  • Nice, saw this game on Steam so I tried it out, and I got to that level too and gave up as well! I think the game had some cool mechanics for its time. The wall hugging must of been fairly new, possibly one of the first game to have it? I can't say that with certainty though. But yea that level is brutal! I walked around the level 2-3 times look for a portal or something, tried moving those walls... couldn't figure it out...

  • CWACK DOWW!

  • 2:29

Actually high definition WAS around. My Genesis says HIGH DEFINITION GRAPHICS above it's cartridge slot, and that's good enough for me.

  • :40

I hope they "destory" the enemy facilities.

  • Who ever hates this game is probbly never played this,my friend and me love this game,i love picking up a truck and throwing it at people and the city is amazing and the future buildings look cool too,and its fun to jump across buildings and run relly fast.

  • thats the 360 one

  • Crack Down was a super fun co-op game I played all the time with my friend on my Mega Drive. Don't diss the game just because you suck at it. :)

  • Dude on the bit you got stuck just keep shooting the purple line

  • uh bro, try hugging the wall.

  • had this on the amiga, better version

  • This was a game from my youth that I loved!

Really easy game too, one of the first that I could beat.

  • this game will be comming out on xbox live arcade, great

  • Nice review!

    Thanks ioport ;-)

  • this game is indeed extremely easy, but keeps walking into bullets. :P

  • This game was so much fun co op back in the day...

  • Arcade version was better imo.

  • I heard of this game

  • BTW, Einstein, you're supposed to shoot that "purple wall" you couldn't get across. It's a bridge that will fall down if you hit it with an explosive shot. Simple, no?

  • haha wtf he couldn't figure that out, but when i was 6 i could do it lol... times have changed though...

  • well now graphics are advanced and games give up tips and hints or just tell us what to do....back in the day...its a free for all

  • Yeah, and forget about faqs! we had to figure it out for ourselves! maybe magazines gave tips, and in some cases extensive walk trough, but, get real, most of them weren't that good, maybe back in the day (and still) EGM, nintendo power, mundo nintendo, and thats it.

  • yep

  • OK, the more I watch the more my head spins. Poor screen layout and design? The "wasted space" you are talking about on the right hand of the screen is reserved for PLAYER 2 IN TWO-PLAYER MODE. I'm sick of these "retro reviews" from guys with PS3s and 360s who have no appreciation for old games let alone a manual to understand how to play the game ahead of time. And why even mention the 360 Crack Down? They have nothing to do with each other besides having the same name. Man, what a crap review.

  • watch the jamesnintendonerd

  • @ioport testify brother!!

  • @ioport Kudos for that comment. I hate that too that people nowadays think that a "review" means giving your biased, jaded opinions instead of coming up with facts, history, being familiar with it or at least are able how to play it. And there is no excuse for any missing manual, one can do some research before making a "review". Was this game so complicated that a manual was really needed?

  • @ioport yeah, the game totally need an automap to take up half the screen and reduce your vision to a fucking postage stamp CLASSIC GAMING 4EVER HURR

  • Totally jaded and unfair review.

  • like they ever made crackdown 2! lol...and whos they?

  • as this the first crackdown they made

  • "they" who? completely different developers. the Crackdown for 360 is in no way shape or form related to Crack Down for sega's consoles. Sorry to burst your bubble

  • Dude shoot the purple wall ive got it i only figured it out yesterday and i am watching videos to find out if anybody has ever completed it because no-one in my family has and we've had it since it came out and it is old and difficult (But fun to play co-op).

  • you have to shoot the purple walls to walk across the gap. I remember my brother and I used to purposefully walk off the edge just to hear the hilarious scream when they fell. This game was awesome.

  • Ye that is funny

  • Slightly unfair review.

This is a game I remember from my youth!

The trouble with these kind of reviews is you are not in posession of the game manual, then you have trouble getting to grips with whats going on.

I had the Japanese version of this game, the instructions were all in Japanese so I was screwed!

But I liked the tactical element of this game,

Chaos Engine is much better though.

Good job on the review, shame it was so biased.

  • BTW, this game is extremely easy, but you keep walking into enemy bullets...

  • This game was OK for it's time, fun in co-op mode. It gets boring in single player after awhile. It's actually like an overhead version of XYBOTS in a sense, with the split screen co-op mazes.

  • Isn't that purple wall knock-downable so you can use it as a bridge?

  • lol why you die so easily i thought you were an invincible super agent

  • You should do more of these.

  • That game should have come with Crackdown too.

  • first comment woot and alsome
