here in america, when u say twister, it's slang for tornado, even tho u did clarify it as a dust devil. this dust devil u recorded looks alot like a tornado. really cool video. would have been cooler if u could have turned around & followed it. thanx for sharing.

No es un tornado, es un remolino. Ciertamente, Mexico, no es zona de tornados pero en el D.F. en los ultimos meses se han generado fenomenos que casi los han propiciado. Ninguno se ha formado totalmente.

It's a dust devil, not a tornado. Dust devils look like tornadoes, but don't come from the sky and are spinning dust twisters. Tornadoes are created when cold air and warm air come together, and spin around like a spiral.

Sorry, but if conditions are right you can get them in most places. There have been 2 in Mexico in the last 10 days and look others up on YouTube, you will find more in Mexico. They just tend not to be F5's or headline makers.

what you just saw.

It is created by rising warm air that collides with cooler air currents. Similar to a tornado but does not (usually) depend on cloud formations and is considerably weaker than a tornado. Though some can be really long as in Km into the air, I don't think they get stronger than F1. So they are fun to watch and relatively safe to be around. I've even been inside some. I sugest protecting your eyes.

That's a "Dust Devil" not a tornado. Tornadoes are ONLY formed from very intense thunderstorms. Dust Devils are created from heat rising into the atmosphere.
