I want to let you know that your video is being seen by more than just a casual viewer on YouTube. My husband, an avid ATVer and outdoorsman, teaches DNR ATV safety courses in Wisconsin and found your video while surfing the web one night. if ppl followed this and weren't being dum and not wearing any gear like they should, even just a helmet and mx boots. $150 Isn't too much to save a life, pay for the right gear and wear it. It's sad what it takes to get someones attention but when something happens they wouldn't rather do it the right way but stop it all together...sorry for your loss
first time owners do not get one that you cant handle ex= OUTLANDER BRUTE FORCE THUNDERCAT. work your way up from a smaller cc bike because this is a perfect example of how not knowing will get you maimed or killed. take a class learn about stability ,hp output and you machine it could save you in the end. It is a shame that some times in order for some to get it a little girl has to be the one to teach them in death. R.I.P
Thats why EDUCATION, SUPERVISION and a HELMET are so IMPORTANT. I own an ATV and I NEVER let my daughter ride it WITHOUT ME or a HELMET ON.. NO EXCEPTIONS!! I am so sorry for your loss. My boyfriend and I love to ride and we both have young children who think they are great. We decided to show them this video to let them know how serious safety is. My oldest son was very affected by this video and i thank you for that. But also he was very affected by the music could you please tell me who it is? Good video. Sorry for the loss. I like the message and would even extend it to adults. I see so many vids of people doing crazy stuff on ATV's.... WITHOUT HELMETS.... Sure, ride hard, but wear the protective gear....
sorry for ur lose too... i ran in to a rv trailer when i was 12 first time riding a dirt bike. i was luck to wear a helmet or i would prob be messed up right now. gotta be carefull what u do in life and again sorry for ur lose.
where were her friends parents on the night of the sleeponer? y was this kid riding on the road? y did he not teach her? i am sorry for your lose. it is tragic but ATVs r not killers there just like cars, motorcyles, and even jetskis. but training is required for them and a license. that y atvs r dangerous. again sorry for the lose.
Iv rolled an atv over 20 times and never been hurt in cluding 5th gear wide open and still nothin. So for all you lil wanna be badass watch this and see not only what can happen to you but your friends and family too. Wear a helmet save a life
sorry for your loss... but i have a question... how cna u lose control when its your first time i was 8 when my friend let me ride his 450[was his dads but he let us ride unsupervised and i did fine] dont want to sound like an jerk but just wondering..
she was driving it on a narrow PAVED road, with someone on the back.she never drove one or even knew what one was. she didnt know the power of the machine.you are very lucky you are still here to tell your story and so is the dad who let you drive it unsupervised
I am terribly sorryour loss. to any parents who let their kids ride please take the time to edecuate them about their machines. not just about safety gear but about good judgement and responsibility.
i am very sorry for your loss i have been riding atvs ever since i was 14 and i am 25 now i always use armour and a helmet and just like project blaster said its not the atvs fault again i am very sorry about your loss
hey, i think i know the boy,....i think he might have been on my stunt team,,,i broke both of my legs in an accadent,....but its whut i love.....i still atv, but once something u relise could happen you respect it ten fold
SOME OF YOU PEOPLE ARE HEARTLESS. This family lost thier daughter. Im 15 and im sorta a stunt rider and I know ATV safety but you dont know whats gunna happen when. If you let her ride un supervised for her first time alone than that was A bad idea but im not goin to judge you actually im SO SO SO VRY SRRY for you los and just want people to know that you have to show feeling for people.
thank you for caring.but the real story is sara's parents weren't the ones who let her drive it unsupervised..she was at her friends house for a sleepover that night and the boy drove his atv unsupervised into the neighborhood she was in. he let her drive it because to her it looked like fun. she didn't even know what an atv was or how powerful they are. if she did, she would have never gotten on. that boys parents should have never let him take it off his property unsupervised.
Cathy, This video is amazing, I watch it from time to time and Ive never once not cried from it. I miss her so much, I really hope that people are able to learn from what happened to Sara by watching this video. Your such a strong women I love you and sara so much!
the parents of that 13 year old should be ashaimed of them selfs for letting him ride an adult atv un supervised and should have done a better job at placeing the key some where he could not get it with out permishing . i am very sorry about you loss
sorry for ur loss. im no parent either but do ride atvs and had em since i was 6, when i got mine i had experience before that and was prepared before i got a full size so i would hate to see people discourage from it because its a wonderfull thing to do if done right and safely. again sorry for your loss and hope you are better in time
i am very sory for the lost of that young girl but parents are also at foult for atv accidents,i ride atvs and im 15 so i know about atvs and most if not everytime a death has occured from an atv accident its becouse ht eparents let there un experience son or daughter ride a very fast and heavy bike so ofcourse there gonna loose control, like i said befor i dont wanna bea dick i am very sorry for there lost but parents be more carfull
