Anyone got an Account of lotro in a European server closer to the months after it launched that he used for a while and then stoped playing? Looking to find for fun some anciend wound pots that are no longer available unless you kept them from that time in your invitory.
every game is going to have its problems like if your a wow player then you switch to lotr and you find one problem dont quit forever keep playing you might say you like it better

LOTRO may have better graphics but WOW is just much better just let this person who made the video low lvl characters to see if you really want to see real wow. check videos for WOW (raids, pvp .. and other things)

I played Wow for a couple years, but i kind of want to stop paying the cash, so i'm looking towards LOTRO. However, i noticed in this video that you manually clicked each spell. are there shortcuts for the spells in this game, or is that unique to WoW and various other smaller MMOs?
@TheEnis333 lotro is not sht and wow is not better there good games and just to let you know most of wow players are kids thats why i stopped and yes not everyone of them is a kid but people say more then half of them are kids and lotro has way better graphics but graphics don't matter and yes lotro is better and some things and wow is better and somethings like pvp and dungeons but lotro has alot more things to do but in wow when you get 80 there is tons and soon it will be level 85 can;t wait.

oh and lotro has a pretty good storyline, and if you read the book you'll find that they match up a bit, and they got some narrators on the charectors so it makes the game feal like your in it, not just readin 50thousand lines of words.
ok over to WoW...it has really absolutly no storyline and pretty fast leveling....if your lookin for a storyline to follow while doin other stuff in game and killing random things, id go wit lotro, but if you just wanna go complete hardcore and run around killing

I thought lotro was a great game, but when I wanted to go to Mines of Moria, where I've been some times, I suddenly had to tell my dps, almost all of my stats... I thought they were all polite in Lotro but it turned out not to. tried alot of servers, but the best thing of Lotro finally broke. people are making a too big a deal out of gs aksers... it can be really handy. but I think I was kinda unlucky in lotro and that Wow is just a way better game, especially now that Lotro turns f2p.

@13remco13 I play lotro these days but i played wow for 3 years. and dude it has much more story than lothr. there are 10 books about WoW and many more about the whole warcraft universe... but wow is boring and cataclysm will never come
it's very obvious that the OP sucks at WoW and has a hard-on for Lotro. Gameplay to me looks like ass for Lotro, if you ever saw good Raiding or PvP in WoW, you would know that the mid 20's trash he was fighting in the WoW video is hardly indicative of the endgame gameplay in WoW. Not to mention, the PvP is enough to get your heartrate up.
I liked this video better than your 1st one. This one actually showed the gameplay of both and didn't have the headache inducing music of your first one. It's nice that you showed how in Lotro that you can move any part of the UI anywhere on the screen that you want.
@2kmarine Lotro used to have a lifetime sub but they don't anymore. I was lucky enough become a lifer before they dropped it. WoW has never had a lifer sub which is one reason I don't play it anymore.
Lotro is going to go Free-to-play this fall with lifers and subscribers getting a automatic VIP upgrade when the change comes.

First if your like 8 u start with Runescape, then when ure around 13 years u start playing WOW. Thats the child game phase, just like when u first play Spyro the dragon on PS3 thats what a kid does, and then u get advenure games, and then u get the mature faction of games like F.E.A.R and MW2.
WOW is for the kids, and LOTRO is for the mature people. Now if u argue with this then u confirm that ure a fanboy of the game u play. No offence to younger lotro players among us.

Ok..ive been playing wow for 3 years, wanted to take a break until cataclysm, so ive been playing lotro for a month now, LOTRO is very much pve, if you want an mmo that is just FUN, and not competative gear based...go with that, but they are both very different, i found it harder to adjust to lotro than i did wow, WOW is very beginner based, both are great tho, i say if u want pvp, and awesome gear, =WOW (with the exception of rowdy 10 yr olds), if u want fun, friendly, non competative =LOTRO

As with all expansions for wow, they add about 6 months to a year of content, and then the new expansion just blends into the rest of the game.
Every quest is one of 3 types. Dungeons have very little variation.
I wish wow would make an expansion which added variables. Instance changes each time you enter, huge list of variable boss encounters. Crafted and looted items which change in appearance, quality, and stats with random name generators.

@AlisonRich I agree, but as you see allmost everyone goes for the "PvP" game, wich is good, becouse u can play it for a long while without gettin bored. And thats why WoW got millions and millions paying players, and earns in some months just as much as Lotro had in theyr whole session since the game was created, i dont say that it went as wrong as age of Conan, i just say if there is 1 game in 2011 who have a 25% chance to get as big as wow it will be the new "star wars old republic"
Ive been playing both games since their initial release. All other MMOS's have flopped horribly these are the only ones that stand out from the crowd. Ide give WoW a plus for overall feeling for the casual player (thus the big community) but LOTRO wins big time those who value a more in-depth game delivering the very best in MMO.

Both of them are great video games, graphics, story, adventures, game play, etc. I personally prefer LOTRO for the simple fact that J.R.R. Tolkiens Universe is the origin (read mother) of most of these epic high fantasy stories. It has inspired much more material to support this fantastic world and make it real. Books, movies, music, etc. Particularly good for a MMORPG format to make immersion experience much better. And this is all about right? Otherwise I'd go for the FPS of the moment
WoW is my favorite because I LOVE how lively the graphics are and the sounds are pretty good too.
Fantasy games with really realistic graphics kinda get annoying, because I don't want the game to seem normal, I want it to be surreal, and that's how the graphics in WoW make me feel personally.

