  • @oscarmarin1995 Hey i am Christian and I have studied several religions Hindusim, Budhism, Islam, the Greeks, the Egyptians, the Babolonians even, and i have found there Gods are equivalent to our demons. Please though, don't look to me or to this fallen man for answers. Take your faith and your questions to God. May you be blessed in Christ's name. Amen.

  • Fantastic!!! Thanks for sharing.

  • I was born into catholism, but i dont read the bible, go to church, etc. I dont know if there is a right "religion"but i do believe theres a supreme being that put us here to test us.you of all people should know we cant prove it. I believe cuz i feel better thinking that when i die, it wont just be completely dark and silent until the end of time. i feel like what we are told might be overexxagerated, like the bible, but do you really believe that we are not here for a reason?

  • But not all christians tell everyone there going to hell there the ones who cares.then when christians that dont tell people that other christians like to say "your a fake and your going to hell" lol the fear level on christians now days is crazy to where they hate and kill cause they think everyones a satan worshiper.

  • ROFLLL this guy is awesome i like when he said "the truth will set you free...it sure did" for christians what if that god want it to test you to see if you could think on your own.I mean maybe hes testing your free will he gave you and you throw it away when you read the book and use the hell thing to really test your free will.Sorry christians we dont fear hell you do.

  • If a new object or a machine, which no one in the world has ever seen or heard of before, is shown to an atheist or any person and then a question is asked, " Who is the first person who will be able to provide details of the mechanism of this unknown object? After little bit of thinking, he will reply, ‘the creator of that object.’ Some may say ‘the producer’ while others may say ‘the manufacturer..

  • Ask one of the faithful of any religion what is more important, religion or God. Religion can be be completely refuted, the existence of God can't. Atheists are not people who absolutely deny the existence of God, they are people who accept science as a system that can explain reality while setting aside religion as false and God as an unproven hypothesis.

  • I like your honesty, and I can relate. I was once Catholic. I belonged to catholic organizations and tried to understand the Bible. I "strayed" from it because I finally analyzed it on my own, and found it too complicated to earn heaven. Still, I can't claim to myself that there is no God. Yet I feel liberated that I no longer go to church. Maybe there is a God, I just can't believe he is a dictator expecting to judge us at our death.

  • @martinbeco "Maybe there is a God, I just can't believe he is a dictator expecting to judge us at our death."

WHY couldn't a god be a nasty, sadistic, selfish, insecure, childish, egomaniac hateful dictator???

  • The only thing in hell you will have is: the memory that you were once a human being created in the image of God, full of dignity and worth, but then you rejected Him. Even his judgement is the respect of your autonomy, the Goodness and Holiness of God against evil.

  • You justify yourselves with crap arguments. You don't need miracles for evidence because that which is made is plain and clear as evidence for God. we recognise that we are valuable intrinsically, such value can only be imbued by one who consciously prescribes it: that is God.

  • @Valanor1 hmm..are u sure ure not a pantheist? lol

  • @Valanor1 If you really believed humans had value intrinsically, than you wouldnt believe that you were a sinner and deserved hell. doesnt make any sense. I left christianity because it was not healthy for my emotional and mental health. and im being absolutely serious. For me, it was such a relief. I saw everything as a temptation, i saw others as people needed to be saved than actual people. Such a horrible world of black and white when there is such a beautiful world outside of it with color

  • @WordsofHarmony I had a similar experience. Doctrine of hades is a paranoid view of the world. It there was a loving, good god then everyone would go to heaven or cease to exist .For great analysis of the facts about the Bible & other old Writ & try John W. Loftus, Robert M. Price, Dan Barker, Valerie Tarico, Ken Humphreys, Keith Parsons, Ken Pulliam, David Mills, Joseph Wheless, C. Dennis Mckinsey, Richard Carrier, Christopher Hitchens, Bertrand Russell, Israel Finkelstein, Richard Dawkins

  • @WordsofHarmony Jesus died so we could be free from sin and the law, and be under His grace and forgiveness, the law was provided to reveal sin. If God doesn't judge the world then evil prevails. I'm sorry that you were under a mentality of legalism, performance and striving which is not the life God wants for us. I hope you seek a relationship with God, don't worry about religion.

  • @Valanor1 Right then prove that what you said is true.

  • @Blasthood prove that it is possible to prove anything.

  • you have varying degrees of rational expectation given some evidence but you cannot prove anything. My experience is that God is real and that the God I've encountered is consistent with the Judao-Christian one of the bible.

