You cannot possibly have read the Decleration of Independance, because it's a will or document written by Thomas Jefferson, validated by Congress 4th. July, 1776, which deals specifically with the King of Great Britain and british colonies, and the rights which every state of USA beholds, to this day.

Ok the only countries that mattered in 1700's were UK, France, Spain, Portugal and Holland. The so called "Colonizing countries". You wonder why most of South America speak Spanish or Portuguese? Or Australia, US, Canada, New Zealand speak English or French in Canada's case? Or African Countries speak English or French? But to say in this day and age they are still owned by these countries is not right. They also are in majority descendants of these colonizing countries.

Just to add to the war of 1812 and the burning of the first White House (built with slave labour) it was in retaliation for the burning of the Canadian parliament something expressly against rules of War because of it's impact upon organising everything from humanitarian aid, dispersement or food, policing to diplomacy all of which were severely disrupted and lives needlessly lost as a result. Countries like canada had to enter WW2 due to the fact that britain was in it. The US chose not to enter only because we were not associated with that war. We entered only because we we attacked. The USA is a first level nation who chooses to do things on their own. We run NATO and the UN. We give the most foreign aid and have the most advanced military.
