I could listen to Norm Lewis sing the contents of the phone book and still it would be the most amazing thing I've ever heard. That man! That voice! Wow! Just...wow!
I got to see him sing Before the Parade Passes By today in Tudor City! Simply incredible! :D And I got to meet him afterward! He's so kind and genuine and amazing! lol
Have you heard Norm Lewis singing 'The Birthday of a King' on the Broadway Christmas album? It's Amazing!! He holds a Bb above middle C for what seems like ages!
Hey Seth, love your show on Sirius XM! I agree Norm Lewis is very good, but I think he was badly mis-cast in Les Mis. Just don't think he cuts it as Javert. Other than that, he is great.
I also thought he was good before the CD appeared, but now... he's superb! I think Brian Stokes is a incredible baritone, but Norm definately can compare and add some astonishing Cs and Es! I'm amazed!!! So glad I've seen him at least once performing live!!
His tone is absolutely gorgeous, and this sounds like a great album. And that C was ridiculous, I really need to start up voice again, I am dying to figure out how he extends his range so far, its fantastic that he keeps the beautiful quality of his voice.
Mr. Rudetsky, I'm not one to tell you what to do, but...uh...from a JCS fan, can we get a deconstruction of Ted Neeley or Carl Anderson? PLEASE, PLEASE do so. Or try. Really try.
Norm Lewis is amazing! Seth is amazing! This video is amazing! I loved this sooo much! It makes me want to buy the CD right now-in fact, I think I will....
okay, not only was this incredible (totally going to buy that cd now by the way) but all of these "deconstruct" videos help me immensely as an actress/singer/whatever. i just love the way you break things down, it's so helpful for me to see. i have children of eden auditions a week from tomorrow, so i'm going to go see if there's any "deconstructing" of spark of creation out there! :)
A trill is when you go back and forth between two notes really quickly... like if you think of playing a piano, and playing C then C# then C then C# etc. really fast.
Seth your my absolute favorite. I love your sass. you make me so happy! one day i hope youll be deconstructing a video of mine! lol love you

this C WAS stunning for someone who sounds like a baritone !!

Seth, a lot of these 'slow trills' at 5:10, 5:38, 7:35 and 8:31 are what some would call mordents... no?
And the last one (which is BRILLiant) at 8:56 is a turn!
Regardless of what we call them, the vocal control needed to pull them off (which Norm does stunningly) is through the roof! Bravo!

it's when you have two notes, next to each other, moving back and forth very fast!
