The ICC have prosecuted the United States (USA vs. Nicaragua) and ruled against the US. It does not however have any military forces at its disposal to enforce its rulings.

The Security Council of the UN referred the Dafur situation to the Court. This is why Sudan as non-party member of the ICC nevertheless has to comply. The fact that the US is not a member of the ICC is indeed "awkward" but a result of Bush policy. Clinton at least signed the treaty, Bush decided to withdraw the signature.

Has any agency counted the number of people who died in Darfur? I mean is there an official number? How could you know if one million people died and not 10,000 as the Sudanese government says? I believe people's lives should be respected anywhere, not only in Sudan. Ok, What's the limit of people's lives beyond which the ICC will try Israel? Sudan has 35 million people living. So according to these info, 1 million people died as a result of the darfur problem?

The ICC is as Mr. Mohamad said an independent body, and not a UN organ. If this is the case, then countries have full choice whether to be members or not. If the Sudanese government is guilty, then the Sudanese people will be the ones to try the government, and not the ICC or Ocampo. And again what are these ugly bi-standards?