  • @Valanor1 Very well then. I have just written you a comment. How can i prove it? The comment is here because i did write it to you. Here i proved you that it is possible to prove. It's a very different thing when you talk about religion. There have been countless religion believing that their "gods" were the right one. Science has the capability to disprove your "holy" books. This will destroy the religions, but then again the religious will surely rty to protect their religion from evidence.

  • @Blasthood actually you could just be a figure in my imagination not a real person, that is a real possibility. like I said you have degrees of rational expectation. The fact that the whole world believed in Gods is a good indication some type of deity exists. how does science disprove the bible

  • @Valanor1 Almost everyone believed the earth was the center of the universe. Almost everyone believed the earth was flat. Does that make them right? No.

  • I know what you mean about the women part lol

  • Enjoying beer, motorcycle rallies, and women is part of being a MAN. Indeed, you WERE a Christian, and now you've turned away. I don't see how knowing what you do about sinful nature from a Christian perspective, that you would use it as an excuse to say that God doesn't exist. It's like 'I want women and God doesn't want me to lust, so I don't think I'll believe in God anymore ' ... Sounds to me like you wanted to live however you want without the accountability, and chose to dilute yourself

  • As a believer in God, I think it's healthy to be skeptic and question the validity of the Bible. I don't think that God wants us to blindly accept Him at his word, we should challenge it and put it to the test. The reason I believe is that I just cannot agree that the universe and all life on earth came from nothing, by chance. That is believing that everything came from nothing. Is that a crazy idea? Yes. Are there crazy stories and unanswered questions within the Bible? Yes. Good luck to you.

  • @MrRockermocker Something can't come from nothing? Where did god come from?

  • @Khyrid he didn't come from anywhere. If he had a beginning, ie, if something else created him, then by default he wouldn't be god. We can't use logic that applies to our own laws of nature to explain something that is outside of the time and space we, as humans, occupy. Do you believe that there was a vast "nothingness" in which "nothing" exploded, resulting in galaxies, planets, earth, water, land, plants, animals, and humans with the ability to think and feel for themselves? I don't see it.

  • @MrRockermocker If god can be outside time then why not attribute that property to existence. Maybe all matter never had a beginning, maybe there never was nothingness. But with the god idea not only did he always exist but is also intelligent. That requires even more explaining. How and why was the only entity in existence smart? How does it's intelligence work? Neurons? I don't think Intelligence was first as it would of had no reason to exist and no explanation for how it does.

  • @Khyrid I get what you're saying, I do. All I can say, is that the other option(s) for how we got here require even more explaining and have even more unanswered questions. I know, "science" this and that, but you can only "study" so much. I agree that evolution is real in that things change over time, but as soon as you say or add anything that has not or cannot be scientifically observed or experimented, you've left science and gone to belief. I go with what seems most plausible in my mind.

  • @MrRockermocker

1- other options do not require more explaining, god requires more explaining because he is complex.

2- you can only study so much and go with what seems plausible in your mind. So in other words, because science can't explain everything, lets just believe what makes sense to us. Sorry but that's the the lazy way to determine reality. If you ever studied any advanced science you would know just how quickly our intuition fails us when trying to understand how reality truly works.

  • @Khyrid who's to say that I haven't studied advanced science? I don't see how that makes a difference in having an opinion on god's existence. A science textbook is a book, just like the Bible is a book. Scientists mask a lot of theories as 'truth' and make claims that are not based on empirical research, the Bible makes a lot of claims that are said to be based on the word of god. Call me ignorant, lazy, stupid- the thing is, I haven't heard or seen a shred of info to make me believe otherwise

  • @MrRockermocker I didn't call you stupid. I merely said your approach to determining reality was lazy. The difference between a science book and a religious book is that the claims in a science book have been put through the rigors of the scientific method. It doesn't matter if you read an advanced science book, that wasn't my point, I was explaining how intuition is not a reliable way to determine reality. As for not having seen evidence to the contrary, the burden of proof is with you.

  • @Khyrid can you please empirically prove to me that the scientific method is the only reliable way to determine that which is true about reality? moral propositions have truth value and are not constricted to the scientific method. love, morality, justice... are not consigned to the realm of science. these immaterial essences or values are suggestive of God, otherwise they are illusory and empty.

  • @Valanor1 Why should I have to empirically prove anything if I can just feel what is true? By your logic I can just argue that I feel in my heart that science is the best of not only way to determine reality. But then that doesn't make sense does it?

The moral examples you give are the result of human social evolution and circumstances. Just because science hasn't fully explored a phenomenon doesn't mean that subject is therefore outside of any possible scientific study.

