right up to snuff with the rest of your work. You know that you are ssetting a very hard task for yourself to keep this up...but Moody inspiration should make it easier.
It is amazing how many really inspired works there are on YouTube based on Moody Blues songs. Amazing. I imagine none can compare.
Good work, ED. Keep us amazed, if you please.

@telsport Thank you for the comment! The beauty with music and video, as you know is how you can visually interpret anything. I have been experiencing with theories that I have personally developed that is tailored made to go with each song. Also I have a method I go by: That the composer wants to describe in their music and that is like what Vivaldi does in his 4 Seasons masterpiece- The instruments describe the things and themes and other things!
@EssentialDegnities It's sort of like listening to the music with your eyes closed and watching the show that plays on the inside of your eyelids...and reproducing that graphically. for the rest of us,eh?
@telsport Yes. I have a story board playing out in my head. You have this just like others do, I found this out when I went to commercial art school back in the early 90's. Even a song I have not heard at all gets a listen to and the images come in.
From wikipedia, Ray Thomas performs a harmonica solo about half way through the song. Also, at the very beginning of the song, Ray Thomas can be faintly heard saying the line "I'll have a Scotch and Coke please, Mother!" At the end of the song is a backward message in which Thomas can be faintly heard saying "What happens anyway, you know?
Definitely one of the most entertaining vids I've seen in a long time. A+
For those who weren't around in the '60s and '70s, many people DID think the Moodies were cosmic dudes. I remember a rumor that they had some demigod or guru writing their songs. I heard that from some guy who had done some weed with them.
I always thought they did "I'm Just a Singer in a Rock and Roll Band" to lower the expectations of the fans - to tell them they were not mystics.
Thanks for the answers guys:) I thought maybe when they were recording this song they forgot to turn off the speakers at the end and we could hear them talking.
Just found out on wikipedia at the end of reflective smile he says I'll have a scotch and coke please mother, and at the end of veteran cosmic rocker he says what happens anyway?
I believe the words he's saying are " Another rum and coke please, Mother" with mother being the person in the studio assigned to making the guys happy. If the quote isn't exact it's very close. He just wants a drink. I'm sure he wasn't expecting that to stay in the recording.
Great video, must have taken ages. Re the comment at the end, I think you'd be able to decipher it if you played it backwards. By the way, the comment at the begining of the song is, "I'll have a spot of pie, please, mother."
love this video very nice but I got question thats been bugging me for a long time what in the world does ray thomas say after the veteran cosmic rocker song, it's like right when the song is over he says something like "help me with the paddle or some shit.?
@jasonhylnd001 Thank you for the comment! I do not know the answer to your question but I suspect he might think that or he would say.....This is Great!
@jasonhylnd001 - Hi mate, according to wikipedia he says "what happens anyway, you know ? " It is said as a backward message which is the sort of thing ELO were doing around the time.
Hello Wolf, what an amazing video on this song from the Moody Blues (never heard it before) !!! Great to start my weekend with your song ;-) I take it to my fav's...
Fascinating, a masterful job with lots of visual surprises and breakthrough concepts. I must admit, I'm impressed. Thank you for advancing the art. Keep it up--10 stars
Thank you so much Jill- I had lots of fun with this one----Reflective Smile was fun to do and I had to reach down to listen to the colors of the passage to emerge. Thank you again!