Parents!! Wake up!!!!! Every time I hear about a tragic incident like this the circumstances are almost always the same! An unsupervised kid on a quad that is too big for them, and no helmets! It's bullshit! These parents who alow this are retatded and should be put in jail for being so fucking stupid. WATCH YOUR KIDS!!!!
I'm not a parent but I'm 13 and feel for what happend to your daughter And I live in Pekin Indiana My friend almost died last year from the same thing. He flipped the Four wheeler and the handle bars went through his head and was rushed to the hospital luckly they got to him in time Sin, Kyle Taylor
Which part of "sara was at a friends house for a sleepover the night" dont you understand? not unless the perants can be at 2 places at once they can supervise thier child 24/7 so whos the stupid one now asshole?? show some respect and next time read what the text says instead of looking at the pretty pictures, idiot. P.S Very sorry for you loss. And i agree with "vorticusFJ" Sara is the most beautiful angel in the sky. RIP
Respectfully, Proper supervision and good judgement were at a miss. With 4 children of my own I know I am terrified each time we go riding together, but I can only teach them to make good decisions and hope when I am not around they have good judgement. It is all we can give our babies. I feel for you and your family. God loves and forgives. It is up to us to not forget.
Hi..I'm an italian ATV rider of 17..I'm really really upset for what appened to Sara..I have not words to describe what i fell now that I have whached the video but I'm sure that now Sara Rose is one of the most beautiful angel of the sky..bye..
just letting you know you have my sympathy. i am 14 years old and have been riding since i was 3 years old. only having 1 crash that wasent even that serios i no longer wear protective gear although this video makes you think ... you have my sympathy. ps. your daughter was beautiful.
i think it's the boys fault for letting her ride it. i dont wear gear and the worst thing that has happened to me was i was goin off 6 foot jump and hit a tree stump and flipped my atv over and broke my arm, but i still take that jump
growing up ive ridin an atv sicne the age of 8 with no equipment, i can honestly say if i ever have kids they will not be aloud to do so. im 19 now and use high performance atv's, despite the fact i have been riding adn ramping for over 8 years, i still break bones and tear muscles with gear. its a tradgedy what happened to her and an example of why kids need supervision when riding an atv
I'm sorry for your lost i know what the pain is like to lose someone you care for so deeply and i once almost lost dear friend because he didn't wear his helmet. an i almost lost my sister because some guy let his daughter drive in the front wasn't paying attention and hit my moms car and the little girl almost died. I hope sara rip and that everyone that watches this video wears their helmet for their bike and is careful in any motor vechile.
I feel your pain,I lost my brother back in 1982. He was killed on motorcycle. All people should be aware of the danger of this sport. My daughter and I both race quads, we both respect what the quads are capable of doing. I have taught her to always be aware of her suroundings. I wish I could have been there for Sara and her family.
i am only 11 and i ride a polaris 800 but i have been riding dirtbikes and quads sense the age of two and race motocross right now i am expirienced but i could still easly crash
sara was one of my very best friends, and although i have been offered many rides on atv's in the four years after the accident, i always refuse. i promised sara's grandmother that i would never get on an atv, and i intend on keeping that promise. i miss her very much.
im very sry for ur lose, im a maniac atv driver and i know wat it is to loose a family member, if it brings ur hopes up i make sure that i teach the person driving my atv properly before i let them drive on their own, ive been riding these machines since i can remember, i am very experienced but not everyone is and what happened to you is horrible, all hopes are with you and your family, Atvman101(Matt)
SARa's Family i am so so sorry for you i am a atv rider and snowmobile underage technically i am at notice because i am 10 but even experienced drivers that get air and tricks ive broken a bone and i have lost my friend to a terrible accident (he did not tie his shoes and got dragged under the motor your story made me cry
I'm sorry for you loss, may Sara Rose rest in peace. They can be very unsafe to drive with out experience. I have a 4x4 atv which is capable of up to 110km/h(I know, I've done it) which is really scary considering that they have 5psi in the tires.
wow thats really sad i feel really bad for your family. Yes i ride dirtbikes and i freestyle (like mad tricks and stuff) and i hope you don't hate are sport but i just wanted to say that its not all ways that bad of an ending for a crash, that was just an unlucky crash. Take it from me i've broken one bone more times than most people have broken total bones in there life and im only 15. Im really sorry this happend to her and my she Rest In Peace.
i always wear gear and helmet at all times!!!!! i once almost died when a oversized atv was on top of me lucky a guy heard me callign fro help. i have taken atv saftely classes i race a blaster and i know that i cannot be reckless and uncaring, accepted i'm sorryt hat your DAUGHTER lost her life i hope you do not hate atvs now. remeber if you do not know the saftely skills do not ride plz and wear a helmet thats whats cool unless you want a hole in ur head