  • @Valanor1 If they were suggestive of God, they would be illusory and empty because God is an invention of Man. They are not suggestive of God and can be explained by natural selection. Even if you believe that morality and emotion can only be explained by God, how would you know which God? Because the Bible tells you? The bible is a book, written by man, which plagiarizes the creation myths of old. You can find the same stories in numerous mythologies from times prior to your bible.

  • We all make a decision about who or what we place our faith and trust in....for some its no god, science or the One and true God who has revealed Himself to man through the Bible. In my opinion, someone who is truly a follower of Christ will NEVER renounce their faith and trust in Him.

  • But, what I do know is that His love is beyond comprehension and covers a multitude of sin and His mercy and forgiveness awaits everyone who calls on Him and His kindness leads us to repentence. He can be known by each of us, as we have been known by Him. I challenge you, seek the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob with all of your heart, with all of your mind, with all of your strength and He WILL be found by you. Blessings.

  • *tektonics*org/copycathub*html

About the part where you finally stopped believing because Jesus was a copycat figure patched together from myths etc. the resurrection was also copycatting etc. Maybe this link would help? As a person open to discussion, i would gently disagree with your stance and suggest you explore deeper.

  • YOU MY MAN ARE A MAN AFTER MY OWN HEART :)

  • Now you said that!! "The truth shall set you free"

  • below me is a crazy christaian lol

I never found god, & i have forgot bc my religion is better. thats the religion of not giving 2 shits.

  • you said most christians mess up.. but WE ALL MESS UP.. NOBODY is perfec.. But thats what God's grace is for all our sins our instantly forgiven. I BELIEVE because i have personally seen miracle after miracle. God has provided for me when it seemed like i was stuck in a rut. God id good all the time.. he loves unconditionally. there is no other god you can say that for.

  • Great video, i love how people still throw the bible at you in their comments. Im more scared of god than the boogie man, the thought of eternal hellfire when i was a kid freaked me out, i couldnt say no when they wanted me to get saved. Haha

  • Finally free,

you seem like a likable and intelligent man. I think though that by trying to read the Bible with no pressupositions that you traded one presupposition for another. WE cannot read without understanding genre and pressupositions. In your video you clearly state that you tired the read the bible like this. My questions is why since you would not read any other text like that.

  • You can run but you cant hide. You are running from the truth. you can rationalize it anyway you want. Im amazed that you are trying to decieve others because of your lack of faith. You can not serve two gods. You cannot live in sin, and in the ministry. no wonder you didnt survive

  • @wtua685

I am aware of all the dogma. If you have a kid you let them choose between cartoons and whats for dinner. There is never the choice between chores and being set on fire.

I have seen first hand the horrors of this world. I remember my feelings of love for everyone going cold as I grew up. From a cold and dispassionate apathy I observe the world, unencumbered by expectations.

You are a smart lady, soon enough you will cast aside your religious crutch.

    Good luck.

  • @wtua685

I am not contesting the way people are. The expression "born with a silver spoon in his mouth" is negative for a reason.

If god was truly good and kind there would be no hell. We would be born / created perfect and already in heaven.

God choose to make a flawed human and send many of them to hell for eternal torture.

  • @wtua685

If god is real then it was he who put you in all that shit.

Why did you need to suffer ? Gods enjoyment ? Certainly at gods will, just ask Jobes kids.

God could have made you happy and well rounded from the start. God choose to make a weak willed dullard who needs to be abused to learn.

    OR

Its all bullshit and god does not exist.

  • LOL! ;-)

  • I really would have appreciated you would have made only this video. But as I can see , you are basically enhance your career and market value . Now you are putting on a new role. That is all . Fraudulence is thy name man.

  • I was never tought to believe in Christ I choose to believe in Christ and ask Him to help me to believe in Him. So you do not believe we have a spirit now?

  • I am sorry, but if you didn't believe in Jesus then why don't you ask Him to show you Himself. Ask and it will be given to you. That is what I am doing asking God to show me Himself so I can believe the Truth more. :D

  • @Xilosphere LOL if some one said to believe in gravity requires faith they are insane .. the existence of gravity is proven everyday and every single person in the world has experienced it

  • God never punished people who didnt deserve it ... I still believe because God proven to me he exists.... and Adam was perfect compared to us he just had a free will and anything with a free will can not be truly perfect . for adam to be truly perfect he would have had to be equal to God. the book says God made us to worship him .. who would worship and equal ? you feel me?

