For those who say that the GTX 300 series didn't exist for desktops better go to Nivida.com to see otherwise. They were only released to OEM machines and laptops. @0xXDeadmanXx0 That's a tesla card, it's suppose to enchants the CPU/GPU performance through the motherboard. The newest one, the NVIDIA Tesla Fermi card has one DV-I output.

And let me tell you something else... there's a big difference between these idiots that review those ATI cards and do the benchmarks on here verses real world scoring. My GTX 275's proved that hands down so if your a true NVIDIA fan you know that this has always been the way it's done. ATI always releases there crap first and then NVIDIA squashes it.....nuff said
looks like nvidia is running really late, every day that passes and they dont release any kind of dx 11 card means they lose big money to radeon and at an exponential rate
ATI sucks and the 5970 isn't as bad ass as you think. In fact there is a video around here on youtube showing 3 ATI 5870's in crossfireX benchmarked scored a 27790 in 3dMark Vantage. My 3 NVIDIA GTX 275's in Tri-SLI scored 28891 in 3dMark Vantage, so ATI DX11 cards suck balls they can't even beat 200 series cards, so what do you think the 300 series will do.....let me help you they will destroy those 5000 and 6000 series all to hell.
It is already January, does anyone knows when will nvidia release their 300 series cards, or should I get gtx 275 for now but it will not support DirecX 11 for windows 7 and it'll be waste of money if they release the new ones next month or so. My core i7 system is all built except the video card. Should I wait for the new nividia?
no way in hell dude wait to upgrade i upgraded from a 8800gt to a gtx 280 there was not a big difference at i am runing a q6700 on a 780i with 4gb of ram and boy was buying the gtx 280 a waste of money
I agree it is a waste of mony, my brother has a $900 hp desktop with 9500gs card and he is playing modern warfare 2 all day long, and when I tell him about gtx 275 or 295 card he just laughs at me and tell me that it is just a marketing game. So I think i'm just gonna get a gtx 260 for now.
@redflw i had gtx 260 they are very good cards for the money. but if you want to be future proof id buy one of the midrange ATI radeons in the 5800 or 5700 series.
@sammynicholas 8800gt is still pretty fast. I run crysis and etc without any problems on it, and I don't waste hundreds of dollars in the process. Which is mostly because 8800 is basically same performance as 9800, and anything in the 200 series is still absurdly overpriced.
What are you talking about? A 260 is below 200 euros, mine was about 235 when I bought it early last year and in comparison to the 400 euros for an 8800 GTX I bought in 2007, July, it's not that expensive at all.
@Sujad 200 euros is about $450 where I am. I can pickup a 8800gt for more like $100.
I have no idea why you'd pay something like $900 for a 8800GTX, but you got ripped.
It's a good point anyway. the 8800 series was just as expensive when new. The point is that you're better of buying a series or two back from the newest because they still run things fine without having exorbitant prices.
Telling me I got ripped off because the pricing of something in America different to euros is useless because of conversation rates.
I didn't feel ripped off at all as it gave me some solid performance but for the 235 euros it cost me to get the 260, it was money well spent in my opinion.
Well actually that is Australia, not America. Anyway, maybe everything is more expensive there or something. I still think it's worth waiting unless you have a serious need for computing power. If you look at the very latest gpus/cpus they always tend to be a few hundred dollars higher than even the previous series, despite not an equal increase in performance in many cases.
There was a gap of about five years from my older P4 rig with it's 6800GT to the Q6600 and the 8800GTX (now a 260) and the difference was pretty noticeable and was becoming more and more necessary as I found myself needing to lower the settings on more and more games. Particularly those requiring multiple cores to play properly. My monthly disposable income is about 1,000 euros so saving up for a new rig this summer won't be that big of a deal.
@Qube5k Not many gamers nowadays still uses 22inch or below...
24inch+ is a must have! 24Inch LCD 1920x1080 only cost 140GBP and absolutly ideal! And who says anything over 22 inch is laggy? Just depends on how much you are willing to spend on you sig....Thats all! Btw 30 inch are now starting at just 425GBP...!
There are rumors due to GTX395 may come out before GTX380 due to the way NVIDIA had been doing for years, try to release the top notch as soon as possible with limited stock, so the price goes shooting through the roof!
Wow how did u know about the release dates, anyways march is too far away for me, what do u think, should I get a gts 250 for now then.
here is my system specs: Gigabyte ud3r, core i7 920, corsair dominator, antec 750watt, lg blue ray drive, 1tb wd hard drive, and hopefully a gts 250 or 260.
@illmagnified you obviously have no idea what you're talking about. Stop thinking only about memory capacity, which is claimed for 1GB for this card, and start doing some research.
Not to mention that this video is complete crap, considering that nvidia hasn't released any information about their new line of cards yet. You don't even know if they're going to call them the GTX 300 series. All the information about these cards are based upon rumors.
The current Radeon HD5*** series cards use a 256-bit bus.
When you're using GDDR5 vRAM, 256-bit bus is more than wide enough.
These GF100 core Geforce cards will be using 384bit like the old G80's had, with 512 CUDA cores. And we should expect to see a cut down version of this with 448 CUDA cores and probably a 320bit bus.
god dammit right after i get a gtx 275 several months ago. anyway, why wont the current gtx have dx11 support? that pisses me off, have the dam support for dx11 a conserable time before the games come out.
