@AniMeagan This is not one of her stronger arias. Caballe excels in the pianissimo-forte control of her voice and breath. Gina Colao Decker, on the other hand (a new-comer) , has the purer voice on all ranges as well as that beautiful chest voice on the lower range, which lends sensuality to this well-loved aria.

callas tambien era muy buena probablemente sea las 2 mejores voces,pero hubo un concierto para comprobar quien tenia la mejor voz canto callas y montserrat y todo fue perfecto salvo una cosa,cuando canto monserrat empezo a soplar viento en teoria tendria que haberse oido mas vajo o apenas oirse porque el viento desplaza la voz.No solo se ollo,sino que canto explendidamente,los criticos conclulleron que su voz tenia que ser impresionante para conseguir eso y por lo tanto mas alta

@lorena36600 Chica, tú no puedes compararme a Montserrat con Callas, Sólo tienes que hacer un giro a la historia, Callas fue, es y será siempre la REINA de la Ópera, por muy bien que cante Montserrat, Callas fue y es mucho más internacional y la potencia y el eco de la voz siempre ha sido insuperable, así como su imagen, belleza y elegancia en todos los sentidos.

This was a fabulous Habanera from Caballe; I don't know if she ever sang Carmen on stage (to my knowledge she didn't) sopranos have sung Carmen as much as mezzos. I personally prefer a mezzo but certain sopranos have done wonders with Carmen: Callas, Leontyne Price, Jessye Norman & Angela Gheorgiu. I'm sure Caballe's Carmen was/would have been terrific. She's Spanish, the character of Carmen is Spanish, that would bring a lot to the role.
