  • Keep strong.

  • God didn't invent religions. Humans did.

    God invented spirituality; humans didn't.

I am a humanist and I accept God in a humanistic way.

Lady, it is ok to be a humanist and yet believe in God. Remember what I said earlier. Only humans have invented all the religions on earth, no exceptions, dear.

  • you can't judge christians of a few christians that sinned I'm sorry you have this look on life but christians don't hate single mothers. you haven't met all christians so like you said, don't judge please.

  • Flying spagetti monster :D

  • What! can you then make the deaf to hear or guide the blind and him who is in clear error? (40) But if We should take you away, still We shall inflict retribution on them; (41) Rather We will certainly show you that which We have promised them; for surely We are the possessors of full power over them. Surely you cannot guide whom you love, but Allah guides whom He pleases, and He knows best the followers of the right way. (56)

    these quranic verses answered you

  • In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful (1) All praise belongs to God, Lord of the Universe, (2) the Beneficent, the Merciful (3) and Master of the Day of Judgment (4) (Lord), You alone We do worship and from You alone we do seek assistance (5) (Lord), guide us to the right path, (6) the path of those to whom You have granted blessings, those who are neither subject to Your anger nor have gone astray. (7)

dughter listen to once read quran a do resrch go to revert on youtube storis

  • @mazzroa This is not gonna work and you know it... this kind of bullshit will never make a convincing appeal to an Atheist... try if you want, you'll fail.. you can quote surahs or whatever you want form your "holy text"... it's not convincing, to us is just a book, as reliable as the Bagavad Guita or Rapunzel or Snow white or The Lord of The Rings... interesting reading but fiction...

  • Comment removed

  • @mazzroa Why do you delete your comment so it's only in my inbox? don't you realize that I can put it here again despite the comment is no longer here (I have it)? smells like dishonest behaviour... I'm afraid with this kind of attitude the "gave over" is yours.. and I'm not a woman, and this is not a game

  • @DocStrange0123

well i am not playing games i am here to call poeple to peace and to love jesus moses and mohammad if i deletedthing beause to verses got to gother may the meaning will changed any way i calling you to the light of islam and paradise will be your hearafter read quran then do what ever you like you are lucky some one from saudi arabia trying totake your hand from hell fire

  • @mazzroa Already readed it thank you, same with the Bible, the Bhagavad Gita, the Tibetan Book of the Dead, the Tao-te-ching etc same with Mein Kampf, Anarchist Manifesto, Communist Manifesto etc. you see, I use to read what something is about FIRST (some with more detail than others I must admit) BEFORE I make an opinion and take a position, if not I just usually stfu and listen. Something that is not widely done here unfortunately. Kuran verses doesn't convince me, you'll need more than that.

  • @DocStrange0123

if word of God words doesnot convice you what i can do , some of information you must know prophet mohammed peace be up on him was illiterate and quran is so great in writing so no one can do simler pluse jesus mention in quran 25 times , God say ,, Say: If men and jinn should combine together to bring the like of this Quran, they could not bring the like of it, though some of them were aiders of others. (88) what a challenge , it up to you now think and read quran ,

  • @mazzroa 1- How do you know is the word of God? don't tell me, 'cause the book say so? And how do you know that what the books says is true and reliable? 2- God say blahblahblah etc etc ok, so what? how do you know that what the book says about what God says is true and accurate and is actually what God says and not something written down by superstitious primitive men who knew no better 'cause they had no ways to knew better? Did I mention that I already readed it or did you missed that part?