My main concern with LOTRO is the "tourist" feel that I got just like with SWG. By trying to have the game take place at the same time as the books, you are constantly aware that there is something grand happening that you aren't a part of. My guess is you never get to be too active a participant in it. I started out as a dwarf, and you immediately meet Gandalf --

i enjoy exploring the game for it's beauty and for my love of tolkiens world...
half of the creatures they have added dont exist in the books anywhere.
it should be wolves and deer and spiders in mirkwood and dragons in the sky and birds and bears and rabbits and rats and wild pigs and stuff without the fantasy creatures with crappy names like deathbringerfirething.

i like lotro more cuz it has a better story,i have read the book and seen the movies so i got a better idea of what the goal of the whole (main/epic) quest is i havent got that at WoW( is there actually a main quest that tells a story or something?)
so if u like the lotr movies/books go play Lotro
if u like cartoony non story based game go play WoW

it's very obvious that the OP sucks at WoW and has a hard-on for Lotro. Gameplay to me looks like ass for Lotro, if you ever saw good Raiding or PvP in WoW, you would know that the mid 20's trash he was fighting in the WoW video is hardly indicative of the endgame gameplay in WoW. Not to mention, the PvP is enough to get your heartrate up.

I liked this video better than your 1st one. This one actually showed the gameplay of both and didn't have the headache inducing music of your first one. It's nice that you showed how in Lotro that you can move any part of the UI anywhere on the screen that you want.

@2kmarine Lotro used to have a lifetime sub but they don't anymore. I was lucky enough become a lifer before they dropped it. WoW has never had a lifer sub which is one reason I don't play it anymore.
Lotro is going to go Free-to-play this fall with lifers and subscribers getting a automatic VIP upgrade when the change comes.

It goes like this
First if your like 8 u start with Runescape, then when ure around 13 years u start playing WOW. Thats the child game phase, just like when u first play Spyro the dragon on PS3 thats what a kid does, and then u get advenure games, and then u get the mature faction of games like F.E.A.R and MW2.
WOW is for the kids, and LOTRO is for the mature people. Now if u argue with this then u confirm that ure a fanboy of the game u play. No offence to younger lotro players among us.

Ok..ive been playing wow for 3 years, wanted to take a break until cataclysm, so ive been playing lotro for a month now, LOTRO is very much pve, if you want an mmo that is just FUN, and not competative gear based...go with that, but they are both very different, i found it harder to adjust to lotro than i did wow, WOW is very beginner based, both are great tho, i say if u want pvp, and awesome gear, =WOW (with the exception of rowdy 10 yr olds), if u want fun, friendly, non competative =LOTRO

As with all expansions for wow, they add about 6 months to a year of content, and then the new expansion just blends into the rest of the game.
Every quest is one of 3 types. Dungeons have very little variation.
I wish wow would make an expansion which added variables. Instance changes each time you enter, huge list of variable boss encounters. Crafted and looted items which change in appearance, quality, and stats with random name generators.
Everyone looks like everyone else.

@AlisonRich I agree, but as you see allmost everyone goes for the "PvP" game, wich is good, becouse u can play it for a long while without gettin bored. And thats why WoW got millions and millions paying players, and earns in some months just as much as Lotro had in theyr whole session since the game was created, i dont say that it went as wrong as age of Conan, i just say if there is 1 game in 2011 who have a 25% chance to get as big as wow it will be the new "star wars old republic"

Ive been playing both games since their initial release. All other MMOS's have flopped horribly these are the only ones that stand out from the crowd. Ide give WoW a plus for overall feeling for the casual player (thus the big community) but LOTRO wins big time those who value a more in-depth game delivering the very best in MMO.

2.game play-lotrogame play is great gives your a challenge at the right level
3. leveling-lotro_fast leveling even if you dont know what your doing

Both of them are great video games, graphics, story, adventures, game play, etc. I personally prefer LOTRO for the simple fact that J.R.R. Tolkiens Universe is the origin (read mother) of most of these epic high fantasy stories. It has inspired much more material to support this fantastic world and make it real. Books, movies, music, etc. Particularly good for a MMORPG format to make immersion experience much better. And this is all about right? Otherwise I'd go for the FPS of the moment

WoW is my favorite because I LOVE how lively the graphics are and the sounds are pretty good too.
Fantasy games with really realistic graphics kinda get annoying, because I don't want the game to seem normal, I want it to be surreal, and that's how the graphics in WoW make me feel personally.

My main concern with LOTRO is the "tourist" feel that I got just like with SWG. By trying to have the game take place at the same time as the books, you are constantly aware that there is something grand happening that you aren't a part of. My guess is you never get to be too active a participant in it. I started out as a dwarf, and you immediately meet Gandalf --

Ocarina has good graphics in it's own way.
WoW has boring graphics, and Lotro stunning surroundings. Not so much as in how many polygons a character is set up, but the creativity behind it.
In a way, the graphics are part of the gameplay. And since the game is nothing more than what you hear and see, I want that to be good.
Sometimes I get turned off by a game due to annoying sounds...

the only bone to ppick i have with lotro is the unnecessary creatures thrown in purely for people to fight and level on...
i enjoy exploring the game for it's beauty and for my love of tolkiens world...
half of the creatures they have added dont exist in the books anywhere.
it should be wolves and deer and spiders in mirkwood and dragons in the sky and birds and bears and rabbits and rats and wild pigs and stuff without the fantasy creatures with crappy names like deathbringerfirething.

Yeah, with every free update, the game becomes a little better, and with MoM I think it became way better then WoW.
However lag, server, and PvMP could use some work.