  • 3:30

That's why you lost your faith. Sin, especially sexual sin, leads one farther and farther away from God and His spirit. If one does not repent through confessing and forsaking his sins he/she will eventually lose all faith. As for the anti-Bible rant, are we still reading the Bible from a modern-day perspective? That was thousands of years ago in a completely different culture. Of course it sounds out there and doesn't fit with our current SOCIETAL expectations of God.

  • Well spoken, I'm glad for you that you released yourself from faith. I have never been a Christian and I don't need to be, no one needs to be to be a good, moral person. Keep talking, open peoples eyes. :)

  • @Daphuhnuh Is this sarcasm? It sure reeks of it my fellow immoral friend :)

  • @Xilosphere

Uh, no, lol. What made you think that?

  • @Daphuhnuh Oh nothing, golly-gee I guess was in the middle of being so evil that I hadn't realized it wasn't :}

  • There is one line in your video that, more than any other, defines the line between an atheist and a believer who will become an atheist:

"...I had to take a serious look at my own beliefs..."

This objective self-examination is the essential turning point for those who find freedom from religion and blind faith. Without it, you'll never see the light.

  • Excellent video.

  • excellent excellent excellent well spoken! once again!

  • thumbed up. well put man.

  • Because you aren't good enough anymore. The truth? The truth is that you honestly don't know what to believe. You don't know truth and you can't handle the truth. We will all know the truth after we die. Either we will be conscious and experience a life after death or we won't. Personally I understand I don't hold all the answers. But a reality where I believe in a life after death even though it be full of snakes and virgin births is infinitely better than one without promise.

  • @belugafishgod Are you afraid of the eternal "darkness" that is death? We shouldn't be. Before we were born the void was neither pain nor pleasure. It was the infinite, cycling passage of time... As far as "promise" is concerned. I like to think this way:

If we can exist once. We can exist again. This is true since we exist in an infinite cycle... Call it reincarnation if you wish but it's a very logical "promise" you can hold onto.

  • @Xilosphere There is absolutely no more proof for your point of view than there is from the traditional Christian point of view. If you want to have faith in what you have said then that is great.....but it is just another form of faith.

  • @belugafishgod Faith... What's with religious people and this word "faith" it's not fucking faith. It's an assumption based on logic that I leave open to NOT being necessarily true. Quit trying to define others with unrelated terminology. Faith... Really? I'll bet you think I believe in gravity based on faith. lol

Also, are you telling me that in an INFINITE universe it's impossible for something to EVENTUALLY occur twice...?

  • @Xilosphere "also, are you telling me that in an INFINITE universe it's impossible for something to eventually occur twice...?" Let me answer that question. If the something is you coming up with an original intelligent comment then...Yes! But wait...that would be impossible to occur eventually just ONCE!

  • @belugafishgod Ah the great insulting bail-out... Are you proud of yourself? You should be, you've managed to make yourself sound like even more of a fucking banana when thought impossible. A mindless fruit that ergonomically fits into the hands of inane "spiritual leaders" and cannot seriously answer a non-theists' questions.

  • @Xilosphere You're the fruit.

  • you should try a video on Horus and all of t hose gods and explain the similarities

  • Thanks for telling your story! It's very similar to my own. I was a cradle Catholic but the study of science and comparative religion brought me to atheism. Clearly, humans have an innate, evolved proclivity to invent gods and religions, probably because of our drive to explain events, even though the explanation is fanatastical and imaginary. You're a good communicator, honest, sincere, credible. Continue with your work!

  • as an atheisit i love this video. how would a loving god, pick the jews as his chosen people, why are blacks denigrated so badly and believe so fervently. people who have studied history know that there are many mythical gods predating jesus and the stories were similar. i love those that say just have faith. i say the next time your landlord asks for the rent , have faith and give him a buybull

  • Most tele-evangelists are corrupt. If you don't want to be a Christian and are happy then why advertise it? Atheists are recruiting now? Different strokes for different folks I guess.

  • go to amightywind...

  • im srry you feal this way

  • a relationship with god. is like having a boyfriend/girlfriend

    -you cant do shit

    no god=no rules :D

  • @IwarnU1617 hhahahhah thats what i realized when i became an atheist.....To live free

  • @IwarnU1617 damnit im still laughing because of what you said

  • @jovelnom lol xD

  • @IwarnU1617 Wrong. That's exactly what creationist like to claim about Atheist. Just because I don't believe in a god doesn't mean I don't have morality or convictions, I'm still a human being.

  • Excellent testimony, sounds similar to Dan Barker's coming to reality as well. Any new videos on the horizon?

