  • But I want to create my own for free...

  • ROOOOLLLING STAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRT

  • Test Wine! Running this awesome program on my iMac...

  • GXSCC ≠ 8-bit

  • You'd get more of an 8-bit sound by downloading Timidity++ and a NES soundfont and playing MIDIs through that setup than using GXSCC.

    GXSCC is just...well...not good. :/

  • DAYTONAAAAAAAAAAAA!@!!!!!

  • How To Make Fake Chiptunes. Mentlegen, pay close attention.

  • i love the asking alexandria... but the video is shit

  • This is for n00bs.

if you want to make your own music find Nerdtracker or famitracker. some sort of tracker software, not this crap.

  • Skip to 1:12 if you know how to use the internet

  • Comment removed

  • That's only recently. A ton of people used to credit themselves. Then I started being the annoying little pest I am

  • Alternatively, download FamiTracker and actually compose it yourself. Your composition will then be your own effort AND it will ACTUALLY be an 8-bit chiptune.

Not like I use FamiTracker (for NES I just use SchismTracker and s3m2nsf).

  • I hate how YouTube is ridden with 8-bit videos almost ALL of which are made with GXSCC.Not only is it lazy, but people STEAL them and say they MADE it.It also gives MIDI a bad name.People dislike MIDIs because of this when in fact,MIDI is a GREAT tool for composers.Being a MIDI sequencer myself,I've gone through having to nab people stealing my work with fake 8-bit GXSCC videos.I don't expect credit for use of my MIDIs,but this creates nothing but lies.*Invader ZIM voice* When will the lies end!?

  • is it illegal to take a song, make it 8 bit with this program and post it on youtube?

  • this crapfuck is not 8-bit, it's still midi shit...

(I'm aware that midi isn't shit.. but midifiles are!)

  • @nervmichnich i see what your saying. YOu want it to stay an mp3 but sound like a midi but not saved as a .midi

  • @gruntshunts123 no.. I want it to sound like a real 8-bit track (with arpeggios and made with a tracker), not a midi file, with the sounds replaced by simple triangular/square/sine waves and drums replaced by noise

  • @nervmichnich Oh i see. Also I hate how the stupid thing only takes midi files.

  • It is possible to use this on mac or linux using wine, darwine, and crossover.

  • @firemagehao It's also possible to use FamiTracker with wine. Not only that, but you increase your chances of actually making something quite dramatically.

  • Fucking GXSCC. You do realize that you are cheating, not making your own 8 bit songs.

  • just wondering , i found a tab, i wanna make itinto guitar pro tab, how the fuck is that gonna work

  • @asdkix3 Why am i Replying to myself?

  • if you want to CREATE a song just use for example "Guitar Pro" you can write your song with that programm and just export your file to a MIDI file .. and then you drag and drop it like you can see here :)

  • Have you heard of Megaman Zero series? I want to make music that sounds similar to that. Know any programs.

  • i did this with justin bieber And still sounds like bullshit!

  • most of my midi are piano....

  • Okay, so that's how you download a program. It would be enough to give a link to -.-

  • this is not 8 bit, this is 12 bit!

  • test

  • How do you save the 8-bit version?

  • wow, this gives an authentic 8-bit feel to my midis.

i use midimaker (you can download it from brothersoft) to make my midis, and finalize them using this program! really good!

(and to all you commenters, stfu and gtfo)

btw: 8-bit doesnt necessarily mean this type of music, this music should be called more... computer generated low-bitrate music, you can play any song in an 8-bit format with a high bitrate and it will sound like any mp3.

  • This teaches you how to STEAL music not make your own.

Nice try at helping but don't teach people to steal as their own

  • Here's how to make an 8-bit song:

STAY AWAY FROM THAT GXSCC BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!

  • LOL how to make an 8 bit song? How bout getting a tracker and ACTUALLY making it instead of stealing everyones work.

  • This just tells you how to get a program that makes 8 bit music... doesn't say HOW to make it, and from what I've read/heard, Famitracker is better to use.

  • Not real 8-bit. I recommend taking down this video so people don't get confused and think this is real 8-bit. As said, use Famitracker instead. It does take effort to make or use, but it will get you the actually real 8-bit you want.

  • famitracker

  • WRONG

  • so when you put the midi in the converter and convert it to 8 bit, can you save it as an mp3 or is it only playable in the converter, etc?

  • thanks SO MUCH dude it works great and i love hearing 8 bit style remixes of current day game music :D

  • @STAYTOONED2ME Sorry to pop your bubble, kid, but this shit you're hearing is NOT 8-bit.

  • @SuperAwesomeTiago kid? excuse me? i'm 16 and i dont really care if its true 8 bit. as long as it sounds like this it's awesome

doesnt matter anyway i love the program

  • @STAYTOONED2ME I don't understand how can anyone like this crap.It sounds nothing like 8-bit and the drums make me want to kill a kitten.I will always stick to REAL 8-bit.

  • @STAYTOONED2ME I'm 17, and if you really price the music genre, you'd give a shit if the music was genuine or not.

