  • This was such a beautiful production. It was so moving. The guy I saw who played Edward was just incredible. I think he was called Matthew Malthouse.. he did a great job.

  • Saw this years ago in Charlotte, NC... was amazing. Wish I could see it again.

  • why does he have hands insted of scissors.....?

  • probly so the girl wouldnt get hurt when they were dancing.

  • I think it's his fantesy. Like what he'd be able to do if he had hands?

  • Kim or Edward i cant remember clearly ..but i thing kim imagined life with edward if he had hands instead of scissors...(:

  • @bxexcxkxyx3 this part of the stage adaption was when Edward was dreaming what it would be like to have hands.

  • this is brilliant!! how is it i've only found this now?

  • Hi everyone! just wanted to know if this was currently a musical/stage show? I am quite possibly the biggest fan of Edward Scissorhands, from the magical music to the tragic ending... Would absolutely LOVE to be ab le to watch the whole ballet or to actually SEE the show xxx

  • Matthew Bourne has done wonderfully!!

  • why does he have hands ?

  • because Kim imagined how he would be if he had hands!

  • Because how would they hold hands if he had his scissorhands on?

  • it's a fantasy!! durrr!

  • i went to go see this, its amazing

and obviously he has scissor hands, its just in this scene he doesnt

  • i thought it is called edward scissorhands not" edward scissorhands, the guy who actually has hands but we'll just call them scissors cuz we will get viewers"

  • No, in the entire of the show he has scissors, this part is just a fantasy he has.

  • Wooooo!!!! Dancing trees! I liiike. :P

Awesome music, amazing dancing. Does life GET any better then this? :L

    (Kidding folks!)

  • will it be in poland?

  • Wow, giving Edward hands, that's beautiful! Even if it's only in his imagination.

  • ballet ballet :)

  • I saw this last night and then only thing I can say about it is STUNNING !!!

If you dont watch another show this year , go and see this.

Even if you dont like ballet ,I watched it with people who arnt ballet fans like my self and we're all moved to tears at the end xx

  • where did you watch it?

  • I saw it today In Birmingham.

    AMAZING :)

  • Me too! I saw it in Paris too! I love it so much :D

I only saw it two days ago and I've had the music in my head ever since lol

I love the tree people but it must be hard to dance in their costumes!!

  • Ohhh is it really good?

I need some advice whether to see it or not... I've never seen Live ballet im more of a musical guy. Will i like this?

And is there talking or is it all silent? lol

  • Its silent, but its brilliant! I went to see it yesterday in Manchester and I loved it. Even though Im more into the drama side of things I still thought this was amazing, Im not sure if you'll like it, not that its bad or anything its just personal taste . XD

  • I saw it last week on friday in paris. It was just amazing! I think they made a realy good job on this show.

  • hahaha I LOVE the tree people!

  • Its ballet.

  • Is it a ballet or Musical? Do they sing or anything? When do they talk?

  • Is it a musical or Ballet?

  • A Ballet.

they thought about a musicaly - but in the words of the artist director he didnt want to put words in to Edward's mouth =]

  • how can those tree people see where they are going...

  • Somehow XDDDD

i love that dance ^^ and the movie too

  • Really random, but this reminds me of Snape/Lily. Anyways, this looks amazing, I wish I could see it. Living in Portugal sucks big time :S

  • i saw this! it was AWESOME!!!!!!! almost front row seats too!

  • the reason why he has normal hands is because Edward has Kim into his world of fantasy and where he is normal, which they have shown this by giving him hands.

This was the most amazing and beautiful piece of theatre i've ever scene. and this would have to be my most favourite scene. absolutely Devine!

  • why does he suddenlly have hands?

  • Maybe in the musical they wanted to show that he dreams about that he would be with normal hands and without scissors, so it is what he's dreaming and also dancing with his love, Kim =O who knows...you cannot know until you see it

  • aughghg. how come I'm just finding out about this NOW? :(

  • Is there any way to rent or buy this on dvd?

I want to see it so much..it looks like a wonderful version of Edward Scissorhands.