  • I beleive in god, im not the "perfect christian" at all, and i am a baptist, and i also do talk and hang out with atheists . The reason i beleive is because i know for fact their is a higher being among us, watching over us, when i do something wrong, eventually it will come around and bite me in the ass, maybe not that second but eventually. Or when i do something great and wreak the rewards. Just because some timeline in your life isnt the best, doesnt mean you wont get a good outcome.

  • @stangsaleens7 How do you know for a fact that there is a higher being among us?

  • @OldBattlehorse because, of karma.

  • @stangsaleens7 Why did you remove your original post?

  • @OldBattlehorse i didnt.

  • @stangsaleens7 im not trying to tell you to disbelieve in God, but try to ask your self when is something considered wrong?Dont you realize that wrong is whatever you think is wrong and right is whatever you think is right...Let me give an example, if someone comes to your house trying to kill, instead you kill him because you were self-defending. Now i ask you who is wrong the one who tried to kill you ,or you who killed him.?

  • @stangsaleens7 Plus, the bible says that no human has the right of taking another human's life.

  • I like that story, thanks'

  • Another great video! I'm still searching for the specifics though. They say this, now what do I say?

    20 videos to go...

  • You are humorous! You seem like a reasonable guy. 'Churchianity' can really be a turn off. I LOVE it that you unlearned the fairy tales. I have studied the bible, apocryphal books, dead sea scrolls, and many other texts for over 20 years. In addition to the occult (hidden information), Egyptian science, ancient cultures, languages, structures, and what I see is that many bible religions will not bother to investigate beyond their 'program' . They miss out on some amazing possibilities. Regards!

  • Good video - tackling the most common misconception about Atheists was a good start. Many people do not get this point of view as they have been taught that anyone rejecting god must be seeking to do evil when in fact rejecting god has everything to do with realizing there is likely no god at all.

  • @CaptainGreen2008 Or how about simply rejecting the version of god that they have been programmed to believe in. Not everyone fits this, but most I have engaged do. Christians often do not realize that the holidays they keep are totally pagan in origin. Take the Christmas tree for example, a totally pagan tradition! The Messiah symbolism was found in Egyptian science. There are variations of the same stories and symbols throughout different ancient religions that all relate.

  • I'm not an atheist in the strictest sense. I believe there is somekind of higher power...perhaps a higher self...the collective conscious...whatever. I I finally rejected the notion of Christianity about two or three years ago. But none of my family knows this. It's extremely hard to be a non-Christian in Alabama. I'm only living here out of necessity for the time being. So...what I'm getting at is I'm glad I've stopped deluding myself, but truth can be a bitch.

  • you need to look passed the people who use religion for power and understand that this world is about good and evil. over time all religions have been changed with time.so maybe new prophets kept coming to correct these things?that was the reason the holy Quaran had its words counted.good and evil are real anyway u look at it. good represnts God and eveil represents the devil. just food 4 thought think about it....

  • Good video brother.

  • God called me in an audible voice from Heaven when I was11 years old. In the background I heard angels singing, bells and a clear crisp sound like a tuning fork. It was if a window from Heaven opened up for that brief moment of time. God is definitely real. He spoke to me.

  • @MichaelChapala He did the same to me. When I grew up I realized it was only me. This did not happen overnight, it took time. Lots of it. Thinking through scenarios involving the rules of god made me realize that it was terribly inconsistent. Try it out.

  • This is possibly the best thing you will ever do in your life!

    1. You can now live a truly fulfilled life without any smoke screen

    2. You now have Sundays free to do good things like take care of your family

    3. You will now take each day, not for granted but as it is... Precious.

    Good luck to you :)

  • @WATSUMO GTFO

  • To me god is just basically a scam, ok, so all these priest assholes preach to give money to god, give offerings, to god! But do any of the followers of these religions stop to think where their money really goes! U can't tell me the priests give the money to god! God and the bible are myths, fairytales,to me religion is a fucking joke!

  • Do you think that there happens to be a single good reason for the logical gymnastics necessary to believe in the Bible? What if a person just needs something to hang on to when they can't believe in themselves? Or is there no justification for lying to one's self? I mean, we rationalize all the time; we tell ourselves little lies that make us feel better. What is wrong with that? I want to hear somebody's opinion.

