i think it is about Robert purposely not having a kid all these years because it would not be fair to him due to the touring and not willing to give up his little project known as "the cure". and now laments that decision based on what his experience with his nieces and nephews, and wisdom that comes from growing older.
but the song is cleveraly written so that it applies to miscarriage, abortion, infertility, not being allowed to have kids but want them, etc.
uhhh...goaway013, you have a good point! I never thought about the fact that Robert Smith, has never had any children...now it makes perfect sense. Thank you and you Robert Smith =]
jason made a big mistake at the beginning in the intro with the drums, and robert looked at him like "how could you be so dumb!" and then go with simon and said "hey dude we have to take boris back! ha ha ha!! " and simon: "yeah! i know that! " ha ha ha
Actually Jason is playing with the click right into his ear... if you follow the tempo from the beginning of the song you can see that Robert lost sync with it, not Jason...
It was Maik`s hair, he looks like Robert himself, a great fan from leipzig / germany, and togheter we had the great pleasure, to meet robert before the show. I used this scene for a kind of video-art, grhhh...
Can`t wait to hear the songs......

I think it's about Mary having a miscarriage, and the baby would've been a boy. I'm probably wrong, but think about it.

Boris Williams is needed on this kind of songs... Jason drums lack power and presence...
