ok for people who dont know this if you collect all 30 blue coins in bionco hills in the different stages  you get a shine sprite for that and incase anyone says "wait if you have to change stages wont i lose my blue coins" no you wont and that is how bianco hills and other places have 12 shine sprites

How are there 12? There's 8 Shines for the levels/episodes, 2 Secret Shines, and the 100 Coin Shine. That only adds up to 11.