  • 'I beleive that Christ dies for me because it is incedible; I beleive that he rose from the dead because it is impossible'

  • The Bible teaches that there is only one race... the human race. We are all of the same blood of Adam. Furthermore, you need to apply the hermeneutic of the Bible as to whether something is descriptive, or prescriptive. The slavery you mention in the Bible and it is descriptive... not prescriptive. It is one think for an author of the Bible to write about slaver. It is another thing for an author to say "Slavery is good and we ought to mercilessly treat every other race this way." not found

  • @watsumo Go shove your bible up your ass! God doesn't exist! Give me one valid solid concrete proof that your god exists otherwise i will remain an atheist.

  • @FallofDarkness55 Don't think that I would do anything so preposterous as to ask you to make Jesus Christ the Lord of your life... Jesus Christ is the Lord of your life. He has given you every breathe you breathe all the water you drink and food you eat. Jesus has been given the name above all names and one day every knee will bow down and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

  • @watsumo Seriously you sound ridiculous. In fact I used to be a catholic! I've read the bible and to me, most of it is ridiculous. Also when you don't get your prayers answered, it makes you wonder if there is no god. Also the universe's complexity is not valid proof of a god whatsoever. This is the most common bald assertion ever! Good luck going to fantasy land! lol.

  • You go on to admit that you believe Jesus to be a liar when he said, "I am the way the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father except through Me." There is where you went wrong. You neglect the reasoning that there are 500 eye-witnesses to Jesus Christ resurrection from the dead. I find it hard to see that you were reasoning. There are no innocent men, women, or children. We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.

  • You attribute gods that predate Christ. John 1:1 tells us in the Beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God. Jesus Christ was at the beginning along with God the Father and the Holy Spirit. We see it in Genesis 1 where God says let US create man in OUR image. We also find God's plan of salvation through Christ in Genesis 3. So it is preposterous to say that there are other gods that predate Christ since Christ was there even at the beginning.

  • @watsumo "It is preposterous to say that there are other gods that predate Christ since Christ was there even at the beginning."

You cannot offer the Bible as legitimate proof that Christ predates other gods, that is foul play. You're saying that, since John 1:1 affirms that Christ was in the beginning, he MUST have been in the beginning. What you're doing is nonsensical as offering Egyptian texts as "proof" that Egyptian gods were first.

  • I think that what your video entry really is about is that you enjoy to eat banana cream pudding but only if it has strawberries on top and 3.75 ounces of whip cream. You like to eat it with a spork and jump on one foot as you eat it. Wait a second? You expect me to take you literally? I wonder if God expects us to take His word literally. Sorry for sounding snarky. Now there are parts where it is to be taken figuratively "you are the salt of the world. You are the light of the world."

  • As far as salvation we can agree that even the devil, demons, and other believe in God, yet they are not saved. There is more to Biblical salvation than acknowleding that God exists. The Bible teaches that there is a clear distinctive between those who swim in sin as opposed to those who fall into sin. 1 John hashes out this understanding and it is the authority in the Bible on the issue... not mere man's. If one wants to decipher whether one is a genuine Christian read 1 John.

  • 5. Love for the world points to an unbeliever. 6. 1 John 2:19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out that it may be plain they are not of us. A Christian acknowledges Christ deity. An unbeliever denies this and strays from the faith. Based on these six evidences found in 1 John (and there are about 15) I think you can know clearly what the Bible's stance is on whether you were a genuine Christian.

  • Friend, 1 John addresses the fruit of a true Christian... not that statement by Paul. Here is the Test a Christian:1. Walks in the light. (God is light and in Him is no darkness if we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in darkness we lie) 2. If we confess 'we are sinners' Conversely an unbeliever may claim to be without sin, or a good person. 3. If we keep His commandments. Conversely an unbeliever does not keep those commandments. 4. love for neighbors.. con. denying aid to a brother

  • You point to hypocrites calling themselves Christians as to one thing that turned you of to Christianity. Shouldn't you judge Christianity by the life and teachings of Christ instead of by the acts of those who claim to know him but don't live by His teachings? If you had a friend who punched me in the gut and I turned around and said I just really don't like you... your friend punched you in the gut you would call that unreasonable. I should judge you by you... not your friend. same w/God.

  • Exactly. I thought the same things myself. I thought here is an entire book in the Bible that talks about how to keep slaves. Preachers will tell you that it was just the times back then and that was just what they did. Ya well this is supposed to be inspired by being that is the guide to morality. I know slavery is wrong under all circumstances so how are my morals better than Gods? Ofcourse there were a million other reasons too. Good on you for figuring it out.

  • Why would anyone care what you are? Why would anyone waste their time giving it any consideration? That's your business.