  • @DocStrange0123

1- easy cause no one can do like it , this book very logical and show the way of life and guide and cientifcal issue read the book THE QUR’AN AND MODERN SCIENCE by Dr. Maurice Bucaille a franch man pluse prophet mohmmad is no. 1 of The 100: A Ranking of the Most Influential Persons in History by Michael H. Hart these writer are not from muslim coutries admenting he is great person so now you deny the Quran the Drs who write the logic the challage what can i say

  • @mazzroa I know about that, not convincing. Science comes along and finds out something, then you muslims claim "look here man, see this passage? this is what really means, it's all here in my book, booyaa! it predicted it and blahblahblah" well, if your book predicted modern scientiffic concepts (your book is pretty subjective to interpretation), you had centuries to tell us fools how it all really scientifically works, what happened then? not a peep until science finds it out... Not convincing

  • @DocStrange0123

read Quran reveled on the prophet Mohammed the illiterate the # 1 of the 100: A Ranking of the Most Influential Persons in History by Michael H. Hart, who tell scientific things before modern science knew about read qur'an and modern science by Dr. Maurice bucaille,God say . Say: If men and jinn should combine together to bring the like of this Quran, they could not bring the like of it, though some of them were aiders of others, now with all these facts you still deny!

  • @mazzroa Most influential means most influential, since when most influential equals "I have the truth"? Does that mean that if for some reason the person X becomes one of the most influential his/her claims regarding the supernatural become true all of the sudden? I don't think so. Should I repeat it? "we predicted it first, it's in this book" when you had centuries to tell it but all was a silence until science comes along is pretty revealing (and laughable). facts? you call that facts? lmao

  • read quran please then judge

  • Say: O my servants! Who have acted extravagantly against their own souls, do not despair of the mercy of Allah; surely Allah forgives the faults altogether; surely He is the Forgiving the Merciful. (53) And return to your Lord time after time and submit to Him before there comes to you the punishment, then you shall not be helped. (54) And follow the best that has been revealed to you from your Lord before there comes to you the punishment all of a sudden while you do not even perceive; (55)

  • Thanks for sharing your story with us. I am deeply moved and I wish you all the best.

  • I wonder if there are any 'deconverted' atheists whose fathers were NOT dicks to them.

  • I think you are still agnostic as you say around 2:37 "To a degree I'm still not sure" Atheist Know they know Supernatural forces don't exist. You haven't 100% accepted it.

    And I think that's Great!.

It's wonderful to keep an open mind!

  • @brotherbrown1984 agnostics say something like "god is impossible to prove/disprove and i want nothing of it". and there are 2 types of atheists, strong atheists assert that god does not exist, and weak atheists say that they don't believe in any gods. most atheists are weak atheists because saying god does not exist is really just as dumb as it is to say that god does exist.

  • @RRV85 But you see this is the problem is extreme Atheists, they are always trying to categorize people and they too like christians don't respect people like us Agnostics. It's fine that you don't agree with agnostics, but you don't need to call our argument stupid. We believe this way for a reason and we want to be respected just like you. It's disrespecting to you and us to call us atheists because I believe to be that weak or strong you know damn well there is no GOD, but thats us.

  • good waking up

  • To be angry at the 'God' you've abandoned would be as silly as being mad at the Unicorn you loved when you were a littlle girl, or Santa.

  • “Are there hypocrites in the church? Perhaps there are. What better place for them to be? That’s where they will be exposed to the Word of God and learn that hypocrisy is wrong (Matthew 23:28). Do not allow the sins of others to keep you from receiving God’s gift of eternal life. God will deal with them. The Bible says, ‘Each of us shall give account of himself to God’ (Rom 14:12).”

  • hey hun, i would like to recommend Ron Rhodes. he is a good author. he covers alot of the questions you may have... check out lee strobel, too -- he used to be an atheist. he went out to look at the historical existence of Jesus. really good. it's like cs lewis says. Jesus is either a liar, a lunatic, or Lord. that's the trilemma. no other thing is this important, so i do hope you look into these authors. take care.

  • I am against religion and the fundamentalist who follow and believe in there delusion.Religion was founded out of ignorance and even with advancements in science and tech we still have those who willingly choose ignorance and mass delusion over the truth and reality.People sacrifice so much for false answers and mental comfort, I call them people weak and pathetic.I don't respect humanity as a whole and I look down on religion and those who follow it for a reason.I don't hate, just disappointed.