  • why the british want to change every movies in musical. When i was in london i saw a billy elliot's musical, a mary poppin's musical, a lion king's musical. why are they so much fascinate by these shows? I need an explanation.

sorry for my english, i'm french ^^

    pia

  • i think it's great! I love musicals, but never get to see them

  • I have a feeling that it's so they don't have to come up with new story lines, they can just tweak the plot a little and add songs and there you go, a new musical. Plus those who like the movies will most likely see the musical too. Not that I'm complaining! I love musicals :D

  • Technically its the Americans who made them musicals, Mary Poppins and Lion King both started on Broadway (New York) before they came to the west end. Billy Elliot was british tho but Elton Jon made a pretty good musical out of lol

  • This looks amazing, can't wait to see it in june. I do wish that some of the songs were up too though.

  • This scene wasn't in the movie....or am I wrong?

  • No you're right, it wasn't. This is strictly for the stage adaptation. I saw it last week and this scene had me in awe - the costuming alone was breath-taking.

  • that is so beautiful! goddd i dreamt of going on it. but now it is closed. i'm so sad. first it happend to me when my parents didn't let me go on Tokio Hotel's concert.(yeah i'm a great fan of them. but of Johnny Depp's and Edward Scissorhands more!)and now...it happends to me again. i just can't believe that I'll never have a chance to go on it. this is so sad. i guess that i'm not that lucky with going on concerts or shows that i like. it always happends to me!shit!

  • The story is called Edward SCISSORHANDS, yet he has no scissors for hands. Explination, please!

  • This is a dream sequence ... Edward is imagining himself without his scissorhands, which is why we have this lovely pas de deux with Kim ...

  • If Im correct..I believe that Tim Burton got his inspiration for Edward from Robert Smith from The Cure. The two look very alike, physically and emotionally

  • I haven't heard that one, but I do know that the character was based heavily on Tim Burton himself growing up in suburbia and sketches he'd drawn over the years.

  • Wow...this is beautiful.

  • was this in the movie?

  • well ... the topiary were ... the dancing ... that's another story ;)

  • The music is so sad...

  • ahh i love it!!

  • I saw this in Woking, It was so amazing, i'm not sure if its out again soon, if it is i'm going again. this is an experience of a lifetime. if you get the chance GO!

  • Is it a ballet, or a play?

  • It's a play without words...

  • i want to see this play so bad! this looks so cool and very cute

  • wheres his scissors?

i want to see it is it still on?

    x

  • This a fantasy scene where "Edward" imagines himself with Kim and without the scissorhands that prevent him from being close to her the way he wants to.

The show toured the US last year. Sorry but I think you missed it...

  • haha! I love the trees! We're doing this this fall, I hope it turns out somewhat like this! :-D

  • This is one of my very favorite scenes! But I'm sad they have this part and not the end of the song when it goes back to reality and the act ends! The pose he does in the end is so poetic somehow. I really like it.

    Ah, what a show!

  • Is this out on DVD yet? I'm dying to see it! It looks fantastic.

  • <<I've not seen this, but why does he have hands in this bit instead of scissors?>>

He has scissors at the beginning of the scene, it's a pool scene and he gets some alone time with Kim, when he exits, he has scissors, and when he enters, he doesn't. At the end of the scene, it goes back to the pool and he has scissors again. It's sort of a dream sequence.

  • its cos he beez dreamin, if he could dance wiv her

  • i want to see this so bad!!!!

  • he has hands because hes imagining it TRwolf i want to see this ahh damn u ppl that have seen it r lucky!!!!

  • waaa! i saw this in london!!! it was bloody fantastic. andandand, i was getting the train home, and i was reading the programme, and this guy comes up to me and my mom, and asks 'did you go to see that?' and my mom said 'yeah, it was brilliant! did you go too?' and he points at a picture of edward and says 'i was him.'

i nearly fainted! i got his autograph. best thing ever! >.<

  • I just saw EDWARD SCISSORHANDS yesterday, and I must say, there wasn't a dry eye during this number - or for most of the show. Even without words, the music and dedication of the dancer/actors really shine. Thanks so much for posting this so that we could relive these moments

  • On video, Edward is Richard Winsor and Kim is Hannah Vassallo. I love this scene and very sweet!

  • I've not seen this, but why does he have hands in this bit instead of scissors?

  • Edward's "scissorhands" express his vulnerability as well as his inability to get close to Kim, to hold her or to express his physical attraction to her. In this dream sequence, those barriers (i.e. the deadly "scissorhands") have been removed and he is able to express his real feelings.

  • Ah it's a dream sequence, I see.

  • i want to see this so bad.

  • This is so good. I think this is my favorite scene in any ballet ever!
