  • Look at the frenzy Lin is causing! If Pete came along today, then ESPN would start each show w/his highlights....but they would run out of time. LOL

  • You wish Kobe is in Pete's class. I would call Kobe the poor man's Pistol.

  • If Jordan was the greatest, then Pistol was the most exciting.

  • 3:20 WHAT THE FUCK

  • "You don't get here by just wishin." Great quote and not only true for basketball but for almost everything.

  • ...Only thing I wish.. if Pete was alive & young again.. Will see how even better he would be when he has $200 shoes given to him night In night Out...! Money on PeTe everytime. If only CELTICS would have drafted or traded for him.. Thats why this video gets me everytime, Celtics Famous H.C. having Pete so a few tricks, point being Pete would have titles and Celtics holy crap untouchable...

  • Greatest to ever touch a basketball Bill Russell(11 TITLES) & Mr. Pistol Pete Maravich(Untouchable Records in College including no 3pt line and STILL avged. 44.2 pts per game) and because of his pure showtime ability anywhere even with rain, sleet, snow or natural disaster.(the moves others wouldn't even think about it, to risky. But for a man that many say had the basketball on a string like a yo-yo. (you can also if you wanted Oscar Rogertson, Elgin Baylor in there too)

  • @Iconhulk Pete was a master of the ball...like you said...the ball was like a yo-yo to him. Hes up there with Jordan in my opinion.

  • it takes something special to make passing look that good

  • this man is so smooth!!

  • All the people that i admire all have mustaches. Pistol pete, freddie mercury and adolf hitler.

  • @Robinqq11 lol yes...you forgetting adam morrison?

  • Rubio has that same quality of putting the ball in a place it couldn't seem to go. the predictions that rubio could pass and assist like pete have some basis. as a scorer though, he isn't in the conversation with pete...pete made you pay if laid off him, he's knock it down..rubio doesn't have that right now.

  • Ricky Rubio is the next... Ricky Rubio. He is a good player.

  • If I hear another person say Ricky Rubio is the next Pete Maravich I will tear is mouth off

  • Such a beautiful jump shot. A 6'5" guard with great lift on a quick jump shot. He would be a great scorer even today.

  • best play ironically enough is @ 4:20

  • You should have played written in the stars it goes perfect with this

  • Greatest Serbian american player ever. He is the reason that basketball is as entertaining as it is today.

  • The best who ever played, back when it took talent and hard work, not just being 300 pounds and buffaloing your way to the basket.

  • Fastest gun in the west

  • 39.570?you don't know legendary...

  • who ever the one dislike is fuck you

  • Love the video, but the music is terrible.

  • @bwredder Suggestions:

    1.)Mute the video.

2.)Play some Lil' Weezy or some other shit...whatever suits you.

    3.)Enjoy.

  • @92ridethelightning92 Your response is almost as boring as the music in this video. But thanks!

  • @bwredder Oh no! Somebody call the "waaaambulance"!

I will admit that the Green Day/Oasis combination does suck.

  • The best video ever. Great footage Pistol Pete GREATEST OFFENSIVE PLAYER EVER!!! . Great music too Boulevard of Broken Dreams great song, Wonderwheel great song, but the mashup is the greatest song ever!

  • I'm tired of hearing of Michael Jodan being the best, the best to me is this man Pistol Pete Maravich his moves were so unorthodox and initiative and was a improviser then any other. Boy, my new school is starting it's first basketball team and I'm going to get captain status, then we will win the local championship then I will dedicate a video to Pistol Pete Maravich for helping me and I will do that.

  • @Chooify congrats on that with your school but what the fuck are you talking about saying pete is better than michael smh nig u crazy as fuck lol

  • @iverson4mvp3 My pro opinion dude. I don't care if MJ Can dunk Pistol Pete can shoot and run better and has better tricks no disrespect I did not come here to argue.

  • great legend gone too soon :'(

  • Pistol Pete Made Street Ball...

  • wish i was alive back then so i could've seen pete play

  • imagine how much he would have scored with a three point line

  • o kaliteros xiristis tis mpalas itan

  • This guy was the original showtime! Even magic admits that. He was something to see in his prime. I'm tired of people saying he is no Michael Jordan! Of course he is no Jordan, but In his prime, he would make Jordans head spin for sure.

  • @tank3ful

    I agree...

for sure he was another type of player...but his shot was beyond everything what we see today or ever have seen....I mean - just consider- he also hit shots from beyond half court with regularity...who could do so today...

  • @Felixx17Felissimo

His shooting stroke was well respected, to say the least, but I think it is a stretch to say he hit shots beyond half court "with regularity." He did have extended range, past the college three point line, but no one can regularly shoot 50 footers.

  • @tank3ful Exactly! Great to see someone plus 18 of you see the light..

  • @tank3ful Jordan and a lot of other players got their moves from Maravich.

  • @yogd4life of course..

