i know its a little late for this reply... but the US Supreme Court ruled in both Texas v. Johnson, 491 U.S. 397 (1989) and United States v. Eichman, 496 U.S. 310 (1990) that burning the american flag is a form of free speech protected by the first amendment.. i wouldnt want to live in a country where id have to be afraid of being arrested for protesting aforementioned country. thats the definition of a "totalitarian state" where "free speech" is fine, unless you actually try to exercise it.