  • K it worked thx very much, but how can i save the file plz help me

  • Daytona's theme XD XD

  • i think i will 8-bit daft punk W00T!

  • GXSCC isn't 8-bit at all.

  • @soroland1 this is the internet, man... I want my shit free!

  • why cant it recognize mp3??!

  • GXSCC is not 8 bit

  • how can you save the song?

  • make/create your own midi track using guitar pro, THEN convert it, couldn't be more simpler!!!!!

  • misleading title! you arent the one who makes the song you just convert a midi that someone else made!

  • @MariosNintendoWorld that's the point

  • Misleading title.. I too thought you were going to show how to COMPOSE an 8-bit tune using some sort of tracker software, not convert MIDIfiles. But hey... maybe I'm old skool and a little to picky these days :P

  • TO YOU NOOBS

It'd default setting is to emulate Konami' SCC chip. You may set it to emulate the Famicom sound chip if you want more accurate 8-bit emulation. If that's not good enough, set it to all square waves. Or for lulz, double click the GXSCC logo to go to GXOPLL?! and put in the midi.

  • Lol Daytona USA FTW

  • It doesn't even sound like the MSX chip that it's supposed to...

  • 127 people who really think this is 8-bit. (It's not)

  • Comment removed

  • @TheTwiggsMGW aight

  • @apop99 can you make it with mp3 files i cant :(

  • @MrCaioable nah you need midi

  • @MrCaioable theres millions of free midi to wma or mp3 converters!

  • @apop99 you can use mario paint composer

  • @TheTwiggsMGW so downlod Guitar Pro and make your fucking song!

  • @TheTwiggsMGW hey, you can infact..

if you download this software then download tuxguitar you can make all your music on tuxguitar then go to 'file, export, export midi file' then save it on your desktop. After that drag this midi file onto GXSCC your song which YOU have just made will sound 8-bit

i have a mac so what i have to do is make the music on this computer then move the file to my old computer where i can then convert it

    HAVE FUN :D

  • @TheTwiggsMGW in order to do that, you need to buy some software to MAKE music.

  • @TheTwiggsMGW What I do is i use a music writing program called Finale to actually WRITE my music, and then I save it as a Midi file. Then I convert the midi via this 8-bit converter. That way I'm not stealing. :P just google or ebay "Finale," It's what most musicians use. I am using 2007 so maybe the later versions might actually have their own 8-bit track functions. Hope this helps.

  • @TheTwiggsMGW

    Famitracker

  • @TheTwiggsMGW make your own song then drag it to this

  • @TheTwiggsMGW download a program called fruity loops, compose a MIDI song using the different instruments they offer(best to start with piano) and THEN put it into this program. not recomended for full soundtracks etc. but a ringtone or a loop would do

  • HOLY CRAP. IT'S 8-BIT GOODNESS.

  • duke nukem told u:

    "you guy sux!!"

buy commodore 64 and learn how to use cyber tracker

or download goat tracker for windows , linux or mac and learn how to use that shit

  • Heh, look at the readme for this program...

  • How to make 8-bit music:

Step 1: Delete all instances of GSXCC on your computer.

    Step 2: Use Famitracker.

  • @MattTheSpratt

    STFU

  • @sailorsillystars No you; that's how you make real 8-bit/tracker music, and this converter crap is a shame to the whole genre.

  • @Nicolai0Nerland

Some people just like to be lazy. ♥

  • @sailorsillystars Even so, it doesn't make it more real.

  • @omgomgomgd thats weird

  • @omgomgomgd Racist!

  • @omgomgomgd racism is not cool.

  • how to make it sound a bit more 8-bit: select the all square set in the GXSCC configuration.

  • @nintendude8 tryed going into config and using famicom sounds?

  • @Fett600 still is fake 8 bit

  • To all of you narbs that didn't read the readme. It emulates Konami's SCC chip unless you go to "Config" and change it to Famicom. And even then, it emulates the Famicom soundchip.

If you click Authoring, it exports the tune as a .wav, but it's often ear-rapey.

  • DaytonaUSA of Sega saturn?

  • THIS IS 8-BIT! ITS NOT NES 8-BIT BUT ITS FAMICOM 8-BIT!!!!!!

  • Thanks. This is perfect for the ones who makes old-school gaming music in Guitar Pro and want the song so have a 8-bit style.

  • I would just like to say that I watched this video, and I did all the shit he said, and it woks completely fine for me. This is because I am not technologically retarded. Thank you.

  • It's not making my original song 8bit

  • this is not the making of a song, this is the proccess of arranging 8 bit-sounds to the tracks included in a .midi file.

If you make the midi itself, it is actually making the song but this is not shown in the video. What's the point of making a 8-bit song from a midi anyway, i bet most of the songs available on midi are already 8-bit'd by guys like you on youtube.

  • Correct title of this video would be "How to steal MIDI's, convert it via GSXSCC and claim it as your own". =/

  • This only shows where and how to get the software to work... It doesn't explain ANYTHING on how to actually create something...

  • GXSCC sucks

  • Can I make a request before I make my own music?

  • Someone said this method is stealing.