I still have a 9800GX2(similar performance to a GTX 280), do you think it is going to be worth the money to upgrade to a 300 series when it comes out?
The GTX 285 and 295's were produced quickly on purpose. They have had the 300 series kept secret but they will be unleashed and will surprise everyone. You'll see ;)
nvidia has CUDA, great if you even care about it. ati has eyefinity, stream processing it is used for everything and ati, has DX11 and the only 40nm cards. they also have much lower prices that NVIDIA could never compete with, ATI also has cooler temps when running the cards at idle and max temps. the ATI cards also have higher overclock potential. So even if NVIDIA does release a great card they won't be able to turn a profit because it will cost as much as a Tesla card. for half the power.
the thing is, the market will probably follow the dynamic it always has. nVidia will release far faster cards than ATI, but at a higher price. ATI will stick to competing in price, something nvidia cannot do. Enthusiasts and nvidia loyals will go to nvidia, and ATI will be beaten out in power. However, for budget hunters, ATi will be the best choice. For power and performance, nvidia will be the one to go to. The cooling and overclocking cannot be judged yet.
Oh, Great but HD 6000 series coming out also... maybe it is a Rumor or what... anyway ATI R800 series is the best choice currently. and GTX 295 can beat 5870 but not 5970.
Radeon has always been better then Nvidea, all the graphics display nicer, radeon has faster clock speeds more ram gddr5 was released and nvideo was still running gddr 2 just introducing gddr 3 give me a break radeon is cheaper, overclocks faster, runs cooler, runs quieter, performs better, and looks way nicer RADEON is better then nvidea and always has been always will be. Look up all the specs on cards and you will see. at GPU Reviews (.)com you can compare. i am right.
Idiot, typical idiot, Radeon's card perform way faster and are way cheaper, Radeon doesn't need to try to beat nvidea because they already have for every 10 people with radeon cards 2 people have invidea, look! the 300 series will be like 950 dollars, radeons card that's equivalent to that which is already out lmfao, is only like 550, and when that 300 comes out radeon will already have some way way better
Nvidia fanboy's need 2 shut the fuck up, as soon as the 300 series is out, ATi will drop prices if the HD5870 and drop kick Nvidia's ass into bankruptcy. btw i'm a ATi fan boy. also the GTX300 series will be overpriced and have shit unoptimized drivers for like 6 mounths.
Hence the biased comment. The GTX300 series will be far more advanced than ATI's 58xx series, so they WILL be more expensive. I've tried the 5850, and it's a wonderful card, but the drivers were awful. I sold it. Can't believe you're complaining over Nvidia drivers when you're using crappy ATI drivers. I've used both, and ATI's a much worse. I'm really looking forward to the GTX300 series. Nvidia are expensive because they're the best. There is no such thing as a GPU for noobs.
you must have downloaded the drivers for the 4850 you retarded n00b boy, Nvidia are expensive because the fanboys are prepared to waste money, ATi beats Nvidia now, come ahead GTX 300 series. Ati will always have a better price to performance ratio. also bioshock 2 will be released at the same time as the GTX300, you guys will have crap buggy drivers 4 that coming out. nuff said.
You have a point, but not really. I downloaded the specific drivers for the ATI 5850. ATI is "winning" right now because they are one generation ahead of what Nvidia has currently released. The GTX 300 series will bring Nvidia up to the 58xx generation.
Actually! There's one comment! The price of the 5970 is low compared to the bang for the buck you get. The GTX 295 is 4/5the price of the 5970, but is only half as powerful! That is what i would like to call bang for the buck!(On the ATI side)
The main reason i am not getting a ati is coz of power usage and how much heat they produce they say the 300's will have no more power usage than the current 295 and i think ill spend a extra £100 quid more just to be a posh git with a 300 card
Lol, that's probably one of the most ignorant comments I have read. The best ATI card out, the 5970, is only at 60C at max load, not only that, it can OC by 20% on stock cooling. Also, about the power usage statement, the 5970 uses less power than the gtx 295, the gtx 295 uses 507watts under load and the 5970 uses 463watts under load. That's 44 watts difference... o, and it's approximately 50% faster in almost every game, so for 100 dollars extra, you can get a 50% better card...
Your a dumb ass if you buy hardware based on loyalism instead of raw performance. I've owned cards from the series of both, Radeon X1000, Radeon HD 3000, Geforce 6000, 8000, 9000. I even plan on getting the 5870. Also the 5870 is a single GPU compared to the GTX 295's Dua GPU. Only thing Nvidia has going for it is CUDA and Physx, but you can do Physx with ATI with a nvidia card and patched/old nvidia drivers. Also physx will phase out in favor of Havok. Most AAA and AA games use it.
butin a long shot this is a downgrade if its using onl 256 bit mem bus i mean look at the gtx 285 it uses 512 bus
if anything nvidia is all about upgrading and taking it to the next level sodowngrading the mem bus is a very bad thing to do i he3ardthat they will be using a 385 mem bus but its still not enough we need a 512 bit bus gddr5 craphcis card thats able to own games like crysis easily at about 120 fps without using sli or any scaling
For those who say that the GTX 300 series didn't exist for desktops better go to Nivida.com to see otherwise. They were only released to OEM machines and laptops. These GF100 core Geforce cards will be using 384bit like the old G80's had, with 512 CUDA cores. And we should expect to see a cut down version of this with 448 CUDA cores and probably a 320bit bus.
lespaulzrule 2 years ago
@lespaulzrule what the hell are you talking about, i was referring to the HD2900 XT which had a 512bit bus and was a piece of art.

