but this is the irony that people don't get..the tories are friends of the working class..Thatcher's superb policy of council house ownership is evidence of this..Thatcher was a friend to those in the working classes who were willing to get off their arses and get on in life..that's fair..and the other irony is that it has been announced by WHO that the gap between rich and poor in the UK has GROWN under Labour since 1997!! and also what about the 10p tax fiasco by Labour which ruined millions

I agree with you on Thatcher's policies with the working class, she basically said that if you have the will and self determination you can do it. But if you want to do nothing - you can sink.

yes I remember 1997..quite clearly..surely you remember that the economy had been growing since 1992..i mean it's common knowledge and in the public domain at the moment as we have just had the first quarter in 16 years where there was no growth..so the economy was growing since 1992..i also know that we are paying more in tax than 1997..i also know that violent crime has risen since 1997..and since we're playing the memory game..do you remember the winter of discontent? the sick man of Europe?

yes, i know that, i'm not stupid, but 1992 was under a Tory gov wasn't it? a huge economic crisis under a supposedly safe pair of Tory hands? and now they feel they have the right to attack Labour when its happened to them, see any pattern? its petty politics. That's something called a market bubble, that began with Gordon Brown giving away power to the Bank of England in 1997. The currency, it has been noted by top analysts', was highly overvalued.

Also, the FTSE 100 is no sign of a good economy - it's just high levels of trading fueling a boom. What Labour created was a house of cards, hollow on the inside and ready to tumble. High corporate tax, high income tax - massive borrowing debt, and a housing bubble.. who you gonna call? THE TORIES!

nice try, but the economic bubble has been growing since black wednesday in 1992 i'll think you'll find, when the last one burst. the FTSE 100 is very much a sign of good economics, whether it rises or falls can impact on the confidence of foriegn nations in British produce and companies as well as an ordinary trading basis, it can result in the loss of billions in a matter of minutes and is a daily indicator of the British economy's progress
