Burmese get up to 25 feet Balls get up to 6 feet....they live to be about 30 if they are well taken care of.

Hey you know if you handle your snakes instead of putting them in your file drawer, Called a rack it wouldn't of struck at you. We are currently in the process of making blood balls and have spider balls in the incubator! Cool cross breed but we would rather it be a pet not an object to show off. @PerviousSauc3r it would be so inconvenient and expensive to have all the snakes he has in vivariums, the space it would take up would be unbeleivable. Wild balls and burms are ground dwelling and live in burrows, rodent holes or in other tight spaces so the snake probably prefers to be in a tight space than a large viv. With handling most snakes calm down but if you breed them and have a collection of say 150 snakes(a medium breeding collection) youd have to employ somone just for handling.

I think this is neat, that it came out this pretty, I am curious about it, but at the same time I can't respect messing up nature. I wonder how this python would breed, if its a female? If its fertile? I know that Burmese pythons don't lay eggs, the eggs remain inside her and then the hatchlings come out of her when they hatch, where as the ball python lays eggs and coils on top of them and vibrates to create heat.was the dam a burmese or a ball?I would like to see an update

I believe with this mutation, the burm is still the main "specimen" its just passing on the colour of a ball, however, its thought that these animals would be infertile due to the cross breeding, i don't kow anything for certain but thats just my input.

I would agree with that, a bp with burm phase markings would be cool, not sure if possible, but it could work, and the other thing with this hybrid is, it has the burms temper as well.

@herpo14292Just for your information, burms typically do not have a temper towards humans, unless they feel threatened or they are protecting their eggs. I have not had a problem with any of my burms attacking me except my baby granite, but that was my fault during the first meal of his life.

It's not the same thing as 2 diff race humans breeding......humans are the same species regardless of race (think dogs) while a ball and a burmese are totally difference species from different locales and climates. I understand why this was done, just to see if it can be, but what are the benefits of the breeding? To make the burm smaller? If you dont want a big snake, get a regular ball python or a boa.

Breed a male burm to a female ball... Male burms can breed at a really small size, and wouldnt crush the female ball...