  • @thecheaterdude ask the original owner that made the midi to use it or give them credi. Or you could always make your own

  • @thecheaterdude Not only is it stealing but it's also completely talentless. There are thousands of videos on youtube of people "making their own bit tracks" and caliming it as their own and all the "hard work and talent"... all they've done is pumped a midi through this program.

    It's horrible.

  • @Pirate454 it's not stealing, you're using

  • DUDE....The music is ROLLING START...You win so much internets for this.

  • more 16 bit

  • thank you for this vdo.

  • Not sounding 8-bit at all? IMO this does a good job sounding like both SCC and YM2413.

  • how do u save it?

  • @MaxExpert94 On some songs, SCC-like Full Set sounds more...authentic.

Also, for a 16-bit like song, double click the logo.

Also, Norton says that it contains a virus that affects Win 98-XP. Is this true?

  • I do this.

I make the midi myself and I also mess around with the settings on GXSCC.

e.g. I put effort into it

  • That is acceptable.

  • ok, when i download the GHX or whatever thingy, i double click on it and it wont open. why is this?

  • cuz you SUCK AT LIFE!!!! jk

  • Daytona USA ftw!

  • nice, i made one! on my channel

  • I cant save them lol it gives me an error

  • Comment removed

  • Gah. I want to use this program; I can open it with CrossOver on Mac, but when I try to drag midi files into the window it doesn't open them, so... yeah. That's kinda frustrating. Would it have killed the makers of this program to have an alternate way of importing midi files? It's such a trivial little flaw... D:

  • Actually this works pretty well--keep your stuff to four channels and you're good. I write my shit in Guitar Pro, then export a midi and drag it onto this program and it sounds pretty fucking good.

  • thanks

  • Do you have to have an instrument to do this?

  • that's not how you make chiptunes :(

stop givin us chiptune makers a bad rep!

  • The title name is false since you don't "make" the song. Only converting it.

  • @nintendude8 yoshi shuffle refrence there? rofl

    it's a football! i chiseled it!

  • CMON SON

  • Thanx man, I'd favourited it so I can just watch the video everytime I forget how, and rated 5/5 XD

  • Thank you apop99

  • Thanks! Really helped.

  • how and where do you get an midi converter?

  • like from mp3 to midi, i dont think there is such a thing

  • There is. i just can't find it.

  • @apop99 theres a midi to mp3 though lol

  • @leo967846

midi is created using a program or Direct recording a synthesizer as it creates seperate music tracks for each instraument

  • It's good, but can i make 8 bit from mp3's or other formats?

  • what is the song you where used in this video?

  • Daytona USA (Sega Saturn) The King of Speed 8-bit

  • thanks cause its awesome

  • no WONDER it sounded familiar.

i just had a huge nostalgia rush.

  • Drums sounds like nes but rest like snes...

  • ohhh thats why it didnt work i got the wrong file type ^^

  • know it all...

  • Wow, that's the cheapest thing in the world!

  • congrats on a year old vid :)

  • Yay! Thank you!

  • No, it's how he STEALS his own beats.

  • 8-bit programas can't use midis, just DPCMs

  • Yes, you need MIDIs. MIDI's tell the program what notes to play. The program can't learn music by ear.

  • You forget to include another step.

DON'T FORGET TO CREDIT THE PEOPLE'S WORKS YOU CONVERTED WHEN YOU MAKE AN 8BIT MUSIC VIDEO FROM THEIR MIDIS..

    -__- Ever heard of plagiarism?

  • But then people also use this program too, to steal other people's MIDI's works, make a youtube video and say 'I MADE THIS!!11!1' -__-

  • Well both the original creator of the MIDI and the person who put the MIDI in the program did it. The original creator made the MIDI and the other person put it in the program and they techincally remixed it, but for the most part, yes they are stealing other people's work.

  • lol this video is exactly a year old! yay!

  • thanks

  • Gracias

  • You'd better mirror the program on Megaupload, since Yahoo will close Geocities and the site for that program will no longer be available!

  • Oh no worries I have all verisons of the program on my external hard drive and I can put it on my flash drive. But I will put them on MegaUpload.

  • is it me or does this not explain how to make a song? it just shows what to download (which is very easy.) but how do you create the actual song?

  • that's pretty much it, though.

you put the midi in the program, push play and it's converted it for you.

so basically if you wanted to 'create' one with a variation or whatever, you'll have to do it yourself with an actual music making program.

  • thanks alot man!

  • Will a converter work?

    (MP3-->MIDI)

  • yeah, most likely

  • i went to vg music and dragged the song but nothing happened. what do i do?

  • and how do i download the songs? i can only listen :P

  • hehe thanks i just did overture 1928 by dream theater with that =)

btw u can make ur own midi using anvilStudio (awesome midi editor and ^^) and then convert it to 8-bit with gxscc =DD

  • How do i get a midi file?

  • its in the video......the website in on the video lol

  • but thats just VG music :P

  • What I don't get is how you "drag" a midi file into the window. I have Notation Player installed and that opens all midi files in Player format, but I don't know where to go from there
