Here most of the facts & figures are outdated. In reality Bangladeshi women get superior rights compared to western world, after all women leaders are leading the country for more than 20 years. Say for example police there can't handcuff women and children suspects. It's also the birthplace of Islamic Feminism. Even few months ago a woman cut of a man's willy but didn't get any punishment, court convicted the guy for an attempt rape & put him behind bars. These are only possible in Bangladesh!

This video is an exaggerated and backwards perception of Bangladesh, The country as a whole is poverty struck. It's not that the women are oppressed, Maybe in poor and village families it might occur but if you go to the city it is much more modernized. In fact my friends guy cousin just got married and he actually spent the majority of the money towards the wedding, and his aunt just got married and their family just paid for the hall. So please get your facts strait before posting these things

it's true that in Bangladesh a girl's family often has to pay a dowry to the groom ...this is a Hindu practice ... it is happening in India all the time ...

though Bangladesh is a Muslim country many Muslims unfortunately follow this Hindu tradition...

in Islam it's the groom who is required to give " den mohar " as a gift to the bride

To my research it is true that acid attack on women is a very sad issue in Bangladesh but Islam is not reliable for this bad action. In Britain every minute a women is attacked in domestic violence because their husband or boyfriend has comeback home drunk and rape is common the streets at night. In The United State of America the entire Catholic Church has been taken into court for child molester. This does not mean the Christian religion is bad because it is majority religion in Britain & USA.

I want to make some corrections to this video because in Islam men pay the dowry to the wife and not the wife. And regarding the Muslim religion only permits men the rights for education and men being the dominant race is completely wrong. Because the Prophet Muhammad's wife Aisha was a great scholar and teacher of Islam of her time to both men and women. In Indian history the only first female leader was Nurjahan who was appointed during the Islamic Empire. Islam is not reliable for this video.

The video is true but way too negative presentation. All the NGOs are doing this for their own benefit. Showing these picture they get some money and drive BMW in the street of Bangladesh. Yes, we have problem and we need to solve it. But why should exaggerate the stuff. All the % stuff are just over-estimated by the NGOs. When you are coloring your video with such figure remember the whole world is getting a bad impression about Bangladesh. Wake up.

Dear Michelle, it is true that it offended me. Because against all these we have excellent achievements. You may know that Bangladesh is the only country in the world which is ruled by women for a longest period of time under democracy. Bangladesh is also the birthplace of micro-finance which broadly focused to women. But when I saw this video, I did realize that you got all these information from some ill NGOs.
