This is what i noticed in this video i see a Japanese Cake maker wearing a mask, but in america everytime i go to a cake store and see them make cakes they never wear mask....i mean wtf...it just means that when you eat a Japanese cake you know it means that it was sanitized(Clean) when they made it, no germs or nothing.
@ConpallyM If the American public saw someone making cakes with a mask on, I guarantee you that they will think the cake maker is seriously sick or can't afford to take a sick day. In Japan it's okay because it's what they are used to and it's not a huge culture shock like it would be in America. Also, sanitized doesn't mean completely free of germs, it's reducing the amount of germs or bacteria to a safe level for you to work with.
It's so annoying. The only japanese sweet I've been able to taste until now was this weird white, pasty sort of chewing gum made out mainly of flour and maybe rice and it made me sick only after 1 or 2 minutes of chewing.
@LolGurrl91 :yes I know,I agree! I was in South Korea a month ago&I noticed that the strawberries there tasted different -much sweeter&kinda same shaped too..elongated with white down the tip,but still not bitter.
I'm wondering if it's a diff,genetic brand altogether..?
hmm.then again on the second thought..are s.berries meant to taste that sweet,naturally..??...
I agree. I'm Asian and I have enough IQ to tell the difference between Asian cuisine and French cuisine. They have a wonderful relationship together, but to confuse the two is kind of offensive.
@rie1111noe Well actually all the pastries in this vid originated in africa,Europe,France,America, and other countries those aren't japanese they aren't even a asian pastry is something like Dangos
A lot of East Asian cakes make a lot of use of fruits like the way this Japanese baker is doing. East Asian cakes are quite different than western style cakes. They make a lot of use of fruits (and even legumes like beans, and starches like taro and sweet potato), are a lot fluffier and lighter and less sweet.
@thibaulthalpern I agree! Asians are not known for having sweet tooth....East Asians are known for savory foods...less sweet is actually good for the health because the less chance for you to get fat!
@nutella871 mayeng4lifexx said "asians make really cute cake." I asked "asians or japanese?", because the video is from Japan, and Japan is not the whole Asia...
@WoodenRoller That was the old way of classifying "race." For example, the "Persian race," back in like the 17th century. However now, if you fill out government forms and standardized tests in the US, underneath the 'Race' section, the choices are usually something like Causasian, Asian/Pacific Islander, Hispanic, etc. Whereas ethnicity derives from your ethnic group and/or culture.
@WoodenRoller ... they're not races. I don't know if you understand the meaning of "Race" but what you're talking about is ethnicity or Nationality. If you're a Japanese person for example, you are from Japan. Meaning that your ethnicity is Japanese as is your nationality. But physiologically, meaning your appearance or race, is Asian. You have the typical Asian black hair, light skin, and hooded eyes. I think you're confusing Race and Nationality. Research it.
They make very nice decoration but i suspect they use bad 1st ingredient to reduce the price its probably not good tasting

What is that substance that he put on the strawberries?
fifi186 10 months ago
@fifi186 Probably a pectin glaze to make them shiny and help cement them to the top of the cake.
