ieatpeas24 - and Ford, BMW, Mazda and Nissan are all companies founded in Australia, right?
SPOOKSTR - Yes, Brock was able to build some awesome racecars with the backing of Holden, but no amount of money would steer them around a racetrack for you. Brock was extremely competitive in anything he managed to get his backside into, including a BMW M3 and a Ford Sierra (unceremoniously debadged). He had a natural talent for the feel of a car and how it should and could be driven. R.I.P. Brocky
@ieatpeas24 you just made your self look stupid, Brocky didnt win any Bathursts with a 307.It was 202, 308 or 304 Holden Blocks. If you want to count the 24hr race, that was a 427 Chev. Aussie owned built and won, and Im a Kiwi, ya marnis.
@ieatpeas24 and you think the 351 clevo used in moffats cars were "aussie"??? along with the yank 9inch diff and yank toploader gearbox?? pffft another know it all, and his LJ torana ran a 202 straight six AUSSIE motor that wiped the ass off the HOeys hahahaha 9 times mate he was and always will be the BEST
Lets get real here, Brock only had the career he had on account of Holden throwing massive amounts of money at his car.....and for quite a few years Ford didn't even have a factory car for him to compete against...Brocky was a great driver but lets keep it in perspective.
@SPOOKSTR What about the 1975 win where unexpectantly he won in a privateers car which was on a very tight budget. And what about the 1987 win where Holden dropped all support for him after the polarizer affair. In that race they had to be beg, borrow and steal just to get the parts to run the car and the car that he actually won in was made up of second hand parts. They were that broke that they had no money for fuel to get the transporter home. And don't forget his teamates had identical cars.
The polarizer...lol...bwahahahaha....yeah a dentist thought that one up and Brocky thought he was onto a million dollar idea, pity GMH didn't agree. Im not saying Brock didn't have race winning talent, im just saying he had it easy compared to almost everyone else.
There will always be those who suffer from the tall poppy syndrome. They remember legends like Brocky for their private indescretions rather than what he should be remembered for. One of the greatest race car drivers Australia has ever seen.
this vid is a great effort , and GEEZZZZZ guys he IS a LEGEND and will remain to all the racing fans so stop trying to drag other shit in here .... The choice of the song is perfect as he IS KING OF THE MOUNTAIN ....
RIP Brocky , you are and will always be a legend to your fans and family!!!!

King of the Mountain? Well, disregarding that misleading cry, he certainly was not perfect, as he carried on over a dozen affairs with different women and has three kids to some of those women (reportedly). He was certainly a good driver, but one should be holistic when searching for a true leader. Let's be honest, he cheated at racing (taking other driver's cars so HE could finish a race and sleept with his BEST friend's wife). C'mon, be real, he shouldn't be anyone's hero or mentor.
@fulbore You are a wanker, yeah he had affairs and did some things that weren't quite right but who is perfect, Peter Perfect was his nickname racing so pull you head out of your ass and if you didn't like him why watch this video
this is the best thing that brock wanted he was not perfect as the other people said he i looked up to my self as a saloon car driver i love racing but when it comes to brock well lets just say he is my mentor as he says follow your dreams not your boundries never let anyone put you down RIP PETER BROCK....05 05
He was my hero when I was a kid , he was a great role model for kids to follow . He kept his personal life away from the public as much as a person can even though in his own words he wasn't perfect . I will always miss him but will always admire his legacy .
always the KING !!!! I love and miss him so much.
brocktober is here. any brock fans hit me up.
