I have wanted a horse from the day i could talk heheh my first word was pony so 13 years later i got my first horse a unbroken paint quarter horse mare with a heart on her tummy she is awesome (:

Save up and buy one yourself thats what I did....not cheap(well not for the one I wanted anyway!) or easy at £4000 plus tack £1000 but completely worth it! I also work to keep him:)

Try going for leasing a horse first. I've been riding for twelve years and didn't get a horse until I had been riding for ten. My dad wanted to know I wouldn't get tired of the sport, which is understandable. It's a LOT of money. Just give it some time. Your parents are going to need to know you're ready for the responsibility and that they can afford it. A video won't always pursuade them right away.

Hm everyone saying " ur dream will come true" FAIL!!!!!!!! I have been begging for a horse or even lessons since i could talk..... Still havent gotten a horse or lessons. and im 13.... I'm horse crazy.Ever since i was about 3 I've loved them.I had to get every little horse toy & always asked for 1.I took lessons when i was 7 then stopped (i forget why) I persuaded them to put me in them again(after years of them saying "Next year i promise").I started lessons again in May and I'm continuing (hopefully) until next year (excluding Winter)I think i'll start asking for something smaller like a half lease or full lease and show them I'm meant to have one!Follow your dreams!

Having a horse may sound glamorus, I longed for a own horse for many years, finally i got one, it´s fun but it´s really hard work, and it´s really expensive. You can´t take hollidays to other countrys or anything like that. If I would choose now, I belive I would choose the ridingschool and be able to travell and do things I never did. I´m not familiar with English and american size "things" But I would make sure they were able to run and have enough grass and trees. The most important is that they can run freely and be able to "escape" from each other. Do you have a horse?
okay thanks. yes i have 150 horses and 50 ponies and i am only 11 but i want 2 have 2 of my horses closer 2 home instead of driving an hour and a half 2 see them. but at the same time i am tring 2 save money 2 board one of them at a stable.
i have to drive 2 hours 2 c my one horse that i bought with my own money n i really doubt u have that many if u dnt have enough money to bored them at a barn
if you get one make sure it is just right for you. i have the perfect pony now. and i rode a year or two before i got my first horse. now im 12 and have had horses for 5 years. its a pleasure to have your own horse to be able to ride whenever you please. maybe if you write a perswasive essay on why you want a horse/pony and how you will take care of it and where you are going to keep it. that may work!!! good luck!!!
When I got my pony, it was really fun. Even though I was only in fourth grade, I did not fall off because I had been riding for years. I hope you get a horse because I can tell you deserve one! GOOD Luck!!!!

buying a horse is a great investment however it comes with many things your parents will need to consider. it's a great responsibility and by the looks of things your ready for it. give it time. its taken me about 6 years to get my first horse. its worth the wait trust me

i didnt keep the filly.. i didnt have that special feeling about her so i sold her after i had her for 2 weeks. Now im horse hunting again. I no what it like i waited 14 years.. 14years i hated it.. i know you must be bummed that it didn't work but the same thing happened to me. My dad told me, just becasue you don't get a horse right now, doesn't mean your dream is dead. Just be happy with what you have right now and know that someday you will get a horse. You just have to keep believing in yourself. That really inspired me and I hope it does the same for you. My parents had a horse until I was 2 or 3 years old. They sold her when I was little b/c she was part mustang and way too rough for a toddler. I stayed around the barn all the time & my parents were scared I'd get hurt, so they sold her. I had to wait until I was 18 to get my own horses & I didn't get to ride at all during those 18 yrs. b/c no one I knew had horses. Better late than never. To everyone still begging for a horse: be patient. Good things come to those who wait.
if the horse isn't close to your house then it's a pain, i wasn't allowed one but i have been sharing for 5 months and it's worked out well. he feels like my owm :D

I know the feeling. My mum and dad won't let me have a horse either- they say it's to much responsibility getting me to the yard and back plus there really isn't a livery yard a reasonable distance away!
well I had a pony on loan from the local stables, and then i think mum realised that i was ready for a pony, so thats how i came about to looking for one. If your parents decide to buy 1, don't keep nagging them or else they will be likely to change their mind (i tried it!!) but then leave it and let them look and hey yhoo never know...