First I must give you my deepest condolences for your lost, I am 41 years old with 3 kids ages 13, 8 and 3 and we all ride quads including my wife. I can only imagene your pain.
i once hit a tree on an atv with no helmet on. i did a front flip right off it. i was lucky and got away with a few cuts and bruises. i stick to dirtbikes now. if you ask me atvs are way harder to control.
I am very sorry for your beautiful child to be lost because of a atv...I am 15 and i ride a 250...But I think you should be able to get an atv sized for yourself not of what the law thinks because im not supposed to ride nothing over a 90cc but if i had one it would be more dangerous than my 250 or my dads 400...You dont need something that doesnt fit you or let you have fun on...
Its just like a helmet if its to small or to big there is no point in using it..It will cause more risk with it on than withou it...But once again i am very sorry for your beautiful daughter being lost.
i was 14 wen i rode an atv in dominican republic da laws and regulations are different nd mi sis is 9 and she got on it 2 but we got practice and we were taught how to ride on it,well hopefully theres not another tragic incident like this
Hi, first off, my deepest condolences for your lost, I imagine it must be very frustrating...
I am 17 years old and planing to buy my first ATV, your movie made me rethink all over again my "plan". I think I'll be more wise on choosing a ATV model and the way I'll drive it.
Thank you, and I hope your movie has the same impact on other people as it did on me.
I Am A Owner Of 3 Atvs And My 8 Year Old Daghter Rides With Me On A Youth Atv As Good As She Is She Will Never Be On A Adult Sized Atv Nor Go Without Me Untill She At Least 16 Years Old ! For The People Who Put A Large Atv In The Arms Of A Youth , Well You Should Be Arrested , Your Putting Your Child In Danger Sorry For The Loss !!
Sorry to hear about you're loss. I have been riding atv's for 11 years and have had some minor crashes and I alway's wear a helmet.People have been trying to get them banned for year's cause they think that everytime someone get's killed on one that it's alway's the atv's fault when that's not true. My condolences got out to her family and I THANK YOU for not trying to blame the atv but warn everyone about the potential danger and the responsibility it take's to operate an atv.
I would like to embed your video of Sarah and her story on my site at International Off Roader to allow our users to quietly reflect on what might happen should the correct precautions get ignored.
I will not link to this video until I see a reply to my response out of respect for Sarah.
All the very best for the future and remember your other children are still with you to help you through this tough time, don't close them out of your grief.
experience or not atv, bike,on road, off road can cause injuries or even death..they are a machines and don't have a "brain" to fuction with...they don't know any better if something go's wrong!! be carefull period. "i send my blessings to the family."
I work at the ATV safety institute if anyone who has purchased a new 4 wheeler from any of the major manufacturers they offer FREE training and even pay you an incentive to go!!! Just call 800-887-2887....
Very sorry for your loss, I know what it's to lose a relative in resulting experience, but I am not a father or children. It must be worse, I am 16 and have been riding dirtbikes/atvs since I was 3. Again, sorry for the loss.
Sorry for your loss of Sara. I am glad to see that your family isn't trashing ATV's, just showing parents and the general public what can happen without training and skill. I have been riding ATV's and motorcycles for 20 yrs, and it takes a bunch of skill not to get messed up, and even with the proper training, bad stuff happens. Thanks for sharing.
Anything over 50cc is considered age 16 and above, and under adult supervision. It would be the fault of the childs parents who owned the ATV in my opinion.
your 12 years old and ride a 450r?? Christ kid thats alotta bike for your age and weight. Also sorry to hear about your loss. I cant imagine losing a son or daughter!
im driving atv since the age of 9 but this makes me thinking a lot... im now 25 and im in a Atv stunting club and i put the link for this video on our forum... just to advice owners and parents about atv dangers.. we know it could be dangerous but this message isnt repeated too mutch because accidents happend unfortunatly
She never even knew what an atv was until right before her accident. She never grew up around them so she never had the opportunity to learn how to drive one. It just looked like fun to her, she never knew what she was getting herself into. There should have been supervision there that night
It's true it's not the atv's fault, the operator should be a TRAINED rider, the atv size should be age appropriate. The operator of the atv not let an untrained operator drive his/her atv. An untrained driver does not know the power of the atv or how to handle the machine if something goes wrong. Would you let an untrained child drive your atv? I hope not. That is why adult supervision is important because some young kids do not have the maturity to make that kind of decision
ITs true its not childs play but im 13 and drive a 450 Honda Foremens and i been driving it scence i was 11 soo yea i no how to drive one. its just the operater not the ATV fault if something goes wrong

