the most awesome thing about ristar, is that he is not the hero, he is the hero son, that decided to answer the call for help while his father was away, and saved the galaxy while at it, for me, that is what makes ristar so cool...

That's what I miss about 90s games, they were extremely(a nice 90s trend word) colorful. There was also a nice little batch of original platform video game heroes to come out after the wake of Mario and Sonic. Ristar, Earthworm Jim, Rayman, Rocket Knight Adventures, Bubsy, among others. Too bad you don't see that sort of initiative nowadays, as far as platformers are concerned, though Shantae series is pretty good.

@ILOVETODANCELOL but think about it, if you jump on mushroom like Mario it would get squished, so it makes sense. If however you grab your father in law you just get smacked by him before you can give a headbutt. :dunno:

@ILOVETODANCELOL ok imagine you use your hands to defeat a dragon? that makes no sense right, a sword and a shield and some armour are given to the knight. Unless the character is a monkey to swing itself around with its arms ,ok, but the main is a star, maby if it could throw comets or something it made more sense. The gameplay itself could be good, but the principle is a little akward.

You have Mario defeating monsters by jumping on them. You have Ness defeating psychic aliens by using yo-yos. You have Kirby defeating hammer-wielding penguins by swallowing air and spewing stars. You have the EBA making alien spaseships explode by dancing and singing. And you think grabbing some bad guy and headbutting him as hard as you can is "a little awkward"? Uh, yeah right.

Watch through more videos in garudoh's The Music of Video Games series. You'll find a TON of games that have great soundtracks to match the game's great gameplay.

Also, this is another game that I haven't had a chance to play, but it definitely has some great tunes.
