@AriDillProductions Some company hired by the venue or the Dead Administration to flim the last Winterland show. It was like their home base so it was a big deal. You talk like it's an audience recording
@AriDillProductions This show was broadcast live on PBS TV - KQED in San Francisco. I know, I was at home watching this live at the time. Great show! Ken Kesey and some Pranksters were on stage doing some bizarre stuff at one point.
Quite likely one of their best performances, especially if you consider the ensuing transitions into "The Other One", then briefly back to "Dark Star" and on into "Wharf Rat" etc...brilliant
Was at the show the night before at Pauley. Had tickets for the Michigan USC game(ie The Rose Bowl) and thought it was too much to drive from LA to SF and then back so skipped this one. Big mistake. Would have missed the game, but looking back wish I had scalped the Rose Bowl Tickets and gone. As a UCLA grad could never get myself to root for SC anyway, if UM had won maybe I would feel differently, no I wouldn't, should have gone to the show.and seen this, but who knew they'd do Dark Star?
@uforty2 Ha! A tourhead buddy of mine always yelled "ALIGATOR" before every song but, alas, it never came to fruition. Maybe the guy yelling "DARK STAR" did it before every song and, well.....you know.
As always Phil living up to his name.

I always know when its the Dark Star from Winterland because the guy in the crowd yells "Dark Star!" right before they start in. Amazing