  • have you ever considered islam?

coz even if you are not satisfied with a religion, this doesn't mean that all of them are wrong, i know you might ve heard that religion is all about faith, but fortunately in islam we've got faith and proof

  • @ahmed2437 Christians do not have the same god as muslims. the qu'ran is not divinely inspired. Allah says, in the qu'ran, that he doesn't love sinners, the proud, and the unbelievers... the God of the bible loves ALL. sure He wants us to be in heaven with Him, but He still loves even sinners. he only hates sin. God cannot coexist w/ evil. and as for proof, well, entire libraries are out there on the historical existence of Jesus. His tomb is empty and He is risen!

  • @hulugal God says in the Quran he doesn't love sinners??? bring me this verse please

you are right, we don't have the same God,Christians worhip a man who used to eat, drink and whatever comes after that! even was afraid from jews to murder him.....i m asking how can this be a God? God is self-sufficient,he doesn't depend on anything whatsoever for his existance

I didn't deny Jesus peace be upon him, btw he's one the best 5 prophets in Islam, Jesus never claimed divinity....read S 5 : 116-117

  • Have you seen religulous?

  • Cool Story Bro

  • Good to hear that you cleared up your religious infection.

  • @ChasingSarahRedux Honest question: Why not be agnostic? Your deconversion story sounds like your headed down the same path in the opposite direction. I'm certainly no hard core Christian trying to press your buttons or anything, and I'm aware that you're not angry at God. I'm just don't understand how you're so sure that any god exists, and actually, I'm not quite sure how so many Christians are so sure that a god exists either. Just a thought.

  • @butterflijlo "Why not be agnostic?" Just a quick clarification in regard to a common misconception. Agnosticism relates to knowledge. It is the position that god(s) cannot be known. Atheism on the other hand deals with belief. It is a lack of belief in god(s) regardless if you think such a thing is understandable or not. For instance it's possible to think that it's impossible for mankind to know anything about god and at the same time believe/not believe in any god(s). Agnostic Atheism/Theism

  • @butterflijlo J. Budziszewski said, “To say that we cannot know anything about God is to say something about God; it is to say that if there is a God, he is unknowable. But in that case, he is not entirely unknowable, for the agnostic certainly thinks that we can know one thing about him: That nothing else can be known about him.” In the end, then, agnosticism is an illogical position to hold to.

  • Regretfully, my comment isn't related to the video, but you certainly look younger than 22.

  • Oh my god, I loved Dogma. You're awesome.

  • Heya

Your "deconversion" story is not boring, & thank you for sharing

    J

  • hot

  • I call myself a lapsed christian - atheism has such negative connatitions and agnoticism confuses people.

i don't thinkk there is a god.- there is no proof.

the immaculate conception, resurection and ascension cannot be verified

    so why believe?

  • MY MONEY IS ON THE SPAGHETTI MONSTER!!!

  • why would you denounce God for the acts of stupid and confused people who were judgemental towards people. Why would the bible say love everyone then allow those preachers to disrespect your family...they weren't in the bible. Go back to the book

  • @dking2ushawty21 She isn't denouncing God. She just doesn't believe in Him.

I'm not religious. I'm a Universal Unitarian. I believe that everyone has the right to find spiritual enlightenment through any way they choose without persecution. They have the right to be loved unconditionally, the right to compassion & the right to life simply because they are alive & are a part of the Oneness (as theorized by Quantum Mechanics).

She has a right to believe whatever she wants. Respect that.

  • @GrowTheTruth Okay really? denouncing and not believing cover the same area she use to believe in him now she doesn't....As a matter of fact what in fathers name are you talking about? At what point in my statement did I say she wasn't allowed to believe what she wanted? I was just speaking from a different viewpoint. I use to say the samething about stupid people until I stopped worrying about them, because people piss me off and vice versa, My main focus became only God....

