The big Zuki really is the ultimate package for this kind of riding. Mine carried me strong, through the Stump Jumpers Desert 100 in Odessa WA. She got hot and beat to shit, but every time I stalled or crashed her, she started right back up. Side Note: This place looks like a desert racers heaven.
@conrad573 I hated it when it was new. It wasn't much off idle.. a decent midrange.. then no top end. But in this video I had already done the motor(13.5:1 piston + port and polished head + jet kit). I later did WB exhaust too.. .Freakin loved it after that. Had tons of power everywhere.
@zook62 As you can probably tell.. i'm not much of a desert racer. I've done motocross for a long time but not desert. If all trails were like these here, i'd be all over desert! haha.
@Stealthswim23 I really enjoy the heck out of the rm144 I have now. I'd like to keep it around even when I get another bike. But I really do miss this rmz450. With the engine work it was exactly what I wanted, and it handled Great. In about a year i'll be out of school and ready for another 450.
@Stealthswim23 I liked my CR. I rode Hondas for years and will probably end up back on one. I wasn't very comfortable on that CR250 at the time, and I didn't want to drop a bunch of money into it to make it more comfortable.
do you ever have problems trying to start your bike when its hot?
