It's a mix of genres, and for the most part -> melodeath. And children of bodom HAS taken influences from black metal - and there is no such thing as "extreme power metal" (officially) - it's Extreme Metal.

Also, with all this confusion, Laiho stated that the band "only plays metal". He said after, that he calls CoB "Extreme Power Metal".
