In case anyone is wondering, this song samples "Angelina" by Slade.

@thecalmiceman It uses the lyrics and melody of Slade's "Angelina," but it seems to definitely be a new studio recording, so I wouldn't call it a "sample," just a kickass loop ... like the female sections of Notorious B.I.G.'s "Mo' Money, Mo' Problems." (And IMO, the loop and beat are 95% of the reason the track is worth listening to in either of these cases ... as with MOST hip hop.)

Took me a while to find the original Slade track, too. I feel enlightened.

Sampling is a major focus in hip hop music and when done well (as executed in this song) can make the song incrediable

It's not done that well. The jump from verse to chorus and back is incredibly choppy. I'm disappointed that this turned out to be a sample on a rap song.

Don't get me wrong. The rap isn't bad, but I was hoping for more of the electronic-ness that the hook seems to suggest.

I am now off to look for the original version of the sampled song.

I know those lines originally come from a Slade song (Angelina), and its sung in exaclty the same way, although the voices doing the singing are clearly different.

So yeah, just wondering if someone did a cover of Angelina that was later sampled for this song.
