@nopho4uxD your right but i must disagree for this is not just a peice it is a masterpeice, by far my favorite violin concerto of the romantic era if not my favorite of any era
@Stitch1137 obviously your teacher knows absolutly nothing! cause no one will ever be as great as Mr.Pearlman. and as jonchengic said you are overly full of yourself! no one in junior high (middle school) is as good as you say you are, because it takes alot of time and alot of learning , but most importantly it takes a lot of practice to become that geat of a violinist thats why hes so old. i fiddle as well but i assure you that no fiddle music will ever be as hard as a classical peice.
like honestly? how is music like this possible? i love playing this piece and just hearing Mr. Perlman makes me want to practice more. stay hesh friends
Yes... I fiddle. Fiddling is actually much harder than this classical stuff. And my violin teacher is a world class teacher. He's absolutely incredible. Much better than you I am sure..
@Stitch1137 Just from your claiming that Itzhak Perlman, one of the greatest violinists of all time, is "nothing special," you demonstrate that you know nothing about the art of violin. As disdainful as you are about Perlman's playing, he has more talent in his finger than you do in your entire body. Even if you're not classically trained, if you had even an ounce of violin training, you'd appreciate the sublime quality of Perlman's playing; you clearly have no idea what you're talking about.
I'm in junior high and my violin teacher told me that I'm incredible. I can play this song no problem... Idk why all u think he's so incredible... I play it too and I'm like a fraction of his age
@Stitch1137 it isn't how you play, is about how you make feel to the people who listen you, and i'm not sure if you're really good about the cadenza that perlman plays.
@Stitch1137 umm... I'm sorry to break it to ya but... you know NOTHING about classical music. And I think you should get a different violin teacher. One that's uh trained in classical music...not that fiddling stuff. But dont let me stop you from thinking your great, if it makes you happy.
@Stitch1137 really? when's your record coming out then? honestly i wouldn't be the least bit impressed with you if you can play this piece because you have no respect for the OGs
Words do not do this justice- if only we could all shut up for a minute! Not only is the piece itself stunning, but this guy- Itzhak- is something else! WOW
This is...undescribably good. The only thing is that they don't show Perlman at 9:02, which is one of the greatest single seconds of music in history.
@hichaeyeon so funny to see Itzhak Perlman referred to as "the soloist". Maybe the violin looks small as he his fingers are quite large (and he makes it all looks so fluidly easy).
no eletronics, no high teck gadgets, nothing but some paper, some wood and strings, and a few peices of metal. and tons of heart and soul. this is so beautiful i really want to play this my senior year. if im good enough.
@thebaker31100 yes, mate. you are so right. best comment i have ever read. if you can exprees yourself like this in your music i will purchase your c.d.
No special effect, no cheating. Just some pieces of wood or metal, some strings, talent and so much passion... It's so pure and perfect. When i hear that kind of wonders, i think of past, present, and future misfortunes of our word but i want to believe in humanity, i want to hope!
i love the tchaikovsky violin concerto, and i have heard many world famous musicians perform it, but i've yet to hear anyone play it as beautiful and as passionate as itzhak perlman. he adds a sweetness to it. my favorite part has to be at 2:00 when he just nails that harmonic perfectly.
@Atheneo4 Oh, come on... you're picking on someone for calling this a song? Really? There's a lot more to music than petty terminology! Bah... everyone I know always gets on my case when I call a song a piece, but that's just way beyond the point when talking about art!
I'm not a professional musician by any means - I love this piece and I love perlman. but if i'm not mistaken, at 5:09 the second note of the 'da da da' of the violin is flatter than it's supposed to be. I really could be wrong. anyone else hear it?
@Bruce88keys just relax bud - was asking an innocent question. i apologize for being below your lofty know-it-all level. maybe you should see someone about that insecurity issue you have...
@gabigluck you miss the point- thats not an innocent question- its like saying " i don't the Mona Lisa 'cause the frame is weird" like most people you feel you have to say some thing about which you know nothing, instead of hearing the the greatness of the whole....
@Bruce88keys at no point did i say i didn't like the piece - i've been listening to this peace since i was a kid and I love it! and if you read my original comment, i already claimed to not know a lot about the intricacies and specifics of the music. i heard one note which sounded unfamiliar and different to all other versions i've heard. at no point did i say the note was 'wrong' or that i dislike the piece because of that note. i was making an observation based on previous listening experience
@gabigluck I'm trying to convey in words something about our ego centered sense of things i.e.I like I dislike etc.. watching Perleman or any artist work, interactions with the conductor and orchestra split section adjustments in color sound and intonation transcend anything that is "supposed to be"
Unfortunately, the video is not on the best condition, and amputation of the grand final is a huge loss in this prodigious and excellent execution. BRAVO to Itzhak Perlman !!!
