  • I was watching a documentary on the history of advertising, and they showed a clip from this commercial. So I decided to see if the whole thing was on YouTube, and yep, here it is.

  • So, vampires only need to protect their eyes from sunlight?

Seriously, though, this was a pretty good, creepy commercial.

  • Haha Yess. Ray-Bans are made for vamps. =p

  • Hahaha, These look like lost boys Vampires! Awesome ad love it!!!

  • Man this is such a good concept instead of just using a vampire to get rating they like knotted the whole thing together. I LIKE IT!

  • @inkkwell very true!

  • The girl vamps are especially awesome. Nothing like some fine beauties with fangs and a mean, nasty set of claws to slash you open while you relish every moment of it. They can have me.

  • Ahh, these were the good times, back when vampires WEREN'T a bunch of sparkly emo FAGGOTS.

  • @MrJackal95 Are you talking about the Twilight series? I don't know about faggots, but if you are I totally agree with you about Twilight. A bunch of Ken dolls runnin' around like they're so dangerous. I can't stand those kids on the big screen today. A bunch of fuckin' Justin Biebers.

  • I love this commercial! it was blatantly inspired by the film the lost boys! I remember i first saw it around 1998!

  • @stingfan4 Most commercials are either boring or so stupid and uncreative, that they insult the viewer. This one is actually good.

  • The cute vamp who forget his Ray-Bans (MiG Ayesa)is currently playing the rocker on his way down the ladder, Stacee Jaxx, in the awesome and hilariously funny Rock of Ages musical on tour.

  • See. thats the real vampires. the blow up/ burst into flames when sun hits them. they dont sparkle. Gotta love the real vampires ;D

  • the best commercial ever, i never forget my ray ban sunglasses

  • somebody forgot his ray ban sunglasses hahaha xd

  • it looks more like 1991 top me

  • @intothetopcorrupt Naw, its 95/96.

people still had a lot of 80's leftovers in '91. This commercial has the amazingness of Gen-X flavor all over it.

I had some bright purple and green raver sunglasses around that time as I recall lol. Man I thought I was cool too! XD

  • anybody got a year on this? I'd guess mid ninteys (1996?)

  • @TheKnightRyder

About Mid 90s it was in my VHS series of Forever Knight when i used to tape it.

  • @PirateABE I remeber it being on TV a for a short time around 93'. This was the coolest commercial ever. I still wear Ray Ban's cause of it.

  • @TheKnightRyder

OHH! OH!! i think it was in the year of the 1990's.

    fer sure.

  • @xPURPLExKILLERx no, it's not that old...

  • Lol. Nice ad :D

  • cool!

  • its a very cooool commercial but its nonsense anyway even from unrealitisc perspective,... cause vampire can't stand the sun with or without any sunclasses,.. its their skin that burns not their eyes

  • @Archangeloftheandes Shut it nerd

  • @wompa164

No, you shut up, and study some literature of the true Vampire outline please .Archangeloftheandes is right. This new "generation" of vampires (Twilight style) has nothing to concern with the real Vampire Myth (Nosferatu, Dracula, Lady Carmilla, ecc).

p.s. About the spot, I'd say it's original and cool, however unreal at same time as like exactly archangel said.

  • @101Airborne um to go further, in folklore as well as Stoker's Novel of Dracula, they werent outright killed by the sun, but slightly weakened(but then dracula was pretty strong/old) it wasnt until Nosferatu the movie that the sun was fatal, then hollywood used it, Anne Rice took that as well, but only old/powerful vamps could put up with the sun(or atleast a young one with alot of strength and power) but it would hurt like hell, but then they could get a tan(I know farfetched, but awsome)

  • I still love this ad the best. It even better then the Old Spice I'm on a horse commercial. I never get tired of it.

  • OMG. i saw this when i was young too, maaaan, the best ad ever. HAHA

  • hahaha ray bans are a vampire's protection against sunlight =D

  • I thought this was a preview for the upcoming CW series "The Douche Bag Vampire Diaries."

  • Somebody forgets its ray ban's sunglasses?

    jajajajajaja

  • He's nobody important.

  • This is one of the best TV ads EVER. Timeless. They could start airing this again (please, oh please) and it's like brand new.

  • hahahaaha SO THIS IS WHY ROBERT PATTINSON wears Ray Ban..

I knew there was a reason!!

  • Who's Robert Patinson?

  • One of my fav ads of all time...even before I know who MiG Ayesa was (he forgot his ray-bans!)

  • They "have to" bring back the Ray-Ban vampires (x Especially in these days.. Everbody in the same vampire madness..! (And Alexander Skarsgård will be an awesome new-blond-vampire in this commercial) :D

  • man i was so young when this commercial was on air....a cah believe i remember dis.

  • hahahahah! thats amazing. really entertaining.

  • holy shit I remember this commerical when I was a kid

  • When did this first air? I must have been really little, but I remembered this from back then. I didn't like how that asshole let his buddy burst into dust.

  • One of the best commercials ever made. Ray-Ban needs to bring back the

    Ray-Ban Vampires. They're Awesome!

  • I love how the asshole vampire had an extra pair of sunglasses and didn't lend them to his buddy...haha!

  • @GroundhogBalls

maybe the glasses WERE the other guy ones ;)

  • @DavidRoyman

I believe they were, that added extra Evil twist was the joke of it all.

  • @GroundhogBalls _ You didn't get it, the other vampire stole the sunglasses, he wanted the other vampire gone!

  • @GroundhogBalls Those probably were the burnt up vampires sunglasses lmao

  • @GroundhogBalls They're like dark lords of the Sith. They are supposed to be one in the same, but they are only out for themselves and would just as soon watch you die to gain power.

  • That is so funny cos Edward Cullen Wears Ray-Bans in Twilight

    What a coinsidence!

  • LMAO...really? I didn't notice, hehe.

    I LOVED this commercial! Thanks!!

  • Coincidence? If they really are Ray-Bans, you have to remember that that's Twilight, and not at all like the Vampires of old days. Furthermore... if he does... it's most likely it's a reference to this... or something... But these vampires are nothing like Twilight... >.> Sorry to burst your bubble like this, but it's just how I feel about twilight.

  • Get the fuck off the internet.

  • Wow-that's Mig-I kinda crushed on him during Rock Star INXS-he's quite handsome and can sing.

Hillarious commercial-my boyfriend keeps telling me about this one.

  • lol good shit

  • Best commercial evah! Love MiG Ayesa's eyes!

  • this commercial wuz the shit...somebody forgit his ray ban sunglasses ha ha ha ha ha ha....

  • I loved this commercial I thought it was sooo funny, the vampires are cool

  • OMG! I loved this commercial when I was younger i thought it was sooo funny. The vampires are cool

  • OMG I've been looking for this for years... you rule.

  • wow, didn't know that was mig ayesa.. i remember seeing this during the 90s when i was still in grade school.. lol

  • our vampire, MiG, has a channel here!!

    youtubecom/mayesa

  • this was one of my favorite commercials

  • Oh man, me too.

  • one of my fav commericals of the 90's!

  • lmao! I remember this commercial!!! thanks

  • For those who may not recognize him, the forgetful vampire that explodes is none other than MiG Ayesa, finalist on 2005's Rock Star: INXS. This is still one of the best Ray-Bans commercial of all time.

  • For those who may not know, the forgetful vampire that explodes is none other than Rock Star: INXS finalist MiG Ayesa in one of his first film appearances.
