Great coverage.My 03 silverado suffered from worn e-brake shoes due to the fact that i drove quite a distance with the e-brake on.Stupid,yea,never happened again.Great vidio,thx.

This is a very informative video, but I'm a little disturbed by the fact that your tech thinks it's okay to reinstall lug nuts using an impact wrench without a torque stick.

why would you ever use a parking brake on a truck with an auto trans? well enough to wear it out?

@SHANGRALAAAA17 I think it is a design issue, these tend to wear out on their own even without using the parking brake...

I was looking for some information on the one piece parking brake design, came across your video, i needed to know if and how should the star wheel be adjusted.

@mrexecutive1 You can use a trial and error adjustment process with the star wheel to get the pads expanded to the right setting. Tweak it a bit, re-mount the rotor, and repeat until you get the pad adjusted to a suitable level of snugness on the drum/rotor...

Thank you for posting, I appreciate it very much. I was able to do it myself from your video audio instruction on our Silverado 2001. On our Tahoe 2002, I paid Just Brake to replace it and also the Rear Axle Seals both side, because it leaked the axle fluids to parking brake pad. The part labor for this, excluded parking pad is $200 before tax, @89,822 miles on 02/02/2008. Yesterday @131,384 miles leaks again. Is this common to leak again after 41,562 miles? 89,822 was 1st time changed.

im having trouble taking off the front caliper bolt off .they ar in there tight ..they have a star head bolt..any idea to losen them...off my 2002 tahoe...

Nice video! Do you have one that shows how to remove axle to replace backing plate that was bent by an idiot trying to pry shoe off of axle housing? Larry