  • @dking2ushawty21 She isn't "denouncing" him. She basically just came to the personal realization that she didn't believe that there even was a God out there to denounce. She isn't disrespecting God, because she doesn't believe that God even exists to disrespect.

So, how can she denounce something that she doesn't even believe exists anymore or maybe secretly never did?

I'm not trying to chastise you. I'm just saying not to judge. She is finding her own route that is right for her.

  • @GrowTheTruth I wasn't trying to judge her, I was just stating that I understand where she is coming from, and I walked away for the same reason. I was just saying I came back and learned that it wasn't Gods fault, it was the attitude of the people, not because God is perfect but the people had very bad attitudes and eventually left. But she is free to carry on as she would like I have no problem with that at all, sorry I got a little riled up there.

  • @dking2ushawty21 That's alright! Religion and spirituality are passionate topics for people.

Often, the best policy is just remembering that what works for us may not work for everyone. Offer up the knowledge, then leave it to them to choose to take it. :)

  • Were someone who acknowledged Jesus as your savior and knew where you would spend eternity?

    BTW I like Dogma too.

  • Good book. Like it alot. And your deconversion story is not lame. Its sad, but I'm glad you're happy. And it wasn't boring. I watched it all. I don't go to church, but I believe in God. I think churches are, as you said, hypocritical, but good and evil is real.

  • You look awefuly young to be saying I grew up this way.

  • Thanks for sharing. I'm in total agreement :) & Dogma's a great movie.

I felt exponential better after realizing my atheism. Less insecure, more peace of mind. Plus being able to step out of the whole guilt cycle is beyond words (altho it still catches me at times). Now I've freed myself to expand my knowledge into all sorts of wonderful ideas, concepts and books. If you haven't, do look up Alan Watts on YouTube and Scribd, his books are amazing.

    Namaste

  • While I don't disagree I find it funny that Dogma is part of it being that the man who created it is religious. On another note I feel that religion is based on 'faith; which to me is a blind trust in something you have no reason to believe exists. People want 15 year medical trials for a new vaccine of cure to be sure, to have proof . . . but in everything else in your life you leave it in a mythical creatures hands. I see religion as a way for people to absolve themselves of responsibility.

  • Your story is only somewhat similar to mine...I didn't figure out a lot of what is wrong with Judaism (and religion) until after I already knew it was all a bizarre waste of time. Your video seems to drag on too long after you have made your point, and THEN you mention that you were/are not angry at god...mention this earlier.

  • This video is a wake up call to all Christians!! If you don't show love and compassion for others, ALL others, how can you expect them to listen to the amazing message of Gods divine love?? We Christians are what the world looks to to discern the difference between Godly folk and unbelievers. If they can't see any difference, than why would they look further?? Remember what is written in Matthew 7:1-5. "Judge not lest ye be judged".....I speak to myself also!!!

  • ( 1 of 2)The mistake made here is the same mistake many people who claim to be atheists make. They attribute their decision to someone either from their church,

  • ( 2 of 2) their work, or their social circles, that was supposed to be a Christian and failed them. PEOPLE!! Listen!! Humans will always fail you. Why?? Because we are all "failed units"!! We are imperfect. We make mistakes, sometimes, BIG mistakes!! This doesn't mean God made a mistake, man did. Don't be so quick to blame God. He has proven His grace many times, He never fails!!

  • wow, AoG penticostal is really good at de-converting people. my story is very similar to yours. I used to get kicked out of sunday school every week for asking questions of the "teacher". They HATE questions. mix that with actually READING the bible, and TA-DAA! de-converted.

  • Stay strong! You have a whole community to support you. You're still young, and things might be hard now, but in 10 years you'll be living a stable, successful, flourishing life, and you'll look back on this time with relief and a sense of accomplishment. Clearly, you're already well on your way there.

