So yes, a belt does help you do more weight when you don't have the core strength or technique to do well without it.

Well said and I agree. You clearly pointed out the big difference between body building and strength training. Some kids, mind you, go way over their head and try to lift the whole gym because they see adults do it and they're big. But chances are, you can severely injure yourself that way and like you said, the back disc can get messed up resulting in stunt of growth. You get your main growth by 18 that's why I always tell kids to not lift too heavy, but maintain correct form.

To wit, do a google search for "youth strength training exrx" and you'll find an article on strength training for youths on the exrx website.

That's not a squat and you're gonna get yourself hurt kid. Try dropping the obvious bodyfat too. If you want real inspiration look at Derek Poundstone, or Tom Mutaffis. Those guys are real strong men and have very little bodyfat.

@MrHeavyMetalMaster no it was. there are 2 types of squats. parallel and negative. parallel is even with your ass, negative is going below it. youre supposed to go parallel with heavy weights and negative when youre trying to work out and build mussel