she was driving it on a narrow PAVED road, with someone on the back.she never drove one or even knew what one was. she didnt know the power of the machine.you are very lucky you are still here to tell your story and so is the dad who let you drive it unsupervised

SOME OF YOU PEOPLE ARE HEARTLESS. This family lost thier daughter. Im 15 and im sorta a stunt rider and I know ATV safety but you dont know whats gunna happen when. If you let her ride un supervised for her first time alone than that was A bad idea but im not goin to judge you actually im SO SO SO VRY SRRY for you los and just want people to know that you have to show feeling for people.
darthjames66 4 years ago
thank you for caring.but the real story is sara's parents weren't the ones who let her drive it unsupervised..she was at her friends house for a sleepover that night and the boy drove his atv unsupervised into the neighborhood she was in. he let her drive it because to her it looked like fun. she didn't even know what an atv was or how powerful they are. if she did, she would have never gotten on. that boys parents should have never let him take it off his property unsupervised.

It is up to us to not forget.

jackcowley07 4 years ago
i think it's the boys fault for letting her ride it. i dont wear gear and the worst thing that has happened to me was i was goin off 6 foot jump and hit a tree stump and flipped my atv over and broke my arm, but i still take that jump

growing up ive ridin an atv sicne the age of 8 with no equipment, i can honestly say if i ever have kids they will not be aloud to do so. im 19 now and use high performance atv's, despite the fact i have been riding adn ramping for over 8 years, i still break bones and tear muscles with gear. its a tradgedy what happened to her and an example of why kids need supervision when riding an atv

Quads are not death machines or decision makers. The rider need to stay within his or her limits.
TheLaw32 4 years ago
thelaw32 is right they do need to be in there own limits the reason people get hurt is beacause they were not doing what they were supposed to.

All the very best for the future and remember your other children are still with you to help you through this tough time, don't close them out of your grief.

the person who let her ride the atv should be punished father and mother should be jailed? fined? for sure

She never even knew what an atv was until right before her accident. She never grew up around them so she never had the opportunity to learn how to drive one. It just looked like fun to her, she never knew what she was getting herself into. There should have been supervision there that night
flacat40 4 years ago
It's true it's not the atv's fault, the operator should be a TRAINED rider, the atv size should be age appropriate. The operator of the atv not let an untrained operator drive his/her atv. An untrained driver does not know the power of the atv or how to handle the machine if something goes wrong. Would you let an untrained child drive your atv? I hope not. That is why adult supervision is important because some young kids do not have the maturity to make that kind of decision
flacat40 5 years ago
ITs true its not childs play but im 13 and drive a 450 Honda Foremens and i been driving it scence i was 11 soo yea i no how to drive one. its just the operater not the ATV fault if something goes wrong