I think it's great that you're nonetheless putting yourself out there and asserting what you know is right, even knowing people will judge you for it. They don't understand. Solidarity, yo.

  • i think its strange that this video is most popular with guys of the age 45 to 54. O.o lol

im glad that you have found your own way and a good part of who you are since so many people are in denial about who they are and where they stand in this world. cheers! ;)

  • I liked your story :).Congratulations for setting yourself free :)

  • Thanks for sharing your story, I enjoyed it very much.

  • Sorry about your parents. I must congratulate you on your freedom from indoctrination. ^_^

  • u know its kinda funny but the matrix helped me a long way kinda like a jumping off point to define what is reality

& the phrase "free your mind" really stuck with me

  • cool. That's very interesting.

  • Have you also watched a documentary film "Jesus Camp"?

  • @yahooman2009 Not yet. I'm still trying to procure the vast quantities of absinthe I'm sure I'll need to make it through flashback-free.

  • @ChasingSarahRedux you're not kidding. I'm a former born-again fundie and that movie hit waaaaay too close to home.

  • @yahooman2009 That film was freaky. It reminded me of Nazi Germany.

  • You do need to care about religion. When we have elected officials espousing a religion you then need to care. Because they just might make a decision that affects you, based on their religious beliefs.

Sarah Palin is a perfect example. The church she attended believed you could witness to someone and they could be slain in the Holy Spirit through cell phones en masse. Not to mention the fringe Pentecost type stuff. Possession and speaking in tounges.

  • Well done, kid. You have entered a true, bigger, better, far more awesome world.

  • I still have to see dogma

    great vid btw

    I gave you 5 stars

  • You are courageous , rational, and intelligent. I too was raised by fundamentalist family. As a child I became aware that religious contained internal contradictions. I became an admitted atheist in my teen years. I am encouraged by you and other young people in the new atheist generation. I used to feel like I was the only atheists in the US. I was recently contacted by several men I served in the military with 30 years ago, and the only shared memory they had of me was that I am atheist.

  • FUCK I HATE YOUTUBE

  • DescartesPupil:

looks like your comment was removed but my response:

  • "homosexuality is UNNATURAL"

You've never seen 2 male dogs going at it? It doesn't seem unnatural when animals do it as well. If it seems disgusting isn't it possible that you are projecting your sense of morality or propriety onto them...

  • One of the hardest things about being a Christian is that you are human and you make mistakes and at the same time, people are looking at you to see the reality of God. Every time I screw up, and every time I dont have the answer, it reflects not just on me, but on what I believe and the person of Christ who I believe in. For any of you who have been hurt by the church and the humans who make mistakes there, I am sorry, I really am. But know that God is who he is inspite of who we are.

  • Who said anything about being "hurt" by the church? I said it in the video, I am not angry at God, nor do I hold any grudges against God. I just don't believe. I probably would have ended up not believing even if I didn't have all of the heat of being bisexual OR the child of a single parent (or the child of a Jewish father, for that matter) coming from the HUMANS at my church.

  • Those at the church you used to go to obviously never put into practice Matthew 7:1-2. Nor do they understand that 1 John 2:9-11 describes them.

I could show you more scriptural condemnation towards your former church, but there's not enough room in the comment box!

Suffice it to say that the church you used to attend sounds like it's Christian in name only, which doesn't make it Christian at all.

  • Thank you for your story.

  • Keep reading your bible. The churches is not the bible.

You stance will not make things any better, but make things worse ultimately. You'll see.

  • Yep, you're right. I'm happier, healthier physically and emotionally, less insecure, and smarter as an atheist than I ever was as a Christian. Woe is me.

  • @ChasingSarahRedux

Look! Jesus is calling you forget the church focus on him and his teachings, what is wrong with you ?

