  • Gah, what's the music in the background? I remember hearing it before

  • @Tizaix Check out Philip Glass

  • So humanity that we all deal with is too complex for Dr. Manhattan, but the rest of the Universe isn't?

  • @rrekydoc Well if you could have his exact powers and wanted to go away from people as far away where you can hear nobody, space is a good place....by the way the universe is everything and is not complex at all because is just physical and astronomical events which he can understand because he is Dr.Manhattan, but humanity takes emotions which he can't understand because he is emotionally detached

  • Absolutely phenomenal movie that captured every single character. I'm so glad Dr. Manhattan was able to shine like he did in the comic book.

  • Im looking for the clip where he and the guy and he like why didn't you stop me can anyone give me a link to that clip

  • @MrEmeraldfusion watch?v=vAt3za6aN94&feature=related

  • He needs to speak up. I can honestly say after reading the book he would have a less quiet and mumbled voice. I imagine it clear yet subtle, not this.

  • @Hayaishin I personally thought he had the perfect voice for Dr. Manhattan. I read the comic book first and imagined it slightly different, but he did an excellent job.

  • @JnthnHuerta I never really read it in any pitch or tone I just meant how it is so quiet and murmured. I am sure someone who can walk across the surface of the sun and see events so small and so fast that you could hardly have said they had even happened could speak up a bit when he talks.

  • @Hayaishin why would some one who has those abilities speak at all.

  • @blackwingking9 Because he is still a man in a gods body.

  • @Hayaishin you do understand what you just said contradicts what he said, right?

"I do not think there is a god, and if there is i'm nothing like him" "I am not omniscient" he also confirms is not omnipresent or omnipotent.

  • @blackwingking9 It is a term or analogy. Like Zues or Hades. Neither are god but they both are called gods because they have extraordinary powers among man.

  • @Hayaishin again absolutely nothing of what you just said was true. Zeus and Hades are called Gods because they are Gods, the see everything on earth. Zeus Hades, Poseidon all control aspects of reality. You exist and live on this planet because they said so. ALSO THEY AREN'T MEN YOU MORON, nor are they extraordinary among them. What you described is called a hero, which is also not a god.

  • @blackwingking9 Ok first of all among was a typo I meant above so why don't you calm down on that. Second the term Gods isn't the same as the term God the way most people use it. People say the word God as an all powerful being that created everything and everyone no exceptions. Gods is a term referred to for Greek Mythology as many different God-like figures that each have a role and power to make things happen.

  • @Hayaishin who have complete control over an entire aspect of reality.

  • @blackwingking9 I am stating he is like a "God" because he can do god like things like controlling matter, looking into the future, Teleport, become more than 1 body, basically be anywhere at once, and not feel temperature. I don't know how you don't think that is not god-like and why we are even having this pointless debate when my statement on how he is in a gods body was an obvious analysis of his powers and state of mind but I guess we all want to be the internet smart guy.

  • @Hayaishin you can't be like a God. Angels and demons can do everything your saying, but they are not like god. in order to be like a god you have to be a god.

  • @blackwingking9 Yeah ok guy.

  • @Hayaishin oh and to make everything you said moot. "i am nothing like him" doctor Manhattan referring to god. Also "I am not a God."

    Hey are you a god?

No, I am not, and i am nothing like him.

oh i'm going to go around telling people your a god and make up my own standards of that word K THANKS BYE.

  • @blackwingking9 Yeah whatever friend. I am done with this argument because it is obviously going no where. You keep thinking that having god like powers doesn't make him god like and I will think the opposite.

  • @Hayaishin Your defination of godlike is idiotic. Godlike implies you can create reality, he can't adn hasn't done that. by your definition angels demons and hell every superhero is "godlike"

  • @blackwingking9 Ok friend, what ever helps you sleep at night.

  • Amazing script. That is a powerful Qoute

  • One of my favorite parts. It makes me so sad...

  • As Professor Farnsworth would say: "I dont want to live on this planet anymore"

  • HAXXXX!

  • I think if people could easily survive in space like Manhattan, then half the population would leave Earth. I know I would.

  • @TBAGNFACEFUKER and that has to make u sad. If so many feel that way, then why dont the many make a change for the better?

  • @dfviewer2007 I think that most of the people think it is too late, as Manhattan put it.

  • This is not the most meaningful quote. If it applies to everyone and not just Jon (Dr.Manhattan) it kinda defeats the purpose of the quote. Because we're human.

On a side note, the most meaningful quote to me from Dr. Manhattan would be "I am looking at the stars. They are so far away, and their light takes so long to reach us. All we ever see of stars are their old photographs."

Can anybody link me to a vid that has that quote? I've been searching everywhere. D:

  • @tOFUbankai

There is one called "el Doctor Manhattan" but it won't let me send the link for some reason.

  • @chizthefriz You bro.

    Are a legend.

Legend. I owe many thanks to you. :D

  • Did anyone upload this full scene from when he transports to Mars to when he says "Too late. Always has been, always will be...too late."? It's one of my favorite parts of the movie

  • i exactly looknig for this scene<3 thx

  • i think he says "tangle of their lies" not lives

  • @C00LX100 No he says lives. Because Dr. Manhattan would never consider a lie something worth being apart of.

