Nice video. I understand why cycles is faster at rendering (GPU). What I don't understand is why the quality is also better. Is it a better renderer with more features? (vs pressing f12 before)
@kasuskasus Search "Nvidia physx fluid demo" and watch the top one by NVCUDA. We are not 5 years from this video in realtime. We just need realtime rendering as good as this.
I keep seeing these "blender cycles" vids. How do you render with cycles? Could someone explain this to me like I was an idiot? =) Very nice render btw.
@bnewton81 Thanks for your comment. First i can tell you. Cycles is very experimental but nice for this early status. I start my scenes like this. First i make a background with some nice exr or hdri picture. The objects have no textures. After the background i use some additional lights like planes with emission. This planes i place around the scene. Then i make the textures for the scene objects. After that you must play with the light again to finalize the lighting. Playing with light.
Fantastic!

@metallitech
The render engine is complete different. This is based on path tracing(please use google)
the tracer uses a different algorithm to render. But one thing os the same. You can use also f12 to render :-)

@metallitech Yeah, blender is faster, and the final results are always more realistic.. waaay more realistic than the blender internal..

This is quite obviously fake, otherwise my brain is quite obviously spread thinly across the walls of my room.

How many years before we'll be able to see things like this in real-time on, say, a 1000$ PC?

@kasuskasus 5 years top ;)

@cbader92
You are right but the fluid is not only the important point.
You need real good light and materials.