  • @ChasingSarahRedux Gotta go with shayneby on this one. Read the bible: it'll convince you there is no god! so many contradictions and idiotic things. And "god"! what an immoral character, murdering large numbers of people (the flood), children (first born Egyptian boys), etc.

  • @ChasingSarahRedux i have a question involving your reasons for giving up your faith...or maybe just a point i would like to make....not sure how it will come out, but here it is...you cited a reasons that caused you to de-convert, reasons to not believe, but i think the strongest, and most valid, reason would be that there arent any valid reasons to believe in the first place, and that it sometimes takes an event, or a series of events, to make one aware of this

  • @ChasingSarahRedux ...it may seem to be the same premise, but, to me atleast, it feels like there is a discernible difference between the two...or maybe im being an ass and splitting hairs, lol

  • The bible is the root of many evils and suffering, it is created by the church, used by the church for mind control.

The girl is a lot more happier now living a better life mentally and physically, why ask her to go back to become a bible-toting zombie who lack a self-fulfulling life?

Everyone who does not harm others should have a lovely freedom to live their lives according to what they find meaningful to themselves..

  • shayneby

thanks for finding me funny and stupid, a stand-comedian needs that kind of encouragements ..

I can assure u that there is at least one other thing 10 times funnier and more ridiculous than me.. its the BIBLE.. hahahahahahaha hahaha..

Try reading it to your friends and have a good laugh.. bye :)

  • shayneby,

To believe the bible as factual you have to believe in 900-year old men, talking jackasses and bushes. A man with super strength which resided in his hair and a flood that covered the earth to the highest mountaintop, killing all creatures which hadnt been herded onto a single boat. A woman being convinced by a talking snake to eat the fruit of a magical tree, witches, wizards, sorcerers, spirits, satyrs, demons, giants, ghosts, dragons, unicorns.

    Enjoy your delusional fairy tale.

  • welcome to indiviuality, common sense and nonconformity btw Chasing...

  • ive said it on another video board and im going to say it here:

bomosexuality is UNNATURAL,not IMMORAL,IT IS the business of the particular people and only them.

there is a reason males and females have different genitalia which is natural.

    fuck the church.

  • "bomosexuality is UNNATURAL"

You've never seen 2 male dogs going at it? It doesn't seem unnatural when animals do it as well. If it seems disgusting isn't it possible that you are projecting your sense of morality or propriety onto them? Animals don't consider morality. They just do what comes "natural" to them.

  • Religious Sex: NO, YOU CANT ENJOY IT.

    Atheist Sex: Have fun ^_^

  • You're cute. Thanks for sharing.

  • I have often wondered why some people would want to be with someone of the same sex,if your a girl,It makes a bit more sence boys are funny looking. What if girls cought on to that? Then I thought, what if some of a caveman tribe hunted or picked berrys & did not have children, the remaning kids would get a leg up.I was happy to find I was not the first to think of this. Like alot of things about humans we can't worry to much. we'r a short time living & along time dead.

  • Wow...thanks for the response. I dated a girl in college that was a single mother and I agree. The way she was treated within her church was disgraceful. But don't get me started about the nut job that ran that church and the morons that followed him...

It's funny how things like sexuality (as natural as they are) make so many people so judgmental.

  • Well my parents and brothers don't know yet about I am atheist and honestly I don't think I can tell them soon. Maybe just to my little brother which is 13 years younger than me and the only one who didn't grow on a conservative enviroment.

  • It's funny, because I have a student (High School) who is Assembly of God, and he's probably the wildest of all of my student's, even uses bad language. Anyway, I've never understood this church...I never knew that God needed assembling. What are the instructions like, "Put galaxy slot A into galaxy slot B?"

  • It's interesting the way your mother reacted to you given her history with the Church. This kind of thing happens all the time, though. In California, you had groups that had traditionally been denied basic civil rights voting overwhelmingly to deny that of others. And the most common response to being hazed isn't to try to end the practice, but to become a hazer yourself once you get your turn. Humans are awfully funny.