  • @john12892 Well he becomes a part of the biggest lie at the end of the movie. So maybe if the lie has a good and meaningful purpose it is a justified lie

  • I agree with Dr.Manhattan and with what dfviewer2007 said!.

  • This quote just sends shivers down your spine, Dr.Manhattans story alone is enough to make a movie dedicated to only him.

  • my high school career summed up right there

  • definitely the best scene of this movie

  • me too

  • @CrAZeDsoLdDieR Yeah, is that not sad that a lot of us feel the same way?

  • blue wangs?

  • @speedytang4 please list the most meaningful quote(s) then

  • @Syst0m "We're all puppets, Laurie. I'm just a puppet who can see the strings"

  • @Syst0m "Nothing ever ends, Adrian."

  • @Syst0m LEAVE ME ALONE

  • @Syst0m The Thermodynamic miracles quote is already more important than this one. That is the conclusion he comes to at his sanctuary on mars, that everyone is special. He comes back to save the Earth instead of abandoning it. This quote is his correction of the one you have uploaded. Although I do enjoy the one you uploaded very much :)

  • @speedytang4 Yeah, well, you know, that's just like, uh, your opinion, man.

  • @killeraddiction No. It's fact. lol

  • @speedytang4 to me its the most meaningful, sometimes i get tired of people too, i hate getting in too all the drama that ppl cause, people lie and cheat, and its very annoying, if i could fly to mars and be alone like Doc does, i would.

  • @speedytang4 that is not true

  • @speedytang4 lol

  • whats the name of the movie? i cant find it

  • @qudratzazai

    The Watchmen

  • @qudratzazai Watchmen

  • your right dr manhattan! Fuck richard nixon!

  • and your not the only two

  • for an all powerful being he sure was one hell of a brooding sad sack

  • i agree!

  • @hordeisnoobloll The song is Pruit Igoe & Prophecies by Phillip Glass. It was originally used in the film "Koyannisquatsi", which he composed. Check it out if you haven't seen it, it's a really good film.

  • Honestly as much as the movie didn't fully characterize or discover the other characters, Dr. Manhattan was so well written in the comic that he stood out no matter how short the movie was for such a largely detailed comic

  • Such a deep and powerful movie.

  • I swear it's me in a movie.

  • @wreckdirect the symbol isn't Egyptian. It's the symbol for hydrogen. The dot is the proton and the circle with the dot on top shows the electron and how is circles the proton.

  • I have Dr M's symbol tattoo on my arm purely because of my profound agreement to this one qoute

  • @donotfret its Egyptian

  • @wreckdirect

    LOL!

  • Dr. Manhattan is a bit emo at times, not that there's anything wrong with that.

  • Yes...a compelling yet disturbing look into the human physche...

  • what is the name of the song played throughout this series of flashbacks??

  • "I prefer the stillness here. I am tired of Earth. These people. I am tired of being caught in the tangle of their lives."

That quote speaks to me above all others from this film.

  • me 2

and i am a bodhisattva... so I understand

  • me 2

  • Perfect existentialism.

  • Anyone Who Is An INTP Can Relate To Dr.Manhattan... Being As He Has The Ability To Do Nearly Anything Yet He Does Almost Nothing...

  • i hear each one of you guys. i never felt this way until i played fallout 3. now these thoughts surround me every fucking day.

  • Human beings. The biggest fucking mistake that evolution ever produced. Or god or whatever.

  • @theQuestion626

    agreed

  • I use this as my Windows boot up sound.

It's amazing how many people feel this way.

    I.m in that boat too.

  • deep as fuck

  • Dr. M. remembering Janey while on Mars] Janey accuses me of chasing jailbait. She bursts into angry tears, asking if it's because she's getting older. It's true. She's aging more noticeably every day - while I am standing still.

I prefer the stillness here. I am tired of Earth. These people. I am tired of being caught in the tangle of their lives.

  • i thought it was i'm tired or "her" not earth, that line makes abit more sense to me now.

  • I feel this way every fuckin day. And I'm human

  • @dfviewer2007 You're not the only one.

  • @Djeezes I agree with you and dfviewer2007

  • @Djeezes you are not the only 2

  • @Djeezes Me too. Now if only we glowed bright blue and had Omnipotent like power! :(

  • @Djeezes this a group where people meet about this its called the bar

  • @dfviewer2007 same here ...

  • @dfviewer2007 I, I.

  • @dfviewer2007 watch /watch?v=e7t5d0eseIs cheer up

  • @dfviewer2007 doc 2 is human....well sort of ....I feel the same either...I wish I could meet him in real life...

  • @dfviewer2007 you're not a living god, though

  • @dfviewer2007 you most certainly are. I am with you on that.

  • @dfviewer2007 He was the only character close to even being human, compaired to all the others.

  • @dfviewer2007 Are you sure you're human?

  • My favourite quote from Dr. Manhattan 8)

  • Funny how a small quote with perfect visual aide taken from a whole different context can sum up your own perspective.

This little bit is for lack of a better word: Perfect!

  • yes perfect

  • This is one of the best scenes in the movie! His line is perfect
