  • THIS IS NOT STREET FIGHTER AGAIN FAGGOT, this is FANTASTIC 4 fix that

  • @omar1146 You're wrong here, too. Dhalsim is a character from Street Fighter who can stretch his limbs.

  • Of all the visual effects tutorials i have seen, i don't think i have seen any quite so magnificent for both usages of the practical and digital set up as this one, absolutely brilliant and so easy to understand. 10/10 without a doubt

  • it really took time for something that would apear in a few seconds, congrats!

  • Welcome to the world of Visual Effects.

  • a++++++++++++

  • This is without a doubt, the best fireball blast I've seen for a live action film. Just fantastic.

It also shows just how lazy the studio that worked on the live action Chun-Li film were.

  • You're sweet.

  • this is great :D

  • damn why isnt this movie in theaters

  • Very cool !

  • this is amazingly awesome

  • That fire ball Could have been done easy in 3d max, maya and after effects in no time.

  • True, but real fire always looks better and we can re-use that fire element in future projects.

  • wow!

  • hey what software did you used?? please tell me please please please

  • After Effects, but it could also be done in many compositing applications such as Nuke.

  • 5 stars, that's amazing.

  • freaking B R I L L I A N T

    ryu's 'fireball' for real

  • Why does EVERYONE pronounce Ryu's name wrong?!?! It's "Ree-yoo" not "Rye-yoo"!!! Jesus christ how do people not know that???

  • Only because most Westerners don't know the tiny differences in Japanese pronunciation. Happens all the time.

  • Do you have a more in-depth tutorial ?

  • u guys are sick!!..friggin awesome man!!..

  • what program did you guys use to make these effects?

  • Almost any program can do them. We used After Effects at the time. Now we use Nuke and Shake.

  • cool sauce

  • That is awesome

  • toooooooooooooo Nice!!!!

great job. I´m just curious how did u made the effects on underpants of zangief... LOL XDDDDDDDDDD

  • Zangief is entirely digital.

  • nice work guys!!

  • really fantastic. Congratulations.

  • say word

  • how did you turn the fire blue.can anyone please tell me

  • Desaturate the fire element. Shift the mid tones to bright, colorful blue. In Shake, I use the ColorMatch node. Screen it on top.

  • Your special effects are extremely impressive! I loved your work.

  • Great video, I love those cheesy thumbs up XD

  • hahaha that hadouken looks so cool, i wanna see hollywood make that xD

  • they covered the mirror so they we cant see it that its fake or real but they can do it on the mirrir to cant they

  • Whoops! Forgot about the mirror. NOOOOO!!!!

  • sometimes ryus hadouken is red as well u know

  • sweet i learned loads

  • i wanna see how they did the masking .

  • Wow that is simply amazing. I love all of your work and its great to see how much you care and dedication you put into the videos.

  • AWSOME

  • excellent work gentlemen.

  • when will we see parts 4&5?

  • That is sooo coool man! Choice.

  • Half circle forward does a red fireball!!!! what about that one?

  • Good question for College Humor.

  • your also supposed to see the users hands inside the hadouken.

  • We aim for a compromise between being faithful to the game and doing what would happen in real life. Fire in real life is 3D and would look strange with gaps revealing the hands behind it. Good times.

  • You are being pretty picky tbh :)

  • any software like this thats free?

  • Nope. The good software costs money. More importantly, the artists that run the software gotta pay the bills.

  • can you make a cool effect video with me in it

  • What's the software???

  • After Effects, though we've switched to Shake for our higher-end compositing.

  • i just wanna know how to do the heat distorshon step alone if i knew what software thsi was.

  • The distortion alpha particles were created in Lightwave 3D, but in the second shot we just used a blurred alpha from the fire elements to distort and blur. Next time we plan to shoot a live smoke element and use that.

  • Great insight! now we just need to know the software !

And soon we will see fireballs in all colors flying arround, hehe

  • i thought it was real... sheesh

  • This is some really great stuff. Very proffesional and realistic. 5/5 keep up the good work

  • dam that must've taken forever

  • Thats really cool and clever. What kind of software do you guys use for the special effects?

  • Thanks! Lightwave 3D 9.2, Shake 4.1, After Effects 6.5 Pro, Final Cut Pro, and Canon XL-2 for shooting elements.

  • cheers x

  • awsom stuff guys love all the work u all put n2 it... u hav a very large fan base of sf the later years... i bin thinkn bout it all day :D.... *vega tone* "its ok its ok" :P heheh u know wot i mean ? watch part 3 :)

  • wow! very interesting and cool clip. bravo!

  • Part 4, Part 4!! cant wait

  • what program did you use

  • Rumor: New Street Fighter episodes are in the works!

  • if only they would make part 4...

  • WOW thanks for this cool tutorial!

  • Nice. You should have some work by the time you get out.

  • fucking amazing. i hope you guys get a job out of this!

  • that is hot shit

    its really professional

  • cooool... butthe one thing you guys missed was putting in the light interaction on surrounding surfaces.

  • We actually had the crew shoot a light pass, but it didn't quite work out. With a little more time we could have done something digitally. Meh!

  • This is Hollywood material. And I don't say that much to alot of films on YouTube, infact this is the first. More power to you guys!

  • Not only do i think that 'Street fighter: the later years' is an original and incredibly funny idea, i also think its really great that you make videos such as this displaying how the visual effects are created.

Im at university doing a degree specialising in digital effects and animation and i find any video deomstrations such as this a great help and a massive inspiration.

    Keep em coming!

  • Wow that's a lot better then the camera flash they used in the Van Dam movie!

  • besser als der richtige film lol

  • I think hadouken was made um after effects.

  • Wow awesome. They did so much just to make a kick ass Hadouken.

  • well done and explained :)

  • good job, more pls.

  • kamehameha!!!

  • hey that was actually kind of a nice little behind the scenes clip, interesting stuff, love the actual videos by the way =P

  • Dude. I never thought of just going outside and lighting things on fire in the dark.

Go Ghostlight! Go Collegehumor! Go DutchWest!

  • nice hadouken

  • pretty cool

  • Dave and James are gods among men

  • Pretty cool demonstration, I think the special effects were good, and I thought the original clip was hilarious.
