple of decades ago, we wouldn't really have time to be depressed, and 'all those things' that get us down, wouldn't be nec. relevent to us....

  • yes, it is

  • Really? You don't think The English pillaging and raping captured provinces is more callous than today?

God forbid I go back even farther to the Crusades, Cannibalism, and Tribal Warfare.

    We're just spoiled, thats all.

  • Well, I know back then was bad. Heck, today, we are in a time of war and organized religion as a crutch, rather than used as a healing tool. Either way, I think right now, we could use some music inspiring a sense of positivity for the new times.

  • Did "The English" set up concentration camps in which they starved and gassed people to death?

Did they drop nuclear bombs eliminating entire cities, or use napalm on children in Vietnam?

1/4 of all American girls experience rape. 3/4 in South Africa.

Just because violent stuff don't happen to you doesn't mean it do not happen at all.

  • yeah making people happier is never a bad thing :)

  • i liked tripping daisy....this doesnt realy do it for me :(

  • Who gives a shit if they're a cult? if they have this much psotive energy in their lives, i'd be part of it.

  • love Polyphonic Spree but they're not a cult! I know they some like a cult but they're not, they're jsut naturally happy.

  • can't help it, i'm addicted to this song...

Running away with the wind in our face

    It's like flying!

    flyyyyyyyyyyyying!

  • a choral symphonic rock band with a lot of members.

  • cult, band, who cares. they're amazing, and this is one of the most joyous songs ever. the clip of them doing this on jonathan ross is also wonderful.

  • Tim DeLaughter is my L.Ron Hubbard haha (cult joke for you dumb people)

  • how much GB is 70, 000?

    the million question

  • If the Polyphonic Spree were a cult..

    I would join.

  • Wow, I was just going to type that.

  • lol

  • nice video...

for those ppl that say that there are not 70,000 images...i just count them and they were right...actually they are 70,004....2 days but finally i finish counting.....im going to count them again to make sure i am right

    :) lol

  • Yes, there are 23 members. I run a website for the band. There are past members, but only 23 active members. For the LAST TIME, they NOT A CULT!

  • i herad polyphonic spree is a cult, is this true? i think its true. its true, ive decided. Everyone, make sure everyoen knows they are a cult so there is no confusion.

  • shutup idiot kid.

  • ok im gonna sound sad saying this but in the description you say theres only 23 members but if you go on the website and put the cursor over there name it comes up with a picture and there are 35 of them. yes i counted them lol

  • Awsome song....!

  • Last time I checked 70,000 still images was called ~38 minutes of film. Drop some frames here and there and my 5 year old daughter could have made this.

  • actually dumbass, the still images go by so fast so it is 70,000

  • I have no idea whats going on here

  • 70,000 still images shown, in the most common way, at 1 image every 1/30 a second, is about 38.8 minutes of film. Most motion pictures use this standard, and, if the Polyphonic Spree used this standard, this music video would have to be nearly 40 minutes long. Therefore, it seems the 70,000 images figure is likely exaggerated.

    -Summer Glau

  • OR they took 70.000 pictures and just didn´t use all of them.

  • Is that 70000 photos that important? I can't see the different of taking a vedio and add a filter to play it "unsmoothly".. :P

  • ever taken 70,000 photos yourself?

    No?

    Shut up.

  • Incredible layers of sound arranged beautifully.

  • lol, I was scrolling down through the comments and found that some people think that the band is a cult. what has the world gotten to? :D

    I love this song <3

  • ahhhh, you may need to rethink your ignorance. I heard that several key interlocutors made a Faustian Pact durinf=g early October 2004 at the Double Wide in Dallas. just fyi

  • pjnarsyes... it's true(CULT BAND)... when i saw them i was so happy i didn't drink the kool-aid...but i do like some of their songs...i just don't listen to them more than once at a time...(just to play it safe)...

  • They're not a cult. The happy music is their stlye of playing and they wear the robes because its about unity and the the fact that 23 people in normal clothes would be too distracting on stage.

  • lupinbell...unity in the cult...lol

  • 23 band members... wow, no wonder the song sounds so beautiful :)

  • architecture in helsinki > polyphonic spree

  • they used to be anyway.

  • that is so fuckin sick how they made that video this band is an inspiration and all modern day bands should be influenced by them

  • something about their robes and the big HOPE sign in the background and the joyful music makes me feel like im watching a bigger, more melodic danielson famile. which is a compliment.

  • i agree with buttrocksucks. i've seen them live twice. what's awesome is that they waved at me and my little sis! oh and the flute player played a song for my little sis, too! anyway, this is one of the few bands with enough talent to actually do things their own way, despite the modern pop-ways.

  • this band is the most beautiful and positive band with actual talent, ever.Seeing them live is an event that will change you and your perspectives on pretty much everything

  • Something about these guys get me pumped up...

Like how some people get pumped when they listen to hardcore rap..

I could totally picture myself listening to this song as I lift weights..