  • 4:14 is my favorite... froze em

  • it's Derrick Rose! in the negative monotone thingy....with more hair!

  • @3:23

What the hell ass just happened

  • If the 3 point shot was around when Pistol was at LSU he would have averaged 60 points a game easy. His 44+ career average is STILL the NCAA record. His still NCAA record of almost 3,700 career points is even more amazing, considering freshman were prohibited from playing on the varsity in Pete's day.

  • el creador del showtime en la nba

  • I was only 1 when he passed away. Still... I miss him.

    The original

  • They called him Pistol for a reason, he was a GUN.

  • pistol pete is the reason why my ultimate goal in playing basketball is to become a good basketball player!

    r.i.p. pistol pete

  • they literally invented the 3 pointer because of him and he was one of the first to do a slam dunk

  • @rugbyfan0025 Err..Pistol is one helluva player but the two comments are not true.

  • @PharaohNnamdi that's funny because i have an entire sports illustrated article talking about it but i guess some random basketball fan probably knows more than people who have researched all about pistol pete and studied basketball all their lives...

  • @rugbyfan0025 Yeah maybe it is funny. But it's funny how Sports Illustrated would neglect to say something like that on THEIR own website:

    goo(dot)gl/0dVVT

And what do you mean by "they literally invented the 3 pointer because of him?" There are many sources you can check that will disprove that claim. Its origins date back to the 30's. Made famous by the ABA and the NBA adopted it only after it merged with the ABA. Yeah it's funny...

  • imagine pistol pete in todays game haha alleys all the time n sick passes

  • Caught myself saying 'Holy' an awful lot watching this. Nice!

  • rondo with a jumper

  • This made me realize that Kobe Bryant is not the new Michael Jordan, He's the black Pistol Pete.

  • he was the and1 mixtape legend before there was and1. shit is crazy

  • 2:00 totally badass.

  • Best basketball player of all time!

  • So underrated.

  • This motherfucker is all control. after you think he got himself into a postion he cant get out of slowly finds away to score the ball

  • @chrisquintero23 always calm

  • then some george thurgood, btw Pistol Pete is awesome

  • the audio isn't creed, it's boulevard of flashing lights mashup

  • RIP Pete Maravich...thug life

  • this is a real life ed monix from semi-pro

  • @son8of8vazkor Pete was offered 1 million dollars to play for the Harlem Globetrotters when he finished his college career but turned them down because he wanted to play in the NBA.

  • This music is depressing.

  • no three point line and he still averaged 40 a game

  • @chicagofan1234567890 Imagine what he could do with the 3 point line.

  • @ 5:37 Pistol originated the elbow sleeve too, Iverson copied it. Lol, jk

  • What song 6:06?????

  • @Iwanproskill Arrowsmith. Steven Tyler singing.

  • Originator of the "dimes" and "pump pass/shooting", a man well ahead of his time. People had no idea you could play basketball like that.

  • Jimmer who? Pistol Pete is the man

  • @ballersession Pistol Pete forever.

  • he was the originator of the point guard flip and look away pass to show off hahaha

  • It would have been so exciting and challenging to play with him; you'd have to be on your toes because a pass could come at any time!

  • @ OnParr YOU ARE AWESOME!

  • great mix brah. creed though, really?

  • what's the name of the song from 1:45? thanks in advance

  • @Manfander i've found it, ZZ Top - La Grange :))

  • Those "shovel passes" are absolutely INCREDIBLE!!

  • 3:20 was the most insane pass ive ever seen

  • without a doubt he could play in the nba nowadays...man he was making all those crazy moves back when no one else could! i can't imagine what the guys he played against must have thought first seein' that madness!

  • It really is crazy the stuff he was doing more than a decade before the showtime Lakers, with no 3 point line and stricter rules about palming. This guy was unreal.

  • great video. Pistol made today's nba as exciting as it is.

  • Watched him play in the Dome. He set the bar REALY HIGH.

  • Move at 4:19 is godlike.

  • he was the first modern type player.

  • Comment removed

  • Skills!

  • Oh My God. This man was incredible. NOBODY can do the stuff he is doing here. NOBODY.

  • c est koi la musique de fin

  • his game was so crispy. I remember watching old clips of Maravich when I was a kid and immitating them on the court.

  • whats the last song being played in the video?

  • @ipodder77 it's the the chorus of "sing for the moment-eminem"

  • @CharlieC1331 Lol. The chorus for Sing For The Moment is Dream On by Aerosmith. Come on man.

  • @pohlerk you're right, thanks

  • Isnt 1:50 Illegal???

  • He shoulda been a LAKER!

  • "You don't get here by just wishin" Well said

  • love that shot

  • The best player ever to play this game.

  • pete was the greatest, without a doubt

  • I quit watching basketball after his passing, it just was not fun any more. Loved Pete.

  • first comment! pistol pete is my fav hes the reason i started to play basketball. guys truely a legend
