Have been trying to identify this song for ages. A very moving song - particularly the scene in the POW camp as Tuco is being tortured. Love it. Will hjave to try and track down a copy of the soundtrack on Amazon.
In this civil war, we will fight our own brothers and raise the children of our Dead Fathers, must life end with this tragedy.............Serigio leneno
I had 3 great great uncles and a great grandfather who fought in the civil war,I can't even imagine how they would feel, brother fighting brother, father fighting son, just for what they believe in
I think its so sad in the scene with young wounded confederate lad in the church.
It really does bring a tear to your eye.
The storyline is mainly about the 3 guys trying to find the hidden gold. But then you have this scene which symbolises the loss and awfulness of the civil war and any other war.
Brilliant combination.
Have to say, the battle is probably one of my favouirte scenes
@BlackSabbathmad agree with you on this being a great scene. I think one of the best quotes is when Eastwood says that he has never seen so many good men wasted so badly.
@trilby80 The movie is about a trio of men searching for about 200,000 dollars worth in gold coins, all the while getting mixed in and out of the civil war taking place. It's one of the greatest-if not THE greatest-spaghetti western of all time. I highly reccomend watching it
I used this music as a background of a video "St Louis Jane Doe - The Case That Haunts" on YT. - If you view it, I hope it will be with reverence. She was found in rubble much like the dying soldier... KWH
2:20 and 2:51. it makes me cry when i am thinking of when i getting old (senior) in the future(if i getting old and pass away) . i will put this music.

This movie is one of the few movies that actually moves me. Most movies, I just sit around waiting for them to end.

@BlackSabbathmad i think the scene with the wounded confederate soldier might be my favorite, tied with Tuco's torture and Tuco and his brother.

Thank you again

This is one of the most dramatic pieces in the whole soundtrack and film, beside the music played during the duel (il Triello).
