@keith4291 They're not. It just looks like it. We put up with shit quality video now. 32 years ago everyone had a device in their home called a TV that always had a good picture.
That shit's true by the way, I went for a shower this morning, switched the shower on and FLAMES, fucking FLAMES coming out of the showerhead instead of water
Unplugging TVs and electronics doesn't do jack s**t to prevent fires. Most electrical fires are caused by defective electrical equipment hardwired into the home, heaters and ovens. If high end electronics are candidates for spontaneous electrical fires, then they wouldn't be on the market, and in peoples home.
What people don't realise is that, like lots of people in the 1920s, they had the house and everything in it on Hire Purchase, so they were ruined in the Great Depression. They then fled to Germany and were later executed in the Nuremberg trials for broadcasting pro-Nazi propaganda over the radio at the height of the Blitz
@keithc1977 No, no, no Keith, you would be very, very wrong.
It's an East European/North Korean co-production from 1987 devised to instil ill-health and unease among the capitalist Western heterosexual bed-goers.
Actually Keithy Just a glance at the title of the clip should give you a clue.
An icon of uk public info films, the actors, the music, lyrics and melody, choreography all superb. My fiancé thinks I'm weird and slightly sad that I can still sing it word for word after not seeing it for over thirty years when I was ten years old. Put a guard around the fire!
It's a window into what was percieved as being a "risk" back in those days. You also get to see where they've clearly been successful as you have a "wtf" moment at how obvious something is. (like seatbelts) But clearly not obvious at the time.
I used to hate this advert when i was younger (even scarier was the fact i was young enough to remember it) it would make me freeze like a statue, scared to death...still scares me to this day...hehe!
my uncle dave lived next door to them , they sang this song every night for 30 years at 2am ,so he hacked them to death and hung himself , shame really :(
I was just telling my friends about this! Think they thought I was mental, thanks for posting! What was the creepy one with the reaper type character warning kids to stay away from the water 'I'll be back..back ...back' used to terrify me!!!
The best tv ad ever without a shadow of a doubt. Did they show this in all TV regions? I watched it in Yorkshire but I tried telling a Manchester friend about it and she thought I was barking mad!
I just had to see this again. I always loved it. Isn't the woman the same actress who played Trillian in the TV version of The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy?
I live in australia now however remember this when I was a kid. Just showed it to my aussie boyfriend - he thinks all Poms are fucking nuts!! fabulous
Every time I switch off the TV this song goes through my head. I was 10 yr's old when this come out on UTV. Just wondered if some boffin had it on youtube............. I sing it to my kids now. They think I am weird.
how the bejesus do you get hold of this stuff? I was about 7 years old when this was on and with no video i am thinking what the fuck was i doing up at closedown time dam those disfunctional parents!

This reminds me of Neil Innes and Gwen Taylor's 'Janitor's Kids' song from Rutland Weekend Television. It's on YouTube.

I've just received a personal message from keithc1977.
It reads ...
"DONT FUCK WITH ME
I'm telling you, you arrogant little fuck, you're going to be sorry you picked a fight with me. If you want trouble YOU'VE FUCKING GOT IT. CUNT."
I just thought I'd share.
