I'll never understand why people rave about how great bands like Mott, the Velvet Underground and The Ramones were but it appears very few people bought their records or supported them much when they were active.
It's pretty clear Joe is doing this as a total humble fan and speaking from the heart. He has always given Mott the "Fucking" Hoople praise for what they created. He's like a little kid up there in awe.
Mott The Hoople got it together in the first of two warm up gigs last night in Monmouth, South Wales, UK. It was great to be there and Joe Elliot looked pleased. The crowd in the small theatre loved it too. Many a phone and camera in the air! Look out on YouTube. ;)
@ILOVEGNR15 Mountain View 1988 Rock of Ages video says "Let's Burn this fucking place down! Down to the ground." at the end. or in the beginning I've heard him say over the years in a few recordings and recently at Download 2009 "It's better to burn out, fuck yeah! Then fade away!" :p I guess it depends how excited he is lol
Joe speaks so different to the way he's always sung....Real "up north" accent..lak ovas bread t.v. commercials.."Hovas bread" for those who have no idea or are not Brittish lol.
Hey Tracey! I was also wondering, cos my fiance is from Sheffield as you know, so i know exactly how Sheffield accent sounds like, but Joe is not using it as much as he used to. How does he sound to you now? To what accent you would compare it to, the most? You know the way Joe speaks now. You know British accents more than i do. Do you think it has a bit of AM accent in it too? Cos his wife is American. Just wondering. Big hug!
yeah..Well i was born in England. My parents took us back to Ireland where their from,(I have a strong Irish accent tho, here 25 years). Yeah he does tend to get more English if hes around English people, its definately softened alot. My husband has influenced my accent ALOT. I sound really "northern Irish" because he has a strong accent. Sum of things Joe says sounds American, Their feirce proud of their roots tho. . I think Joe thinks hes a Dubliner now tho ha ha !! x
Oh that's really nice of you, to let me know. In some of Joe's interviews especially when he was younger, he used a Yorkshire accent a lot, like...summat, or nowt, or owt, but now he just sounds differently. To me it doesn't matter how he sounds, i look at him, and i am in my personal little heaven...lol. I'm sure you do understand. (smile) Big hug.
Isn't Dani awesome!? lol She is teaching me the Sheffield slang so if I go over...which I really want to do...I will know what everyone is saying! lol I love Irish accents! I am Irish decent and would love to go over. I noticed all the guys have lost alot of their accent that they had. Sav's is still the strongest I think.