  • The reason I became a Christian is because God drew me to Christ. I was drawn to Christ when I began to seek Him with an open mind and an honest heart during my senior year as an engineering student. Aside from the ultimate truth of how I became a Christian, I became satisfied with my beliefs through challenging them to see if they are in line with mainstream science, and that scientific and logical premises do in fact lead to the conclusion that God and Biblical Christianity is true.

  • Morality is doing what is right regardless of what you are told. Religion is doing what you are told regardless of what is right.

  • You cannot label an entire community ignorate, in fact -and i mean no offense- you seem to be ignorant; in that you have either no knowledge of or recollection of what the bibles teaches. I am, need to say, a strong advocate for a stronger religious system. The one that we have appears to be contradictive, somewhat minipulative, and I could list. Furthermore, if you do -lets use- "mobolize" to reform this perhaps corrupted religion then I'm all ears. Do more research, keep that in mind please.

  • Hey! You named your videos incorrectly again! You feign faith by saying that you make mistakes? Why did you become an atheist? Because you lost faith. The name should be "How I Lost Faith".

  • This is all so entertaining, haha. I believe in God but don't subscribe to any religion. It's hilarious how both sides wage such war against each other. I have to admit, though, Atheists are usually funnier (mostly because there are so many closed-minded and intelectually limited religious people out there). Atheists can also be egotistic assholes. This guy's nice though. I think he could still believe in an impersonal God. Just becasue the Bible's retarded doesn't mean you've gotta ditch God

  • I am an incredably open-minded individual. I am young however, I am far from naive. I have expeinced many hardships which brought to my religion and gave me insight into my life. I beleive in god. My reason for beleive in him is that it is better to have a god in a time of need. even if he refuses to help. I do not take chances unless I have to, and I would prefer death n' heaven then death. I am also peicing the puzzle. Are you an open-mind? Have you ever thought about how frequent god showed

  • @solidbeliefs I would prefer death and heaven over death too, but sadly, there is not the slightest shred of evidence to suggest that we survive the destruction of our brains :( And as for having a God in time of need, I realised I was an athiest when i was about 7 althought I didnt know the word at the time, but I thought, isn't it funny how we only pray when we want things to go our way?

  • @YourJustHuman are you sure you'd like death and billions and billions and forever after and billions and still going, never ending billions of years(not done yet) of life?

    I'm 100% sure I wouldn't

  • @klarsdev I suppose now I think of it eternal life would be horrible by the end..oh wait..

  • At one point in time I did question my faith, I suffered many things. I saw the politics amongst the ranks, the twisting of scripture to fit various agenda, the lack of care towards people, and much more. So I questioned is there a God? and the one thing that help me keep my faith and knowing for sure that God is real and what the Bible says is true. was the baptism of the Holy Spirit. I received this gift at age 11 with no corrosion. I received it just like they did in Acts 2:38.

  • I didn't just confess Christ and walk away unchanged, I received the promise of the Father. now I say all that, not to change you, but if you have never had this experience, I encourage you to research this phenomenon because this real is a game changer

  • i was told when i was younger that all other gods are not true and are less good as christian god. then i read about greek gods and hindu gods, and in comparison, these gods where all better then christian god. some even where powerfull enugh to rule other gods. sure, it whuld be wrong me to say that christian god is the weakest and most pathetic god of all time, but compared to these polythiest gods, monotheist gods semed weak and selfish. that was the start when i became atheist.

  • you're very articulate. you have that ministry-bro vibe going on all chilled out yet not annoying because you're making sense.

do you think in the future at some point that atheism/skepticism/doubt is what will be considered a right of passage into another form of adulthood?

  • funny about the other women, will wait for that video.

  • dude man this video is awesome! hi im a christian and im thumbsing this up because this is free will!

  • thankz!

  • i dont believe in the devil or god, i believe in myself

  • many shall depart from the faith in the last days,,,,,, this is talking about you....

  • @randell55

You respond to this thoughtful, insightful & honest video with an appeal to consequences via the bible's eschatological nonsense.

    Seriously?

    That's the best you got?

Chew on this end-of-days, in-your-face fact, my friend:

Matthew 24:34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled

Ummmmm, yea. So Jesus was a false prophet, which means the bible's entire eschatology is a crock.

    Game, set, match.

    Next!!!

  • In Romans, Paul says the the law is dead, and faith in Christ means seeing "the inward man"; the Christ inside of us, the spirit (which is willing) and not the flesh (which is weak). So, everyone who judges according to deeds, or "works", has not accepted Paul's Theology. For Paul, and for Jesus, it's not about how high up you are on the ladder of virtue, but, how devoted you are to climbing. Hence, a repentant sinner is more Christ-like than a righteous man who is satisfied with his progress.