Zanith50 2 years ago
Even if the GTX300 is so good you say in your video, the 5870 is still better
johnie1992 2 years ago
not really. i think the 5970 compared to the 380, the 380 wins with the benchmarks. just look at the comparisons
ZEZgamer 2 years ago
Yea maybe.... are these cards on the market? or when are they comming out??
johnie1992 2 years ago
they're coming Q1 apparently and will be showed at the CES. im looking forward for th cards though, they seem very well thought through.
ZEZgamer 2 years ago
if those specs are right, what price tag do you think nvidia will slam on it. as nvidia goes price/performance ratio is terrible. atleast 700£
tehhalders 2 years ago
hopefully not, i need some money left over when i buy it lol

god dammit right after i get a gtx 275 several months ago. anyway, why wont the current gtx have dx11 support? that pisses me off, have the dam support for dx11 a conserable time before the games come out.

Well I want to see what the real world numbers on this card will be and the price tag, that's IF! any of that is true..

fermi update and changes
448 SPs instead of 512
1.25 - 1.4 ghz shader
1.8 - 2.0 ghz memory ddr5 (384bit)
1x 6pin and 1x 8pin power connector (225w)
we can expect the price to be high obviously and probably be out by april hopefully.

256-bit? the gtx 280 was 512-bit why would they reduce that?

I still have a 9800GX2(similar performance to a GTX 280), do you think it is going to be worth the money to upgrade to a 300 series when it comes out?

rock962000 2 years ago
nvidia has CUDA, great if you even care about it. ati has eyefinity, stream processing it is used for everything and ati, has DX11 and the only 40nm cards. they also have much lower prices that NVIDIA could never compete with, ATI also has cooler temps when running the cards at idle and max temps. the ATI cards also have higher overclock potential. So even if NVIDIA does release a great card they won't be able to turn a profit because it will cost as much as a Tesla card. for half the power.
Nomad16343 2 years ago
the thing is, the market will probably follow the dynamic it always has. nVidia will release far faster cards than ATI, but at a higher price.

Oh, Great but HD 6000 series coming out also... maybe it is a Rumor or what... anyway ATI R800 series is the best choice currently. and GTX 295 can beat 5870 but not 5970.

by the time 6970 is here a gtx 380 will be spankin ati like every ther video card generation. i wish amd+ati never happend.

Look up all the specs on cards and you will see. at GPU Reviews (.)com you can compare. i am right.

