Unfortunately, negative comments about your singing is a culturally induced orientation to music that has transferred to too much music, especially music performed in and outside the church. The medium has become the message. That is why I love gentle,sweet,soft music that comes from the heart and soul, not the mouth. So, keep on singing from your heart and soul sweetie.

As someone rightly pointed out, it does beat me how she could be so nonchalant bout singing the name of Jesus. And yes, the choir did lack a bit of energy. I advice that she should try to read meaning to what she is singing so as to lead others and herself into His presence. Anyone can sing and bring down Gods presence, you don't need a beautiful voice to do that. I tried not to watch but listen and I could still hear the nonchalance and lack of energy in her voice.
