@sincityracer1 I'm not 100% of the 1/4 result for an Agera R, but I know it's car that just gets faster and faster.
So it might actually lose out at the 1/4 mile, but it doesn't slow down going faster.
So perhaps someone is good at math but, the Agera R reaches 200mph in 17,68 seconds which is record time, wonder if someone can figure out 1/4 mile time it might have and at what mph that 1/4 would be finished at.

But the usual distance for a dragrace is the 1/4 or a 1/2 mile.and there it is hard to find a stockcar with better results! 200mp/h is close to the topspeed of the S1000RR and of course there the accleration will flatten

Not only are most of you not accounting for fluids, gas and driver weight [for both vehicles] that contribute to different power to weight ratios but you're also forgetting available grip of the tires, drag coefficients, gearing and torque values.
The bike is clearly faster but the comparison is pointless. It's like putting a cheetah up against a wildebeest. Sure they can both run fast but the cheetah is a completely different breed.
Dumb. All about power:weight. Any run of the mill 1000 cc bike could outrun that vette off the line. A better side-by-side would be putting the bike next to an F-22 Raptor that does 0-60 in 1.12 sec & is airborne in a little over a quarter mi.

@carbonrrpilot Watch his tachometer. He takes off at 10,000 rpm and then drops it back down to the 6,000 range for a few seconds to screw with the vette. He then takes it to around the 13,000 rpm range and just smokes that vette! LOL
Too obvious the bike would win, its faster than the Busa. At 179 rwhp and only weighing 400 pounds dry weight, its crazy quick. The Vette weighs 3,340 lbs (stock zr1) so in order for the power-to-weight ratio to be fair, the Vette would need approximately 1500 HP. I think at that HP, the bike would get smoked due to higher HP and torque in top gears.

Umm ... totally not a fair test. The bike had a pro rider and a team of mechanics in its favor, while the Corvette had a TV show host at the wheel and no tuning whatsoever. I suspect even in a fair test, the S1000RR would win, but still.

BMW S1000RR 0-60 at 2.7 sec.
Agera R 0-60 2.9 sec
S1000RR did a test at 9,93 sec 1/4 mile and was fastest among stock super bikes.
Agera R does it in 9.3 seconds. The Agera R just keeps on going though and reaches 200mph in that record 17.68 sec.
So I'd say they are pretty equal for 1/4, but the Agera doesn't let up speed the higher it goes, so it wins out that way.

But then I realized i'm going to have to spend a hell of a lot of money to do that. Umm ... totally not a fair test. The bike had a pro rider and a team of mechanics in its favor, while the Corvette had a TV show host at the wheel and no tuning whatsoever. I suspect even in a fair test, the S1000RR would win, but still.

@PutU2REM the corvette was tuned, did u not see its rear brake lights and bumper? it looks like that of a ferrari 360 modena for more aerodynamics plus the front splitter and lighter wheels as well as 700hp which is not standard. read the description before you criticize mate.

@zafir24 You're absolutely right, but in my defense, what I meant and what I wrote were distressingly far apart. I wasn't trying to say that the Vette was stock, just that it didn't have a team of Dodge technicians laboring over it right before the race.
Technicians or not, however, it was still a contest between a pro on the bike he's been racing vs. host in a car with which he has only a passing acquaintance. My assertion stands: not fair.

When bike = 200 kg and 200 HP = 1 HP/Kg
So you have twice as much and in that case it does not matter who is the driver...

@LscAndrew Well pointed out, although the same goes for the car driver weight, but of course he will proportionaly have a lesser, but not totally neglegible effect on the car performance. A friend of mine keeps quoting his GSXR1000 dry weight figures. I tell him they are worthless as without fuel,oil and a rider it wont be beating anything LOL..!!

@LscAndrew 183kg Dry Weight....so add the fluids! Thought i'd fuck up the math even more! Seems like the only point of these power/weight posts! In a drag Race Torque is also a factor! A car with 500bhp can drop this bike! If it was tuned for torque though, Motorcycles don't have allot of torque!

@ToffieBoer Yes , thats right - a bike got less torque but at that moment when it reach enough rpm the torque doesn`t matter ! Exception : The first 500 feet the car got a advantage ! Here you see a tuned car with 700hp and a lot of torque and a better start but after a few seconds the bike was in front ! Why should a 5oohp car do what this 700hp car was not able to do ? Bike: (ready for run with rider) : 1,4Kg /Ps ! Vette :(Dry without driver > 2Kg/Ps ! Watch the result in this race

@sincityracer1 I meant the torque of the car.... a 500BHP car could beat this bike if it had 1000nm of Torque! look at modern rally cars! Regulated to 300bhp but with around 750nm of Torque! They are tuned for max Torque! If this car is pushing 700BHP with say 500nm of Torque...that explains why it lost! Dammit man im not here to fight but do some research before you make comments! HorsePower isn't everything!!!!! True Story >.<

But after max.500 feet the car would reach the point of max torque and then its over !It may help you to give you a fast start but to longer the distance to less important the torque is ! I don´t need to research ,I `ve been a student of technology and know about this topic and got practical experiences enough! Gimme datas or a vid where your hightorquecars (500hp)do the 200Km/h in 6,5 sec or the 1/4 mile in under 9 sec.!I bet you`ll find nothing!

@ulquiorragrimmjow no, you're wrong. The reason we often do is: kg/hp, therefore, Vette is a 2kg/hp vehicle and BMW bike is an aproximatelly 0,98kg/hp bike. Twice faster and greater than the Vette. But that's almost the same reasult in the end line....BMW wins! hehe