  • "The atheist forgets that what he is affirming is, precisely, a negation." ~ Marcel Proust (Agnostic)

  • Very refreshing, thanks you for posting this video.

  • @lovemrdarcy ?People in dispaire are easy targets? Seriously? ...I think people in dispare are just that 'PEOPLE IN DISPARE', people who don't have anything left, people have done everything they possibly can, and all of thier logic, reason, inteligence, and security in this world is gone... Where do you suggest they turn? What hope does the atheistic worldview offer? ...I think middle and upper class people with relatively secure lives are easy targets for atheistic deception.

  • @2010ksaul No middle and upper class people tend to have better education(not knocking the working class, just stating the truth). There is a correlation between higher education and secular worldviews. It's also telling that the least religious countries have some of the lowest crime(Switzerland, Japan, etc.) whereas the most religious nations tend to have very high levels of crime. Atheism does not provide a fake "hope blanket" of reassurances that you're going to a good place when you die.

  • Why Do I Believe? That is an awsome question! Well for me, it's not because I was raised Christian, not because I just chose to believe, not because I JUST have faith, and not because the bible told me so, ...but I believe, because at the age of 31 I was a depressed, suicidal, drug addict, athiest, in jail and on my way to prison, when some backsliden Christian poked his head into my jail cell and said the most absurd thing I had ever heard ..."Jesus Loves You" and I actually believed him.

  • @2010ksaul That's an interesting story. So, if it had been a backsliden Muslim saying ' Allah loves You', you would be a Muslim now! People in despair are the easy target. But hey, whatever keeps you floating.

  • what about u? are u gonna join this guy in the video and take ppl down don't let them about jesus at all? or, are you gonna join jesus and allow him to be as ur saviour and let others know about him too?

  • you see I could have been the next generation of a molester but then i was stop by jesus! how i know about jesus?my sister's friend let me knw but the truth is my mind was pervertion but my mother stop me and gave me this bible for church and yeah I started reading the bible and know about him and thats where it stop from my bad mind

  • @themultiplayer1 Kind of interesting logic... One has to wonder why Jesus choose to stop you but let be all the other millions of perverts right? I mean, even if we were to believe that you are the only pervert that prayed to God to change you, still, why is that God would need this to stop perversion that would hurt innocent? Just because they don't pray the rest is punished??

  • I believe because you Atheists cannot prove 100% that God does not exist. The day you can prove that, will be the day that you die. Until then, you Atheists will remain in the minority.

  • @life54321 nice one!

  • Comment removed

  • @life54321 So, by your sane logic, you also must believe in fairies? Nobody can prove 100% that they do no exist. Just that is enough then to believe in them? Or do you have a double standard here in your logic? Atheists by the way are not set to disprove supernatural entities, gods, fairies.. even because you can't prove what does not exist. You should however be able to prove what exist. And that's why the burden is on you, the one saying that a God exists. Evidence??

  • He answered my prayers because I trusted in him! My heart was very open to him and i cried every time I sing the song of his because I had alot of sin in my life but now not really anymore because i had let it go

  • at once I was a perver emo and a lazy kid but when I know god I was hardworking because I read the bible that god would love to help those people who help themsevles and I also tried not to become a perver because god don't like perver and gay people and I also tried not to hate because god says we should love our enemy and pray to them and now today I am a total pure christan but now ur telling me I should go with u because of this?! Get the hell out of here!!! God make me change alot!

  • I am an Apathetic Agnostic but have atheist and religious friends because: I don't know and I don't care. Im glad to say most atheists and agnostics don't judge people like christians/jews/muslims do and will have friends with different religious views.

  • You obviously got this idea from Zeitgeist, which was admitted to be nothing but "thought provoking" (propaganda) and not an accurate descriptions. Not to mention a few of these stories were expanded after Jesus and the expansions are assumed to be as old as the original religions they were joined to. The statement that was unique to Jesus was his claim to forgive sins with his death. There are no other examples of this, in fact the Jews thought they were waiting for a king to rule them.

  • You have this backwards. It is atheism which says we're not responsible for bad actions since there would be no such thing as bad action only natural human behavior. So, your affairs, in themselves are only 'wrong' according to christian marriage. In reality you've taken a step away from recognition of guilt (christian fear mongering, am i right?). Also you said "god with ungodly character", assuming you mean his judgment of wrong behavior for which he does hold us accountable for.

  • im glad you could be honest with yourself. if you really look for truth you have to put your ego on hold and alow the truth to lead where it will, whatever your beliefs.
