  • Love to see the diagram. I'm googling for A.M. transmitter ideas. Thanks. Nice video.

  • @mcoates50 Hello. Google antiqueradio forum. And join the forums. Go to the homebrew section and make a thread requesting info on it or do a search using the forum search function. You may be able to use the search function without joining.

Theres a few very good designed transmitters made by a few of our best members.

  • Its impossible to get good audio quality out of a tank circuit tune transmitter, unless the oscillator is separated from the modulator tube by a buffer amp, because you end up with the oscilator drifting with the voltage changes, causing undesired FM. Go for crystal lock or PLL on your next design.

  • @Cringle84 Well it runs off a crystal oscillator as it is and the audio quality is not too bad. Its no hi fi system but im not really looking for much. Once i get an FM stereo transmitter going il be looking for more quality though.

Il be putting up a new video of this thing being rebuilt soon as it was first built when i was around 14 or so and i did some pretty shabby work.

  • @FelixTheHouseFreak I have built an AM transmitter that had sound quality pretty close to CD quality but only on wide IF tuners, on normal narrow tuners it still sounded good. Mind you the transmitter I built was a solid state, and it used a transformerless direct coupled class A modulation under class C final Emmitter, so would have had very linear modulation characteristics. I have the schematic if you want it, very simple and is power supply hum immune so can run off a conventional walwart.

  • @Cringle84 Sure, having a schematic of that would be great to have!

  • can you send me the circuit diagram of this??.,

    together with pats list.,

    thanks a lot

  • Gorgeous! I Believed to be the only one that had mount a tube AM transmitter into a died PC power supply, but noe I discovered that I am not the only! Mine is crystal controlled and use a ECF801 as oscillator and modulated RF amp, and a ECC81/12AT7 as modulator tube. It is working 24/7 at my home from late 2004 to home rebroadcast RAI radio 2 that shutted down AM in 2004. I use a loop wire around the home as antenna.

  • hey thats a great job! How far can you wit that transmitting? Use maybe a michrophone :) thats funn :) So cheers from Hungary! 5*

  • Hi and thank you!

The way its set covers my property nicely. By increasing antenna size and plate voltage to its tube it can cover a street or two. Thats against the FCC rules so i dont do it, although i think they have better things to worry about. heh And yes ive used a mic and it was fun!

Currently it is dismantled. And as i said in the video im now rebuilding it. Will be posting a video soon of the rebuild and improvements. Just need a couple more parts for it to be better than ever!

  • Cool just stay on tuned ! *'~

  • @FelixTheHouseFreak

I remember when i was 4 year old my uncle had a receiver the same model you're using, it is a real vintage set, it uses a sealed cooper motor and gearbox for the clock , now I'm 41 and my uncle dies 35 years ago , and by the way I work on electronics and designed and built several TV, FM, and AM transmietr stereo & RDS encoders, stl links and 467 proyects more anything you can contact me

  • can you send me shematic of this transmitter???

  • Hmm didnt i reply to this already? Anyway. il try and find it again for you. Im not sure if i still have it.

  • jhon spena of argentina contry bery god my frenn
