  • Great video! I love my BCB Kit. I use it all the time. I like the small can idea. Where can i get a can that size? What size drill did you use for the holes?

  • @biblesnbarbells I got the can at a gun show, they sell them in various sizes on ebay too. they use them for char cloth etc. I have also seen them used for fishing flies. I also have used those lip balm containers you get at convenience stores. Just empty out the stuff. Not sure on the size but I just used one of the small bits from my dremel kit. if I can find a source for the cans i'll pm ya

  • @Edzherenow99

I picked up a can that fits inside BCB perfectly. It is by a company called Badger. They make muscle rub. I will use this can for my alcohol stove. Thanks for the info. Anthony.

  • Excellent video. A very simple and effective meths stove.

  • 5/5

  • Nice!

  • Cool video. Tx for posting.

  • Hello im going to a festival soon and am taking one of these sort of burners. However i dont have a little cap to put on the top, so will the flames be too big to cook anything on? Also how long will it take to cook things like noodles and tins of beans? Thanks for anyone who can help! :

  • Great idea. Cool video. I have one of these cooksets. They cost about £30 ($40) in the UK - minus the pouch.

I'm gonna try this with a small vaseline tin.

    Thanks for posting.

  • @Tcoldsteel thanks for the comment. $40.00! that's cheaper than they are here in the states, least for the whole kit.

  • @Edzherenow99 it's on sale for £39.99 in the UK.

Ps - the small vaseline tin worked excellently but only burnt for 11 minutes and was able to boil (rolling) 350mls of water in the covered crusader cup.

Thanks again for posting the vid.Tthis is by far the smallest and simplest alcohol stove I've seen on Youtube.

  • wonder how much that setup would cost in US money

  • I believe that tin was used to hold pellets for air rifles?

  • Looks a pretty combination you have there. That prolonged boil time may be reduced if you insulate your meths burner from the stove. A thin wood disc which you can epoxy to the burner base should help in forcing the vaporisation of fuel. Also the stove itself will be sinking heat to your house stove (I'm assuming it was cold). Might not be much in the whole scheme of things, but it's useful to at least have a little pad outdoors when on damp ground. I use a silicone pad meant for hot pots.

  • @TheBeebopper never thought of that. Good idea on using an insulator!

  • @Edzherenow99 Thanks. There really is something peculiar how I find that combination so aesthetically pleasing. I feel it HAS to do better.

  • Great Job! Nice meth stove! Nice home stove! 5/5!

  • @RichTheRidgeHunter thanks :)

  • Thanks for the burn test, it seems to perform good. A couple of questions, when it's sat in that cooker, can you get in to snuff the stove out without having to move the pot stand? You said you was thinking of having two burners to swap over, is that because you can't add a taller burner in that Crusader, or is there room to put a taller cooker in?

  • @spannernuts you can use a taller burner, but the flame is a little too close to the pot. This was the first time I timed a full burn and after finding I get 15 mins I no longer think I need a second burner. I have a small aluminum cap that I drop on the burner to snuff it out.

  • @Edzherenow99 Yeah you did get a nice long burn time from that one lot of fuel, so that's going to do for sure.

  • Like that iron stove you got there. That an in the house user?

  • @SkogKniv not yet. We just got that stove a few weeks ago, one of those deals of a lifetime, Only paid $100.00 for it! She's not hooked up YET.... She still needs a little minor repairs.

  • @Edzherenow99 $100!!! WOW nice deal! Is she wood or converted gas? Hope you got a wood one ; )

  • @SkogKniv actually it's wood/coal :))))

  • @Edzherenow99 That's the way to be ; ) Once I own a home, wood cooking stove back up will be at the top of the list.
