Not only entertainment (though they are indeed funny in a tragicomic way) but also propaganda. To what extent it works, I leave to history, but I do fear it has some influence. And their corny world view is what Fox wants to pass off as being fair and balanced. Just watch a couple of interviews with Murdoch, he's evil, but he isn't smart enough to let his subordinates do all the stupid talk.