Ive always been a Nvidia fanboy since the day I first learned what a graphic card was....
Nvidia FTW!
mike22490 2 years ago
ey forget ati
ati never can beat Nvidia
they are trying it how long
they wanted to bring first the first dx10 graficcard and then when the GF cards came out with dx10 they got loose again
with dx 11 will be the same thing
sry bout my english :P
PortugalFlavour 2 years ago
Idiot, typical idiot, Radeon's card perform way faster and are way cheaper, Radeon doesn't need to try to beat nvidea because they already have for every 10 people with radeon cards 2 people have invidea, look! the 300 series will be like 950 dollars, radeons card that's equivalent to that which is already out lmfao, is only like 550, and when that 300 comes out radeon will already have some way way better
NAtechrev 2 years ago

nvidia has better Benchmark than Ati

Nvidia fanboy's need 2 shut the fuck up, as soon as the 300 series is out, ATi will drop prices if the HD5870 and drop kick Nvidia's ass into bankruptcy. btw i'm a ATi fan boy. also the GTX300 series will be overpriced and have shit unoptimized drivers for like 6 mounths.
Nvidia's 4 n00bs
jasonf81 2 years ago
Hence the biased comment. The GTX300 series will be far more advanced than ATI's 58xx series, so they WILL be more expensive. I've tried the 5850, and it's a wonderful card, but the drivers were awful. I sold it. Can't believe you're complaining over Nvidia drivers when you're using crappy ATI drivers. I've used both, and ATI's a much worse. I'm really looking forward to the GTX300 series. Nvidia are expensive because they're the best. There is no such thing as a GPU for noobs.
nuttynerd 2 years ago 3
you must have downloaded the drivers for the 4850 you retarded n00b boy, Nvidia are expensive because the fanboys are prepared to waste money, ATi beats Nvidia now, come ahead GTX 300 series. Ati will always have a better price to performance ratio. also bioshock 2 will be released at the same time as the GTX300, you guys will have crap buggy drivers 4 that coming out. nuff said.
jasonf81 2 years ago
You have a point, but not really. I downloaded the specific drivers for the ATI 5850. ATI is "winning" right now because they are one generation ahead of what Nvidia has currently released. The GTX 300 series will bring Nvidia up to the 58xx generation.
nuttynerd 2 years ago
you talk about overpriced
you just have to watch the price of a 5970?
is that lowpriced?
dont think so
and you can see how many mhz needs a ati card to beat a nvidia card..lets see nvidia gtx 295 has normaly 570mhz and the 5970 has 850mhz
wow
OC the nvidia up to 850mhz and you see ati is loosing again...and the 300 series dont will have to put it up to 850mhz and will beat ati again
and again and again
I was a ati fanboy too and now a nvidia fanboy cause nvidia is much better with no comments
PortugalFlavour 2 years ago 2
Actually! There's one comment! The price of the 5970 is low compared to the bang for the buck you get. The GTX 295 is 4/5the price of the 5970, but is only half as powerful! That is what i would like to call bang for the buck!(On the ATI side)

syawriave21111317 2 years ago
The main reason i am not getting a ati is coz of power usage and how much heat they produce they say the 300's will have no more power usage than the current 295 and i think ill spend a extra £100 quid more just to be a posh git with a 300 card
maxfromtamworth 2 years ago
Lol, that's probably one of the most ignorant comments I have read. The best ATI card out, the 5970, is only at 60C at max load, not only that, it can OC by 20% on stock cooling. Also, about the power usage statement, the 5970 uses less power than the gtx 295, the gtx 295 uses 507watts under load and the 5970 uses 463watts under load. That's 44 watts difference... o, and it's approximately 50% faster in almost every game, so for 100 dollars extra, you can get a 50% better card...
TheMrVogue 2 years ago
will nvidia release 450W gpu in 300 series???
xxxyboy3000 2 years ago 2
Ati is the biggest shit i´ve ever saw, NVIDIA RULES!
the new ati series is better than gtx295 but the gtx295 is how old? 1 or 2 years?
and the new ati hd5970 is 10% or 20% faster? That´s not so good!
Marcel0712 2 years ago
@Marcel0712: ya dude & ATI also do not have awesome technologies like Physx
xxxyboy3000 2 years ago
Yeah, and don´t forget CUDA^^
Marcel0712 2 years ago 2
Your a dumb ass if you buy hardware based on loyalism instead of raw performance. I've owned cards from the series of both, Radeon X1000, Radeon HD 3000, Geforce 6000, 8000, 9000. I even plan on getting the 5870. Also the 5870 is a single GPU compared to the GTX 295's Dua GPU. Only thing Nvidia has going for it is CUDA and Physx, but you can do Physx with ATI with a nvidia card and patched/old nvidia drivers. Also physx will phase out in favor of Havok. Most AAA and AA games use it.

thanks uploader for this info
butin a long shot this is a downgrade if its using onl 256 bit mem bus i mean look at the gtx 285 it uses 512 bus
if anything nvidia is all about upgrading and taking it to the next level sodowngrading the mem bus is a very bad thing to do i he3ardthat they will be using a 385 mem bus but its still not enough we need a 512 bit bus gddr5 craphcis card thats able to own games like crysis easily at about 120 fps without using sli or any scaling