I'm horse crazy.Ever since i was about 3 I've loved them.I had to get every little horse toy & always asked for 1.I took lessons when i was 7 then stopped (i forget why) I persuaded them to put me in them again(after years of them saying "Next year i promise").I started lessons again in May and I'm continuing (hopefully) until next year (excluding Winter)I think i'll start asking for something smaller like a half lease or full lease and show them I'm meant to have one!Follow your dreams!

Having a horse may sound glamorus, I longed for a own horse for many years, finally i got one, it´s fun but it´s really hard work, and it´s really expensive. You can´t take hollidays to other countrys or anything like that. If I would choose now, I belive I would choose the ridingschool and be able to travell and do things I never did. Bit if you really are sure I do hope you get a horse. Cute vid 5*

I´m not familiar with English and american size "things" But I would make sure they were able to run and have enough grass and trees. The most important is that they can run freely and be able to "escape" from each other. Do you have a horse?

okay thanks. yes i have 150 horses and 50 ponies and i am only 11 but i want 2 have 2 of my horses closer 2 home instead of driving an hour and a half 2 see them. but at the same time i am tring 2 save money 2 board one of them at a stable.

if you get one make sure it is just right for you. i have the perfect pony now. and i rode a year or two before i got my first horse. now im 12 and have had horses for 5 years. its a pleasure to have your own horse to be able to ride whenever you please. maybe if you write a perswasive essay on why you want a horse/pony and how you will take care of it and where you are going to keep it. that may work!!! good luck!!!

When I got my pony, it was really fun. Even though I was only in fourth grade, I did not fall off because I had been riding for years. I hope you get a horse because I can tell you deserve one! GOOD Luck!!!!

I was one of those kids who wanted a horse really badly and my parents would not get me one. I was critical of what everyone said, i was like " well there parents are nicer than mine or "they have more money" but after 7 years of hard work i was able to persuade my [parents to lease a horse! good luck

heres what you do...
1. lease first
2. show your parents you will take care of the leased horse
3. get a job and offer to pay some of the cost.
4. sit down and reason with the parents...
but you have to remember hard work always pays off... show them you can be responsible then they will think more and more about it!!

buying a horse is a great investment however it comes with many things your parents will need to consider. it's a great responsibility and by the looks of things your ready for it. give it time. its taken me about 6 years to get my first horse. its worth the wait trust me

i didnt keep the filly.. i didnt have that special feeling about her so i sold her after i had her for 2 weeks. Now im horse hunting again. I no what it like i waited 14 years.. 14years i hated it.. It took me 14 yrs till i got my first horse.She was a 2yr old Red Roan appy filly =)BEAUTIFUL animal.Gorgeous but just believe!"I BELIEVE"means a lot it just no twords.Talk to your parents and tell them your ready and responsible.YOu deffinetley deserve to have your own horse.HElp out around your house alot and never talk back or give your parents an attitude. make them pround make them wanna buy you a horse. i know you must be bummed that it didn't work but the same thing happened to me. My dad told me, just becasue you don't get a horse right now, doesn't mean your dream is dead. Just be happy with what you have right now and know that someday you will get a horse. You just have to keep believing in yourself. That really inspired me and I hope it does the same for you. My parents had a horse until I was 2 or 3 years old. They sold her when I was little b/c she was part mustang and way too rough for a toddler. I stayed around the barn all the time & my parents were scared I'd get hurt, so they sold her. I had to wait until I was 18 to get my own horses & I didn't get to ride at all during those 18 yrs. b/c no one I knew had horses. Better late than never. To everyone still begging for a horse: be patient. Good things come to those who wait.

well I had a pony on loan from the local stables, and then i think mum realised that i was ready for a pony, so thats how i came about to looking for one. If your parents decide to buy 1, don't keep nagging them or else they will be likely to change their mind (i tried it!!) but then leave it and let them look and hey yhoo never know...
