It has no business dictating politics in any way what-so-ever, because there's no telling what sort of values a specific religion may have. Look at the Catholic church, for instance, and their views on birth control and condoms. I always thought it was Saddam Hussein who said he had WMD's...or am I wrong? By the way I'm against the war so please don't think I'm supporting it. I'm a Lutheran, but I'm also totally against the idea of religion in politics. It has no business dictating politics in any way what-so-ever, because there's no telling what sort of values a specific religion may have. Look at the Catholic church, for instance, and their views on birth control and condoms. People are going to have sex, whether others like it or not, so it's better they use protection than have have unwanted kids or pass diseases.

If you want more evils by Christianity, there are the Crusades, Salem, the Inquisition, the numerous abuses of power by the Popes throughout the Middle Ages, especially the supression of scientific inquiry during them as it was heresy.

We divided them into 2 seperate states and made a disputed zone that both sides have legitimate claim to. Then every decade or so one side renews an effort to annex Kashmir and whilst western political leaders demand cease fires and accords our arms manufacturers (BA, Vickers et al) arm both sides. Had you been educated you may be capable of commenting on this.

There are hispanics that are illegal, drop out, join gangs, do drugs, rob, murder, deal drugs, ect. I'm not one of them. It's not fair when people say all hispanics are illegal gangsters that carry weapons and kill people while they're high, and that we should deport them all.

@mexikanpenguin who cares?... every part of the world has problems with muslims.. and we live in constant fear of terrorist attacks.. so we are rightly critical of their ideology and we will not bow down to them. They need to be criticised because they dont want to fix their problems.. they dont wantto bring the extremists to justice.. infact they want to nurture them and cause trouble. So Islam is only getting less criticism than it deserves and is infact getting away with a lot of evil.

Absolutely true. I hate those muslims too. my point is all muslims do not fall under that umbrella. Certainly there are many. Not all. There are those who practice Islam as a personal belief and not a public religion. There are also many christians that do everything you said, except maybe the terrorism. RELIGION needs to be taken out of the public sphere, not just islam. Personal beliefs have no place governing the people.

@stiimuli I don't recall mentioning the Ten Commandments. And anyway, the Ten Commandments don't cover everything, the rest of the Bible fulfils the meaning of it. People who are religious (my definition of religion is: thinking you can achieve Heaven by doing good things, which is false) or are atheists seem to focus a lot on the Ten Commandments hugely for some reason. The Bible is mostly about Jesus of Nazareth. I ask you to look for PROOF of evolution on the internet. None. It's made up.

Although I agree its deeply disturbing that no american could get elected if they publicly admitted they didnt believe in supernatural beings, I dont agree that all of the american media is scared to criticize their government. They love to do that very thing when the party they dont agree with is in power. Additionally a very frequent subject in most of our media is the corruption and ineptitude of our government. Please dont paint us all with the same "FOX NEWS" brush.

@toliveischrist101 as has been discussed in many other places.morals develeoped as the best way to prosper in small societies (tribes and villages) and eventually large societies. Potholer54 and many other youtube posters have great videos describing this process. You can also see it at work in the higher developed animal species.

@toliveischrist101 Evolution is the most coherent and logical process Ive seen so far to explain the diversity of species and the progression of the fossil record. Similarly, the evolution of morality also makes sense. From the earliest and simplest morality (young that was protected had a better chance to survive) to more complex forms like tribal cooperation and reciprocation. if morality was only provided by the 10 commandments then how do people who have never heard them have "morals"?
