I LOVE THIS! I saw Chris Robinson and Paul Stacy play this at Bimbo's in San Francisco in 2002. As a testament to Chris' amazing talent, he took this sappy pop song and made it truly profound. That show was highlight after highlight, but this was the song that was most memorable. It was magic. I can only imagine that Chris was hanging out with Kate, listening to a Carpenters record, smoking and laughing, and they thought this would be a cool cover. Well it sure is!!!
Thanks for sharing this one! I heard him play this in Toronto when he played a show at the Phoenix... I fell in love with his version immediately. I've been looking for it ever since -- even contacted the record label about it! Thanks!!! :)
My brother and I heard this version on August 23rd 2002, it was mind blowing. One of the best shows we have ever seen, he also covered Ray Charles' I Got a Woman.
OMG! What and amazing version of this... Chris is so Soulful, some of the vocals sound Stevie Wonder like... This is my all time favorite version of this song!!!! I'm a big NEM fan but don't have this tune... Obviously on ly done LIVE... Anybody know the show this is from??? Perhaps I e-mail my spanish poster
Paula, the day after you lost your phone, was sitting around with friends and we listened to this.
Wow it was an intense listen, you are a more than worthy protagonist for this song. Thinking of you. Jay x
